You know, if I was traded earlier than I was, I might've had better stats, since I'm now an Eel. Eddy J shall be a decent individual for any team. Though never amount to much. ...hm... Says I've got great leadership skills. Weird.

Oh... I thought it was EA only... Forgot about SI completely. Hm... Funny, didn't SI also decide to help out with EA recently in their college games?

^ is refering to Taker. ...right? ^^ it's a form of what is known Shinji (^^^'s avatar) bashing. Or at least < takes it as such. Just so ^^^ knows, < is assuming it is meant to be bashing ^^^'s avatar.

And this is a big deal how so? I'm not getting it. Seriously.

Interesting... Mine was making that noise long before HTCP though. Hm... I guess it just might be mine's a different case then. -
FF12 revealed (broadband-sized picture inside)
Lightning Flik replied to Jobber of the Week's topic in Video Games
True... Quite true, at least on the market place. As for the hero - and we are assuming the guy is the hero - if he's a mercenary or that, why would he wear armor? More specifically the full-plated armor. In Japan, it was against the law for anyone not of the Samuri (knighthood, technically) to wear armor or use katanas (swords). So it's sorta just a thing the Japanese have with why they don't have heros who aren't of the noblity with armor, and frankly, it was also practiced throughout the world during the dark ages. Hence he probably isn't a knight (maybe knight in training?) and also, I doubt he'd use a sword. Perhaps we'll see the weapon known as Squall as the main character's (assumption on him being lead of course) weapon? Why do I get that inference? Because, when hasn't an FF character who's wielded a blade in a steam-punk world, not been a knight/warrior? I said steam-punk, so please remember that FF7 & FF8 are not included. And I don't think he looks anything at all like a warrior fo sorts, so I doubt it. With the armor on the legging, I'm half tempted to say that his body is his weapon, and for the first time since FF1, we get a Monk class as our main character (I disregard Sabin, becuase it really was more of Terra/Celes as the main character of FFVI, at least in my opinion). On top of that, you can assume a lot of things from FFXII's hero. First of all, he's probably just a vagabond that is searching for adventure. Since he's traveling the world, armor would be the least of his concerns because of practicality. I mean, think about it, if you are using a lot of money to travel the world, you can't readily justify that he has the money to spend on full-plated armor (the upkeep alone has to be dreadful on the pocket change). Also it's probably a very warm climate they are in, hence the very leisurely shirt. Armor is also hot and sweaty and very tiresome to care about everywhere. Now, the bottom half of his pants are covered in armorplates. Why? Probably because he rides a chocobo often (again, using the adventure assumption) and they seem to be getting a prominent role in this game. Hopefully they get a role in this game besides being fodder for "OH~! CHOCOBOS~!" moment. Why does him riding Chocobos make that armor important? For bushes, branches, and the like. Then again, this all based on assumption, so I'll probably be proven wrong. But a lot of what is known as standards in the FF world, I think you can reasonably conclude will be true. And thanks for the compliment on the bag. It helps when you have a fascination for the fantasy world, that you (meaning myself) sorta realize the simplistic nature of why such things are. Also, I was going to comment that he (hero?) DOES look like he's related to Paine, and really bishonish, but I thought I was just getting too used to bishonen characters that I was starting to look for it. As for Bangaa's, I'm happy they are getting a timely role now. They weren't a bad race, and thought they could be developed more. Since it's obvious they are going to be used in FFX2 (not to be confused with FFX-2), I'm kinda guessing we'll probably get Moogles back into the party as well. Hopefully. Edit: One last thing, can we get that pic resized? Is stretching out my screen badly and I'm running higher than 800x640. -
Don't remind me about the SaGa games... I'm SO pissed with the entire series. Ugh~!

Whoops~! Was looking at my final month of play in the season and accidently used that one. Sorry about the wrong OBP. I was wondering about the .352 being any good or not. ...heck, I'm not even sure if a .292 average is that good. That's how little I know about baseball stats.

