That's my biggest problem with EA, as I've said elsewhere. They develop for both at the same time, so the games are optomized for the PS2, and the Xbox versions are identical. Ubi develops for Xbox/PC first, then scales it down for the PS2, which can't handle a lot of the effects, level size, etc that the Xbox can. (Not to mention that PS2's Splinter Cell was easier..) That's why I'm worried about this.

NOW with licensed songs, including exclusive songs by Snoop Dogg and Linkin Park, reinterpreting classic songs that nobody thought needed changing! "Fisher, contact me on your cell phone. Just open up the large ever-present Cingular logo on the left side of your screen! If you want to, there's a mobile edition of 'The Sims' that you may want to play when you need to kill time. Full version available at your closest software retailer for $30. Headquarters out." Work a tie into Madden somehow..and that's pretty much what they'd do to it..

That's all we need. I hope the Clancy titles stay the way they are..because I don't want the watered down PS2 versions on my Xbox. The way Ubi develops them now is just fine..but if EA inhales 'em..

They'll pump them out if people keep buying them. And because Vice City sold well, expect loads of games with minor upgrades, and scripts blatantly ripped off crime movies..

Odd.. Have you installed anything recently? Could be a conflict of some sort. I don't think it would help any, but run a spyware check, too.

Solution: Use Firefox. Grab the Adblock plugin. Right click on it, select "Adblock Image", and poof. You'll never see it again. I've done it several times here already, particularly getting rid of a few annoying avatars. The plugin itself is useful, too..because you can block those damned Flash ads, too.

From what I remember of the book, it was a symbolic thing. There are only a handful of wizards on Middle Earth, and out of those, Saruman the White was the most powerful of the order. When Saruman turned, and Gandalf died, those who sent the wizards in the first place basically reincarnated him as Saruman. So, Saruman's got no place, and his power is basically nothing compared to what Gandalf is now. As for the Witch King bit..I honestly don't know. It's been a while since I've read the book.

I hate to tell you, but yes, they do. I seem to remember a lot of people weren't happy that all the graphical glitches from the PS2 version made it in. I particularly complain about EA because there are other developers without the massive resources that DO take advantage of the Xbox features. Take Ubisoft, for example. The Rainbow Six and Splinter Cell games are among some of the best looking (and selling) games on the system. They develop for Xbox/PC first, then scale it down for the PS2 format. Let's face it, the PS2 just can't handle a lot of things that the Xbox can. The levels have to be chopped up to allow for loading times, and the whole outside part of the CIA level was cut. EA just develops for the PS2, and ports it over. Just for the record, I've been playing games for a long time, and most of the ones I like aren't exactly graphical masterpeices. I'm not your average graphics-only whore, but it irks me to see things left the same when it could be made better. Given EA's resources, there's no excuse for the Xbox versions of games to be carbon copies of the PS2 ones. No, Westwood wasn't the best, but at least they gave it a try. C&C Generals was a blatant attempt to cash in on current events, and using the Command and Conquer name to get fans to buy a completely unrelated game. That's just about as bad as Interplay using the Fallout name on BoS right before they died. Generals isn't just bad..the game itself isn't complete, terrible multiplay (in fact, the last "patch" broke the AI, and made it take up a huge ammount of CPU resources. Playing a LAN game against Hard AI..even with two high-end systems, turns it into a slideshow.). The worst part is that they turned their back on people asking them to fix what they'd broken, and they just ignore it. ..USA Today isn't the most credible source in the world, either. MS has also released a lot of content for free, though. EA's biggest demand was that old versions of games couldn't be playable online once the new game came out. I don't know if that made it into the agreement or not, but we'll see sooner or later, eh? Looking at the press releases, EA controls all the servers for their games..so I'd imagine anyone wanting to play will be forced to upgrade games every year. [i think the whole HL2 double-check bit was likely because of the source getting leaked. *shrugs* Just my view, though.

They put out state of the art games, I agree. If you own a PS2. None of their Xbox games take advantages of the system's power, and most look like crap if you've got a decent video setup. Not to mention they held out on Live play for the longest time because they wanted to charge extra to play their stuff. How about the fact the old game won't be playable online after the new one comes out? As for more on the quality suffering bit..ask the people in the Command and Conqure community. EA forced the developer to basically recreate the game halfway through to capatalize on the 9/11 events. Then releases an expansion pack, and abandoned the community, leaving them with a broken, unbalanced, crash-happy game with pathetic multiplayer code. How about all the people having trouble playing Sims 2 (EA's best-selling property, I believe) because of copy protection software glitches? Guess what EA's doing? Nothing. Yup, that's quality for you.

Yay! Five more years of glorified roster updates! EA's the biggest cancer to the videogame industry, seriously. They put out mediocre games, and nobody says anything bad about them because they have the reviewers paid off. Not to mention the numerous ways they find to spit in the face of people who buy from them..

Umm wtf? Eddie Murphy belongs on the second list right there with Richard Pryor. Delirious my son, Delirious. I've never found Eddie Murphy funny at all, personally.

Considering that the plan before he left was a squash feud with the Taker, it wouldn't be shocking if they picked up right where they left off. If Vince cares about more than just money, Lesnar should be jobbed out to an extreme to show as an example of what not to do. If Vince just wants a bigger payday, fuck the future, then have him go on winning streak by all means. I would only take him back if he: relearnt how to do a proper SSP, didn't complain about his knees or the ropes, came crawling back on his sore knees, was willing to be humilated until the boys in the back could except him as someone who earned their dues ten fold. Fuck Lesnar from a long-term business standpoint. Yeah, he botched his one and only SSP in the WWE..so you want him to relearn it? Lesnar's is still better than that abortion Kidman calls an SSP..

What do you mean exactly? Recently there's been an uproar over how EA treats their employees. Can't find the link at the moment. Personally: EA's the biggest mediocre game manufacturer on earth. The equivalent of a video-game company vampire..asorbing everything around it. People may bitch about Microsoft using their money to buy a studio here and there, but EA's ten times worse about it. That, and they have this blatant hatred for the Xbox. They must, because they refuse to graphically upgrade games after porting them from the PS2..

BT's slightly different from P2P services like Kazaa. It's more like eMule (you download in parts, from lots of people)..but a hell of a lot less crappy. There isn't any central server or anything, just the tracker. (usually wherever the torrent file's uploaded to, which connects you to everybody else) The good thing is that it's capable of some VERY good speeds. The bad thing is that there are a bunch of leechers, who don't stay around and help everyone else get complete files. All you really need is the torrent client (I use Azureus myself), and a site to download from. Hope it helps.

You just have to remember..this is EA. The Xbox version will be halfassed as much as humanly possible.

He did say the PS2 versions. The PS2 "Fallout" game is a pathetic attempt to cash in on a popular name..that didn't work.

The main reason for a higher-capacity format is the fact HD programming just dosen't fit well on DVD's. They need the greater space HD-DVD / Blu-Ray provide.

EA's always sucked. Hell, this wouldn't be the first time they've released a beta as a retail version..

I'll keep this short. The only decent radio station in Houston, Rock 101, was taken off the air today by Clear Channel. ..for what? A fucking Spanish language rap station. I mean, there are only like 4 of those down here, right? *twitch* Granted, there are always mp3s and such..but it's depressing.
