TSM Head-to-head FantasyBaseball League~!
Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Sports
Geez... I wonder why that is. Bastard. I was hoping no one was going to send it before the slated time, so I could get first pick, but NO! YOU AND TWO OTHERS HAD TO SEND IT IN BEFORE THAT TIME~! I hate you the most cause you sent it like two nanoseconds after I posted it up. I will own your team and destroy it from within. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHA~! ...that doesn't mean since I've got Commish powers that I'll try to undermind you team. No siree. -

My philosophy is "fill what you know you can fill". I've got the 4th pick in this draft. I'm going to use it so that I can hoist up some good players in the first 3 rounds. Although, I don't know if I'll get the 3 I want, but I can damn well try. The rest is to fill with what I need. Which should be easy enough. -
Actually, I used to be a GamePro reader. I say used to, because as always, the internet is a much better find. Besides, for my RPGs, I always head to RPGamer.com I mean, if there are other games, usually I'll hear how good it is from you guys and then I'll take it upon myself to play it. That's how I do my video game playing. Sadly, I play all the RPGs. Even the cruddy ones, with semi-redeemable value.

Like the Basketball Draft? ...that was just too messed up. -
You should tell him that Tom went all Scott Keith on us and banned half the board for disagreeing with him. Tell Dames I was the first one to go in Tom's "Scott Keith Rage". If that doesn't make him believe, I don't know what would.

*sighs* FINE~! You picky, picky people. Consider batting categories changed to what HarleyQuinn has suggested. Pitching is staying as is. Oh, and I'm not about to let people who were lazy get a good shot at redemption. SO... DRAFT IS STRAIGHT, NOT SERPENTINE~! Trust me, some people make some bad choices, so you will get some good players no matter what. Anyone from my fantasy basketball league can tell you this as people will pick according to how they wish to play or feel is reasonable for them. That said here's what I've got for the draft order so far: 01) Pocono Poison - alkeiper 02) 1000% Guapos - razazteca 03) Rebels of Oakland - Bored 04) Crimson Storm - Lightning Flik 05) Whalers on the Moon - the pinjockey 06) NuclearSledgehammers - MarvinisaLunatic 07) Gotham Harlequins - HarleyQuinn 08) Warts Whackos - Wart (...I have no idea who this is, newbie I guess) 09) Pawtucket Red Sox - Cartman 10) Brockvegas Posse - treble charged 11) EL KABONG~! Slapnuts - Slapnuts! 12) The Worst Team - Cuban Linx 13) Fear the Slayers - Sandman9000 14) Vacant 15) Vacant 16) Vacant Finally, to those 3 managers who haven't given me all of what I requested, please send me your AIM and Team Name for you to be added to the list. And whoever the heck is Small Red Machine, don't you DARE drop. We've got 16 teams and you drop, you'll screw us up. -

They are all different stats. Not one of them are duplicates. They may use a stat to produce another but they are not the same. How the hell is singles and hits unneccesary? One is for how many singles you can hit, the other is how many times you hit! Batting Average is calculated via a formula that uses hits in it. ERA is the exact same when it comes to ERs. Strikeouts are counted in batting average yes, but to calculate the BA; this doesn't mean that the stat itself is excusable, just because it is used to caculate something. And load them? Excuse me? I didn't have a ton when we did the NBA Fantasy League. A modest 13 wasn't bad. Which then ended down to 8. -

Being that I'm first, I should keep my mouth shut, but aren't people who are lazy MORE likely to sit at the computer all day? If we had done this on a Thursday night into Friday, I'd be screwed. Then that would've been the "natural" reaction. So really, you can't say anything. Besides, I could just do the hat deal. Then you might be dead last. Then again, that's not that bad of a thing. Although, I'm kinda not sure if it's going to be Serpentine or not. I'm actually now wondering if I should truly make those people who didn't hand in their stuff early feel it. 12) The Worst Team - Cuban Linx 13) Vacant 14) Vacant 15) Vacant 16) Vacant Finally, to those 4 managers who haven't given me all of what I requested, please send me your AIM and Team Name for you to be added to the list. -

Ok... I just want to let everyone know something. ...I lied. I'm sorry, but I wanted to let you people know this straight up and I apologize ahead of time. What did I lie about? Well, for instance, I had the draft order done up totally different than what I said... Sorta. If you had your thing into me, I added you to a list, directly as is. So if you sent your PM into me, you'd automatically got ranked. At a certain time, if I didn't get anyone at that exact time, I would add myself to the draft order and then people would follow. That was my whole plan at the time. Reason I didn't say anything of the sort, was to get a more natural reponse and to make people pay up for being lazy. 12) Vacant 13) Vacant 14) Vacant 15) Vacant 16) Vacant ...Vern as I mentioned in PM, I need your Team Name and AIM Name, otherwise, you aren't added to the listing. And in a PM, not in here. Finally, to those 5 managers (that's including you Vern) who haven't given me all of what I requested, please send me your AIM and Team Name for you to be added to the list. -

