The One and Only NWA:TNA Thread

I wholeheartedly agree with Bps. The middle of the show was pretty damn good and I don't know what it is about Styles and Abyss, but man, it's like TNA's version of Austin/Angle from 2001(not as great obviously).

    Are coaches overrated?

Eh, Frank just came in at the right time. The Nets had stopped playing for Scott completely(especially that whiner, Jason Kidd) and they just happened to fire Scott when NJ hit the creampuff part of their season where every team they played(except for a Detroit team that couldn't really score at that point) sucked ass until they played Minnesota. When they beat some better teams, maybe then I'll believe the hype.

    The best botches.

You're a couple pages too late. The Eddy WM 17 botch was mentioned a while ago. Also, Eddy was jumping from the apron too when he slipped and fell. I forgot who he was up against, but last year, someone took the Booker T Axe Kick bump by flipping over onto their back... Talk about stupid.

The OaO 2003-2004 NBA Season Thread!

I don't think any of those teams can beat the WOlves in a 7 games series. Not a chance in Hell. The Nuggests would probably give them the best run since they are a bit more balanced, but it's a major stretch to say that they(or the Grizz and the Rockets) will beat the best player in the league along with Cassell and Spree in 4 games.

Rock also had that powerbomby-looking thing when he and Benoit wrestled at Fully Loaded 2000. I almost thought was gonna kill him. Here's a couple of Taker ones from 2001: - One RAW, he was in a tag match against Test and went to Last Ride him and almost dropped him over the top rope, nearly avoiding breaking his neck. - On RAW post-heel turn, he goes to Last Ride Rock and botches it almost as bad as he did with Test, only that he almost fell forward with Rocky. - On the infamous RAW ladder match with Jeff Hardy, I don't know whether Jeff jumped too soon or what, but Taker almost trips and damn near falls into the ropes on the Last Ride attempt nearly doing them both in. A Bubba Ray one: This was the RAW after Unforgiven 2002. In the main event tag match, Bubba was supposed to powerbomb HHH through the table that had been set up, but something happened to his arm and he dropped HHH on the corner and RVD had to make up for it by splashing Hunter through what was left.

Here's one I'm surprised some people forgot: No Mercy 2003- A-Train/Benoit. Train has Chris up for a gorilla press and drops him head-first onto a chair in the ring. I'm no A-Tain fan or anything, but man... the look on his face as it all happened and when he checked on Benoit made me feel sorry for him.

    The best botches.

Didn't he say something later on anout how he "saw the demons going after Kevin", or something equally retarded in a total misappropriation of religion sort-of way? I can't recall the promo exactly, but he said something to the effect of "if you don't make the right choice soon, Hunter...", *pauses and takes a look at Nash grabbing his knee*, "YOU'LL be laying face-down like everyone else here!". Throughout his lil speech, he kept taking glances over at Nash and when he said the final part about ending up face-down like everyone else in the ring, you could see people laughing in the background(at least, I think. Haven't seen that ep in a loooooong time).

    The best botches.

What was even funnier was the promo HBK cut after that match warning HHH about what would happen if he didn't join the NWO and he kept looking at Nash laying down in the corner...

    The best botches.

HBK's blown plancha on RAW 2 years ago before SummerSlam. I think it was the RAW where he superkicked Brock. He goes for the plancha and catches his foot on the top rope, and was lucky enough that there were like 3 other people besides Hunter on the floor when he did it, otherwise, he'd have landed straight on his head. Taker's first chokeslam on Hogan during their awful match at JD 2002. Talk about embarrassing. The blown ref spot from Orton/RVD a few weeks ago. Both guys botched it so bad that the ref didn't even sell it and they had to do it over in the middle of the ring. There wa s another one either in 2002 or early on last year where Charles Robinson was supposed to get bumped, but the women messed up so bad that he just stood there and stared at them.

    OAO America's X-Cup

Agreed with that. I am also not a fan of Garza they are way too big for wrestling guys like Dutt and Sabin. Aguilia was kind of spotty still was pretty good. Couldn't agree more. Also... It seems like time came up and bitchslapped Garza and Rios all to hell. I know WCW and the old WWF Lightheavyweight division were years ago and all, but DAMN...

    HHH plans after WM XX

Whaaaaaaa? A program and a feud are practically the same thing...

    OAO America's X-Cup

Holy Overreacting, Batman! Booking guys to work multiple matches in one night(while probably not the entire case here) *is* stupid, so chill with the overdramatizing BS. Doing it wears them out and you get botches like in quite a few of those matches last night. And before you go running off at the mouth using Red's rationale for why certain people wouldn't like the show, I do like lucha, but only when it's well-done and it wasn't well-done last night.

    HHH plans after WM XX

Well, all hope is not lost. If Triple H is feeling generous, Edge could wind up pinning HHH in a tag-team match. Then, of course, meeting the Pedigree later when the match actually counts. Words cannot express how fucking depressing that is, but the fact that it has a higher possibility of happening then Hunter putting over Edge just makes it all the more sickening...

    OAO America's X-Cup

WOOF. I kinda have to agree with Coffey here. That show was BAD. I liked the final match somewhat, but that finish was TERRIBLE. I mean, maybe it was because I expected TNA to win, but come on now... Lynn had the crowd in his hand and then he gets dealt with like a bitch. Of course, the fact that they had Jarrett on AGAIN and wasted more of my time with another non-wrestler probably helpped make me into an even more bitter bastard concerning this show. BTW, how dumb is it to book the AAA guys to work multiple matches after they'd just done a tour in Japan, anyway?

Good point. I don't remember when Lesnar himself said it, though. Damn, does my memory suck or what?

So What Did You Think Of The Contract Singing?

I think they could have had Chris say something as long as he kept it simple. After Hunter cuts that promo, Chris could have taken the mic and, while keeping eye contact with HHH, get real close up and go, "You what, Hunter?" -small, dramatic pause- "You're wrong." in a low, menacing voice. Of course, that would only have worked if it was just HHH/Benoit, so it's meaningless at this point.

So What Did You Think Of The Contract Singing?

I liked the contract signing up until "Sexy Boy" hit. HHH cut an amazingly good promo and Benoit being silent while staring both him and the title down was great and I honestly began to think that they were going to get it right for once and then... :::: toilet flushing :::: Right down the commode.