FF12 revealed (broadband-sized picture inside)
Lightning Flik replied to Jobber of the Week's topic in Video Games
...um... Yah... I just said something to that effect Jobber. I'll contradict you Jobber on the carrying the bag like a purse. Back when (since this game seems to be going back to that steam-punk era) in real life people actually carried bags like that. It was in case they couldn't get ahold of their weapon (which I'm guessing in "Queer Eye"'s case will probably be a sword) they could use the bag as a means of defense. If it's down at your side, it isn't as effective because you still have to lift it up, if it's already up, you can just swing away. And so? Chocobos are the primary mount of the FF worlds. Hence it only makes it logical that if there are knights, they would use chocobos. Oh? Played FF11? Cool. At least I got someone's perspective whom I sorta know (from the boards at least) who's played it now. -
Ok... I know this is meant as a joke, but um... If it's here in the gaming forum, everyone's heard it. BTW, I'm actually disappointed with Asheron's Call 2. With all the hype it got from Microsoft, I was expecting a lot more. Well at least more than what was given. Add to the fact, I'm tired of them "nerfing" practically everything there is in the game. Add in that they are STILL working on fixing skills (a full year later when it was said to only take 3 months); there is no economy whatsoever; no storage space unless using spoof characters; regular loot is pathetic at best and the Quest loot is downright abusive (in that there is no point to regular loot); "Hero" equipment needs Arcane Lore to use it (and Arcane Lore is untrainable unless you do a specified quest); some classes are useless now (Tacticians and High Leveled Rangers [more do to they don't have a specified role] come to mind); crafting downright blows since you can't create a level 50 weapon or armor and must find Quest/Unique loot; and probably the worst of it, the first major storyline has JUST BE STARTED~! ...but just to add, I'm still playing AC2. Why? Because my dad introduced it to me, and probably the only reason I'm staying is because of him. If it was me, I would've bailed out by now.

FF12 revealed (broadband-sized picture inside)
Lightning Flik replied to Jobber of the Week's topic in Video Games
Um... Jobber. Get some facts straight. "Shorts Girl" is a combination rip off of Garnet and Yuna. "Queer Eye" is a rip off of Zidane and Tidus. Men riding chocobos is a bad thing...? How? And don't give up on FF. I'm about to try out FFXI. I'll let you know on what I find. Might not be half bad. Besides, I won't bitch about this game till I've gotten a chance to play it. Like any other game lately. Then again, like most RPGs lately, I've been utterly disappointed with them. So we'll see what happens. ...gotta admit, I like "Queer Eye"'s pants. -
Alright. Vick might be back here soon. ...hopefully he does well.

74? DAMN~! That's a lot of SBs. Oh, and I just checked out my OPB. That's pretty good, having a .392 right? I'm not very good with stats like that.

TMD, you do know that even though you have season stats, that you can use the EXP you gain from the matches and stuff to build up those reg season stats? Right? So if your Strength is a problem, increase it. Simple as that. Yeah I know....but I also like to do build myself from the ground up. So I started with every stat at 1. Since you are using. Follow this template: Strength is your priority. Endurance comes secondary. Technical is third. Speed is fourth. Submission is fifth. So if you've been building up it should be something like this: St: 8 Su: 2 En: 7 Te: 5 Sp: 4 -
Geezus... Do I suck at Fantasy Pools... I mean, here I am losing yet again.
-
...is there any lawyer that ISN'T in it for the money?
-
No, it's not "almost impossible". If anything the flaw with building up is that it's too easy..... Leveling up in it is pointless most of the time. Even at level 100 your base stats suck. Getting good stats is all about intelligent junctioning either from knowing where to draw or refining. You can get insane strength without fighting battles and it takes very little time. *shakes head* That's probably my #1 complaint against FF8. Junctioning was really quite backwards and really hurt the gameplay immensely when you can bypass leveling using it. Remember that second time through? Beat the game with Squall at 40. My other characters barely reaching 25ish. Oh. And Aura or whatever it is called is the cheapest spell in the game. And the item that does the same.

I was about to say that isn't all that bad, but MJ only lasted 22 of 33 games, I'll agree with you. And he's still better than me though. Edit: Hm... Found out Eddy J was injured on 9/17/2007 with a Broken Wrist, out for full season. How many games he miss? Cause if he missed quite a bit of games, he might've broken the SB record. And maybe have better stats as well. Perhaps 100RBIs? Guess he's pretty decent then.
-
^ should know that it is <'s nature.
-
So I was 3 shy of beating the steals record? Nice.
-
^ Aussie man. ^^ did it for the exact reason ^^ says ^^ forgets whom < is.
-
Because there were 48 SBs thrown in with the solid hitting numbers. 48? Wow. That's definitely a lot of them. What's the record?