One last thing I wanted to mention. Although the league has only 16 teams, I do have four positions still available should anyone who really wants to join, can join. I don't want to make it seem like I'm not willing to let others who wanted to join, but didn't because of a situation, not able to. It doesn't matter if you make the amount of teams odd or even, it'll still work out in the end for the draft. For some reason this was different with the NBA draft, but not for the MLB draft. AND I NEED THIS INFO FROM EVERYONE BEFORE 3PM EST TOMORROW~! -

...you totally haven't read my diaries, have you? If so, you know that this, answers your question. Logic dictates a serpentine draft. With that out of my way, SEND IN THAT INFO I WANT FROM YOU~! -
Is that even a review? That's more like a personal opinion. That's absolutely bullshit. *reads it fully* ...he never played it. I'm sorry, but there is NO way he could've devoted any time or effort to this game if he had. That is absolutely horrible.

Teddy Hart Coming to ROH on 3/13!
Lightning Flik replied to Nevermortal's topic in General Wrestling
Actually, he WAS unknown for the most part till this started up. Most cult fans didn't really know much about Teddy Hart. He wasn't really even looked upon more closely till this incident. I mean, yes, we knew about him with WWE and the fallout thereafter, but it wasn't long after that that suddenly he became better known. And that was last year. -

Since people might let a good player go till the fifth round (as was with the NBA league) this one is straight. And no one complain, I had already stated as much in my very first post (of this thread) *reads first post* You did? It was supposed originally supposed to be live. Hence it would be straight up. So see? I was telling the truth. *even out of EWR, logic truly escapes me* -

*coughbullshitcoughwithcoughthiscoughleaguecough* Ahem. As I was saying through my absurd joke, we can still run with 15 if we've only got fifteen, so worries. Uh... The draft is Monday (maybe, as something might come up and I might be away, and since I'm plugging this stuff in, I'm making sure I'm there for this draft). Why should we worry about the "live draft" thingy then? I'll fix it when we get to that point. *goes and fixes it* Yes. Monday during RAW. (might be changed, but I doubt it). Draft order will be officially up tomorrow. Since people might let a good player go till the fifth round (as was with the NBA league) this one is straight. And no one complain, I had already stated as much in my very first post (of this thread). You didn't have to, but appreciated. The order will be whoever does as I requested, like the below. People who are participating in the draft, send a PM (as in Private Message on TSM) to myself with your AIM name and Team Name (that way I'm not looking for it in here). I will then place your Team Name in a bowl or something and pull it out. I will then post up the draft order here tomorrow at like 3pm EST (that's noon MST, hence why I'm doing that). So if I don't get anyone's AIM and Team Name, you will then be placed after those who's names I've pulled out of a hat, in the order that those people finally notify me (via PM) that they aren't on the draft order. Oh and to those that forget, I won't place you on the draft order until I get both your AIM and Team Name. If you only produce one of the two, you won't be placed on the draft order. And should anyone forget to do so? You'll be placed dead last. Deal? Deal. -
I don't have a lot of games left Raza. I doubt I'll even make it close *prays to god I do*. However, if, and I mean a BIG if, I win enough games from now till Week 20, and I'm in the playoffs, some people are going to get fucked up. And that's me counting if I get Carter back by then. I've got a lot of my players playing as soon as this week ends. I've got a good shot at winning the lower six playoffs.

