Trish is their best combination of good looks and decent wrestler. Maybe people thought she wasn't a good wrestler in 2000, but even then I enjoyed her character in the Trish/Stephanie feud and hell she made T n A watchable. She's definetly my favorite diva of all time.

HELL YEAH! Let the good times role baby. The nostalgia effect will be in full force at WM21.

The OAO 77th Annual Academy Awards Thread

Damn Million Dollar Baby nearly swept that bad boy. -
I think after the Hall of Fame he's opened up a little bit more to the media.

A greatly underrated/underappreciated movie. Probably Murphys best work of the 90's, hell I would go as far as to say Murphy should of gotten Oscar consideration for creating two totally different characters that both work equally well.
-
How good was 1994's best picture category? Forest Gump, Shawshawnk Redemption, Pulp Fiction....that's 3 classics right there, 3 movies that people still love today. Pulp Fiction should of won though....I don't see how you give it to Gump.

I like Hassan as a promo man, not impressed with his in ring skills but he's really the most realistic character on Raw. The thing I loved about last night was him being a midcarder saying "I should face HHH at Wrestlemania for the title". You notice it seems like midcarders never show any kind of ambition as far as getting a title shot or wanting to make it to the main events, ESPECIALLY heels. It seems like a midcard heel usually would rather help HHH out than ever challenge him to a match. He's got a lot of heat too, as suggested by many here he actually reminded the crowd last night that he was from this country. I don't know how high you can push him but I would call his character a success at this point. Anybody else a fan of the guys promos?

Good news from my viewpoint, Rock NEEDS to be at Wrestlemania, I mean cmon the slogan is "Wrestlemania goes Hollywood", why wouldn't WWE's only big time movie star not show up?
-
Well the critics always loved it, it's just the common people who didn't recieve it well. I kid you not about Murphy, although it was never going to happen, I think he's a great actor when he wants to be, like in 'Life'. Alright maybe not oscar material, but the movie is definetly underrated.

Yeah the advertisting for this movie has been insane, I see a preview for it at least 5x a day. I'll be surprised if it isn't a hit. 'That's not GANGSTA dawg"!.

I guarantee victory for Arenas in the Skills challenge. Lebron will be MVP of the All-Star game, this will be basically a showcase of his passing skills. Give me Korver for the 3-point contest. Josh Smith will take the Dunk Contest easy.

Can you repost some of the files from the first page? Like the Pillman/Austin gun angle.

WTF? Ric Flair man, Ric Flair. EVERBODY knows Ric Flair. And you know who else was very mainstream at one time? Roddy Piper, They Live I believe opened at #1 at the box office.

I was going to start a topic like this but I saw it here. I think even though he flopped as a champion and burned alot of bridges, you have to acknowledge that from a kayfabe aspect and from a historical perspective, Ultimate Warrior was pretty huge in his peak. I'm not talking about from the stand point of being a draw, but Wrestlemania 6 had one of the greatest build ups and had maybe the most heat in any match ever, and that was cause the fanbase was completely spit on Hulk Hogan and Ultimate Warrior. I think someone else said it, but people remember the Warrior, my friends who don't even follow wrestling as much anymore still remember the Ultimate Warrior. His time was short, but I think from a kayfabe perspective people are always going to remember the guy.

One thing I think people understimate is how over Luger was in WCW in 96-97. Before the whole Sting thing it was basically the NWO vs Luger and Luger was getting huge face heat every week.

I didn't like Bad Boys 2 at all, thought it was horrible, but the first one was great. I like Will Smith though, Fresh Prince is still my favorite show of all time. I think he's done a smart thing over the years of not doing too many movies and for the most part making good choices in the movies he does. -
So your telling me the WWE didn't even friggin contact the guy and tell him what was up?
-
I mark out for Piper, I just like the guy, so I'm glad he's in.

Gilbert Arenas has scored 30 or more points in 9 of his last 13 games, he's just dominating guys at the PG posistion as of late.

Well Salutations to the Rock, he had a great 9 year run, and he left pretty much in his prime. Definetly one of the best promo men of all time. I always prefered him to Austin because Rock was more creative with his promos, and in my mind his work as a heel is still some of the best I've ever seen.

Paramount releasing Classic Nickelodeon on DVD!
Shanghai Kid replied to GreatWhiteNope's topic in Television & Film
Yeah I thought buying Garfield and Friends would be cool since I used to watch it every morning. The nostaliga wore off after the first episode and I was left thinking why the hell did I just spend 30 dollars on this? Be VERY weary of buying some of these shows on DVD that you used to watch as a kid. One of the only one's that held up for still is Gargoyles, sweet show. -
Well, this sucks to say the least. Instead of the occasional entertaining Rock promo we're just going to get HHH, week after week, month after month, year after year. Man I miss the Rock already. Screw his movies, the best talent he has is cutting a live promo infront of a lively audience.

Was just watching the underrated boxing movie Gladiator and Ossie Davis was great as the trainer.

I have to admit, Sabu's style is VERY entertaining. The way he uses the ropes to randomly create a high flying move is just great. RVD/Sabu vs the Eliminators is interesting because the two teams are definetly not on the same page. Kronus gets right up after the double splash and you can legitly see Sabu pissed as he yells at him. Sweetest thing about the match? The Eliminators finisher (Elimination) is just SICK. It looked like they literally took RVD's head off. And RVD/Sabu REALLY had some nice double team moves, their chemistry was pretty nice. I would of loved to seen those two against the Steiner Brothers or the Rockers.

The thing is, Bruce Campbell is old and out of shape now, I mean the guy has gray hair and doesn't even resemble the Ash from the first few Evil Dead movies. I would think they have to do something with Ash being older maybe trying to forget the past before some deadites make him come out of retirement one last time.