International Wrestling Association
Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in General Wrestling
Hm... I'll have to consider that... *ponders the ideas of Ahmed Johnson and Larry Zybysko with Creative Control* -
Back Story: The WWE decides to cut some of the wrestlers on the roster whom they don’t have anything creatively for. Dustin Rhodes, Lance Storm, Chris Kanyon, Ultimo Dragon, Rob Van Dam, Tommy Dreamer, Sean O’Haire, and Hurricane were all released by the end of February. Many of the wrestling insiders began predicting where we might be seeing these talented individuals. Ultimo Dragon was assumed to be heading back to Japan after his unsuccessful showing with the WWE. Rob Van Dam most likely heading away from the spot light to his comic store. Tommy Dreamer was probably going to head to Ring of Honor and help the federation grow. What was speculated never occurred though. The only clue was Lance Storm’s website giving the story of “I’m currently have my schedule full for at least the next two years. As to what, you’ll just have to wait and see on March 6th, 2004.” With that cryptic response came light of a new federation. This federation was lead by Jacob Lieberman, and they apparently had a show on DirectTV called “Rage” on March 6th, 2004. And so the wrestling world became a flutter with the wonderful news that this new wrestling federation, International Wrestling Association, was in town. Roster *Red means heels. Green means faces. Developmental deals do not have a suggested side. Main Eventers Hurricane – Comic Book Hero Lance Storm – Ice Man (meant to put that) Rob Van Dam - Stoner Sean O’Haire - Troublemaker Tommy Dreamer - Extremist Ultimo Dragon – Foreign Star Uppercarders Midcarders Adam Windsor - Cool Chad Collyer – Old School Face Chris Hero – Man On A Mission CM Punk - Punk Colt Cabana – Old School Heel Cruz – Highlight Reel EZ Money – Ravishing J.R. This is just another one I'm doing up because I felt like it. Hence the title "More Fun~!" This diary is just for fun, probably won't be as wonderful as my other one, but you should be able to enjoy it. This Cult federation of 80 PI and 2 million dollars, has a TV show on Saturdays, Late Evening. That about covers it. Actually I did this up last night, so it hasn't effected my other diary in the slightest. And won't effect my other diary period. Just think of this as something a little extra inbetween my other diary.

Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Sports
Because I get a draft time that leaves it pretty out there for a lot of people, as it is during the "work hours". Even I'm not sure if I'd make a day time. Hence why it'll be an "offline" draft, but held within a chat room. ...and as I said, I can't get a official "online" draft going. Hence why we'll be in an AIM chatroom, doing the EXACT same thing as we normally would be. Except it'll just be told in the chat. I'll copy write it down on a sheet of paper (post up the summary for each round in a post in this thread), and when we are finished, I'll post up the final results in the computer online. As for doing it this Monday, I can agree with that since the feeling is Monday's during RAW is fine. So at 6:30 EST everyone should probably be on AIM (the 15 involved) and I'll post up the "who gets what position in the draft" at that time. That sound cool to everyone then? -

Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in Sports
WE ARE HAVING AN OFFLINE DRAFT~! Now before you all get your collective panties in a bunch, this offline draft will be held in an AIM chatroom at a certain time or place. As long as I can get two thirds of the majority to agree on a date and time, that will then be the selected date for the draft. During that AIM Chatroom Draft, each manager will be given two full minutes when it is their turn to select a pick on whom that person will be. The Commish will then ask if that is their correct pick (by repeating said pick). There will then be a brief discussion (as those things tend to happen) about the pick, and then The Commish will announce whomever is on the clock. If you don't select a pick within two minutes, the NEXT person will then jump the que and will get a shot at making a pick. The person who did not pick will then get a second chance after the que jumper at making a pick within a minute. Failure to get a pick a second time will null and void your pick for that round. Your voided pick will not be available to you till the end of the draft. After each round is completed, a round summary will be posted up. Yes, this means you actually will have to remember who is picked so far that round, because The Commish is not about to tell you during a middle of a round. Also check back at the last post in this thread, as that will usually have the draft results (all rounds will be posted for summaries). At the end of each round, there will be a pause of at least five to ten minutes (I'm not sure how long I want the break to be, as this will be for 20+ rounds) for people to set up strategy for the next round. This draft will probably be broken up over a period of 4 days. Each day will be a round of five players drafted. This way, people have a good idea of whom to choose. That said, we should be good to go. I just want ONE day we can agree upon for the first five rounds. From there, I will select three more dates for the other 15 rounds. Should anyone not be present for the selected round, please have a list of players you would like (auto-pick, except I'll go by listing). Have at least 15 players on that listing. That should cover the plans I have for the draft. Now then, can we please at least agree on the starting date? -
Ultimate Championship Wrestling
Lightning Flik replied to Lightning Flik's topic in General Wrestling
June 2nd, 2004 World Wrestling Entertainment have apparently managed to smooth things over with D’Lo Brown as rumors have it that D’Lo was recently resigned by the big guys. Here’s hoping that D’Lo gets a second chance at proving he has what it takes to be something for the WWE. In a recent turn of events that shall shock the wrestling world to its core, TNA has managed to sign Bret Hart to a contract. It is not known when he shall first appear on their programming, but you can bet that this will only make TNA look better in their push to become the #1 federation in the world. IWA-PR has managed to sign Low-Ki to a date or three. Should be interesting to see what Low-Ki will bring to their product. And finally, UCW managed to get a 0.98 on the Neilson Rating scale. Pretty decent show overall. Here’s hoping this can only get better. +++ June 2nd, 2004 -
It's been long overdue since I've done this thing that many EWRPs (Extreme Warfare Revenge Players) do. I've never really done it because I can't be funny or serious, I'm somewhere inbetween with my writing skills and frankly, it's been a long time since I've written any stories. Poems and some short writings I still pull off, but full out shit? It's been quite awhile. Go ask SJL (ie: SWF's developmental fed) when that was. Yes, it has been that long. Why have I suddenly decided to do a diary for EWR 4.2 when TEW is coming out? Becuase I made an open challenge to three other people, and most likely any three people that step up for the quad threat diary will severely kick my ass unless I test out my writing skills at least a little bit. Please note this will be update unfrequently, as I'm not sure how often I'll be able to do this. So updates will not be on a consistant basis. Diary entries would be done in blue, notes from other days that I'm not bothering to slap together to create a diary entry will be in red, and shows will be in green. The Prologue is in black because I needed SOMEWHERE to start. Also please note that I’m currently in May and just backtracking till I get to June. As soon as you see the final May show posted, I will then be accepting feedback and ideas for UCW. Hence, I give you my created Canadian fed, Ultimate Championship Wrestling (UCW). Some backnotes before I go into the actual diary: ~ This fed takes place of Pro Wrestling Iron with a few modifications. PI is still the same, cash is boosted to 5 million though. No TV show, and no wrestlers retained from PWI. The PWI International Wrestling title is scraped. Two wrestlers were specifically created for UCW, that being Leo Branford and Marcus Chavayada. Yes, they are created wrestling superstars that have some highly scaled stats and are written to a full year contract at $5,000 (any grand in money denomination is referred to as a k from now on) a month. Excuse me? Haven't you heard of Ultimate Championship Wrestling? You know! That new wrestling federation that's to debute itself in western Canada? Phift, you crummy Easterners. Anything that comes from western Canada you ignore like the plague, don't you? Ease up, I jest. Geezus, you Ontarions get really picky over a simple joke. Alright, alright, I'm sorry. I won't make any more jokes about Ontarions and you don't belittle me to death. As for the Americans, they are fair game still, right? Sorry, sorry. I didn't know you were originally American born. Must've been hard for you to come to Canada, and then realize that "OMG~! THEY ARE DIFFERENT FROM US~!" *TWACK* Ack, alright, no more pathetic jokes like that. I promise... Ok, I promise without my fingers crossed, happy? What? What do you mean, who am I? I told you that. Oh, you mean about UCW and how am I connected with it. Dammit, thought I derailed your train of thought enough so I wouldn't have to do this crap. I hate beginnings, they are ever so boring. You sure you aren't going to let me just get on with this? Ok, ok, I'll start already with how everything came to be. Just do-*TWACK*JUST LET ME START ALREADY~! +++ Chapter 1: Beginnings Are A Bitch It was a nice bright day, today. Well, if it wasn't for the snow and freezing rain, it would be nice and bright, but really it was nice and bright because of other reasons. No, my girlfriend didn't just give me the greatest sex I've ever had. I had a vision of absolute beauty. An idea that would revolutionize my life that normal people just wouldn't understand unless it had happened to them. Dammit, no. I didn't just have two girls go down on me, proclaim they loved whoreship the ground I walk on and love not only myself but each other as well. It's just that I fulfilled a dream that many just wouldn't be able to understand. Ok, this has nothing to do with sex. But I'll be damned to say I would've loved that to have happened to me too. Ahem, anyways, as I was saying I had achieved what many others only wished they could do: I finally realized my childhood dream! Ever since I was little and watched Wrestlemania, I wanted to become a promoter of a wrestling company. Sure, I wouldn't mind just making it as a wrestler, but let's be honest, I doubt my lanky 5'9" 160lbs body would justifiably be able to take some of the sick crap they do. Besides, I like the business aspect of the job better. I mean, all the glory of Wrestlemania was Vince McMahon's. Let's face it, it didn't matter what really happened at Wrestlemania, or who faced whom at any of the shows. Wrestlemania will always be associated with Vincent Kennedy McMahon, even after the bastard is long off dead. To me, being the guy in charge of a wrestling company, would just kick ass. I can't really put into words what it is like to be able to be my own promoter, other than it rocks a lot. But as I was about to tell you, I managed to secure financial means via a couple of very friendly companies that were willing to put up some money to help me out. It also helped that they were my best buddies during high school and figured that by helping a bum out like myself, they'd be doing the world a service. That, and they were tired of me repeatedly phoning them and begging like a sad little puppy dog about how they weren't my best friends since they all got great jobs and couldn't help out the guy that did them so many favors when they were kids (I even saved one of their lives) that the least they could do was help me out with my dream. And so it was they who lent me the money I requested of them and then some. On one condition of course. In one year's time, I must return 5 million dollars to them. Hence, if I can't repay them, I lose any money I have left and my company to them. To which they'll sell off for remaining profit. However, I couldn't careless about picky little details like that. As long as I had my company I would just make it big no matter what it would take. I'll show the world that I'm the real deal~! /// February 1st, 2004 Well, today is the very official first day of Ultimate Championship Wrestling~! I feel so proud of myself. Sure, the name is corny and kinda plain, but I don't care! I'm living out my dream! I'm making life happen! I don't care about anything else. That was until I met my assistant, Sophie. Cause like, DAMN~! She's just a fine, fine lady. She comes up to me all sweet and coyish and cutely says, "Hey there, Ty. You don't mind if I call you Ty, do you? No? Good, now then, I'm going to ... help you out and make sure that no stressful thing ever happens to you, ok?" ...ok, so that didn't really happen, can you blame me? If you were given an assistant named Sophie that looked as good as her and she was so friendly to you, wouldn't you say some bullshit like that? Ok, that didn't happen, but she did say, "Hello Mr. Jefferson, I'm your assistant, Sophie. I'm employeed to you via your friends to make sure that you are adequately able to perform your job." Yup, so basically she's telling me my friend's don't trust me and if I screw up in any such fashion, I'm dead to the world. Wonderful. But I digress, on with what I need to do. I told Sophie that I needed to hire a whole bunch of good wrestlers, I gave her a list of a lot of good ones. Like AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, and since I needed a great player even if it kills me: Hulk Hogan. She immediately shredded my list and shook her head, "Do you even have a clue, Mr. Jefferson? You can't possibly sign those guys. Let alone get one to show up to a federation like ours. You'll have to find quite a few unknowns, or Indy wrestlers with reputations of good wrestling skills." First of all, she didn't have to be so blunt. Second of all, she had a point. I replied with calming cool ease, "Fine then. Get me a listing of whom you'd think should join us from around here, and I'll whip up a couple of people from the rest of the world." She immediately pulled out a list that she most likely prepared before hand. "Thought you might need some inspiration. Here's a current list of wrestlers whom I've found are interested in working for us for the right price. Quite a few cult names, while a lot of unknowns as well. Should be the best place to start." My eyes travelled from her to the list and then back to her. I was pretty much stunned, but she shook her head at me. "You should probably get on this list right away, we don't have that much time before our first show and I'd be afraid of us having to cancel it and you having already a major setback right away." I snatched the list from her hands and immediately set to work for finding some good quality stars for my federation. But as soon as I looked at the listing, I paused and thought about it. Just what type of wrestlers did I want? Did I want the HARDCORE nutz? Did I want the spotty high flyers? Did I want the mat wizards? Or maybe some nice comedy wrestling? What was UCW all about? I decided to take the name and work from that starting point. Ultimate Championship Wrestling would symbolize that UCW is all about Ultimate Competition. That only the best would come there. That only the best would compete against the best. Meaning I would need not wrestlers of a specific genre of style but wrestlers prolific in all styles and can perform the most complex, emotional matches out there. ...but a flaw in that is most of them aren't that savvy in angles or storylines and to get an audience you NEED that to have a chance in making it in this business. So frankly I was stumped. I needed wrestlers of high charisma, but also wrestlers that could make magic happen in the ring. Not the easiest combinations to slam together. However, I dug deep into the lists and notes Sophie had given me. I spent most of the night trying to get certain wrestlers to confirm or deny that they would be participating at my very first show, Lost Cause. It took a lot of Cola and any other awakening drug that could safely digest, but when the dawn finally came, I had a roster that will hopefully last me till the card on February 29th, 2004. /// February 12th, 2004 Card for February 29th, 2004 – Lost Cause Ultimate Championship Wrestling presents a tourney for the Ultimate Championship: Qualifier 1 will see: Adam Windsor vs. Donovan Morgan vs. Marcus Chavayada (local talent) vs. Tommy Diablo Qualifier 2 will see: Sonny Siaki vs. CM Punk vs. J.R. Thankfully, I’ve got three new guys to debut at this show as mystery opponents, so everything is looking good. Oh, and Sophie decided to tell me something important. “Mr. Jefferson, who exactly is going to be winning the tournament? I better get on that right away. /// February 22nd, 2004 Card for February 29th, 2004 – Lost Cause Qualifier 1: Adam Windsor vs. Donovan Morgan vs. Marcus Chavayada vs. Tommy Diablo Qualifier 2: Sonny Siaki vs. CM Punk vs. J.R.
