    Woonsocket High School Presents: Cryptopsy

RI is just an annex of Massachusetts youre a Masshole by territory-rights j/k it basically is all lumped intogether (those 2 NE states) i actually prefer the RI area/scene over Boston plus RI/Providence has better strip clubs ..hands down (or hands on to be exact)

    Reebok buys The Hockey Company

i dont see reebok making money off of it its more of an image thing with them going towards world sports domination then again maybe they can because they are a great company ..i was offered a job with them back in 01 around when they got the NFL contract and while i would have liked it better turned it down for my current job in insurance for more money..its always in teh back of my head to go to them..their facilities alone are awe-inspiring full regulation basketball courts hoisted in mid air practically, full gyms and other playing fields are great to have on hand in your job, plus the discounts and celebrities who are always in *logs off to re-apply*

    Lollapalooza 2004

yeah they should have tried to play smaller places or something cause the masses werent hering the ads or seeing the lineup and saying "man i have to go" either that or tried to mix in some current hot bands even one day of more popular/commercial artists and one day of the lineup that they had there were rumors that pixies would play the local (Mass.) stop as well d'oh! at least curiosa (Cure, Thursday, Interpol, Rapture etc) is doing well cant wait for that

When a band sets up a record label

"sorry to bring up the dreaded Limp Bizkit, but isn't Durst's label doing alright? " i think only puddle is on his label not positive but pretty sure: he helped cold and staind get the deals and gets points off their sales for brokering the deals (like korn does for every bizkit record sold)

    I,MAX

anyone been watching? i finally got to catch an episode last friday pretty hard to watch IMO im not a fan of kellerman but like Around the Horn and figured i would give this a shot especially after i heard holley quit the boston globe (again) to be the right hand man along with disembodied voice here's my problems with it everyones way too frantic even judging against the similar shows of the type..especially holley..it seems like someone is always ticking him in unmentionable areas the pause button V.me or whatever it is is arguably the worst gimmick ive ever scene on shows of this ilk..for some reason theres a huge difference between someone getting cut off with a mute on ATH and getting frozen and distorted here that "tap tap tap" for 10 seconds remaining is grating the rhyming of imax on the commercial outs (a la horn's outros) seems forced max's ego and/or the egocentric nature of the show is on steroids now..max vs the world?? yipes just yipes anybody else tried it? liked it at all?

    Coolest song parts?

The break in Slayer's raining blood before the guitar kicks in and/or right at "awaiting the hour of reprisal your time slips...a..way *drums*" OR towards the end of Pantera's domination at the end of the guitar shriek OR when the door closes/the audio changes in Pink Floyd's "wish you were here"

When a band sets up a record label

it makes you wonder why labels continuously keep giving these away to artists when they are hot other failures Korn's Elementree (Videodrone, Orgy, Deadsy, Marz) Trent Reznor's nothing records (Marilyn Manson, Pop Will Eat Itself, Prick, Meat Beat Manifesto and many, many others) this one was interesting to watch because reznor basically signed all the bands he liked or was friendly with and outside of arguably one manson record there was no money coming in the door

Anyone else heard rumors of a Hornets move?

"I doubt the NBA will let them move so soon after moving out of Charlotte" as nl5x pointed out yes the league is pushing for the move they had to go somewhere, anywhere to get away from the hate in charlotte towards the owner so NO was an option even if it turns out to be temporary

    Ray Charles

have the details now: BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - Ray Charles (news), the Grammy-winning crooner who blended gospel and blues in such crowd-pleasers as "What'd I Say" and heartfelt ballads like "Georgia on My Mind," died Thursday, a spokesman said. He was 73. Canadian Press Photo Slideshow: Music Legend Ray Charles Dies at 73 Charles died at his Beverly Hills home surrounded by family and friends, said spokesman Jerry Digney. Charles last public appearance was alongside Clint Eastwood (news) on April 30, when the city of Los Angeles designated the singer's studios, built 40 years ago in central Los Angeles, as a historic landmark. Blind by age 7 and an orphan at 15, Charles spent his life shattering any notion of musical boundaries and defying easy definition. A gifted pianist and saxophonist, he dabbled in country, jazz, big band and blues, and put his stamp on it all with a deep, warm voice roughened by heartbreak from a hardscrabble childhood in the segregated South. "His sound was stunning — it was the blues, it was R&B, it was gospel, it was swing — it was all the stuff I was listening to before that but rolled into one amazing, soulful thing," singer Van Morrison (news) told Rolling Stone magazine in April. Charles won nine of his 12 Grammy Awards between 1960 and 1966, including the best R&B recording three consecutive years ("Hit the Road Jack," "I Can't Stop Loving You" and "Busted"). His versions of other songs are also well known, including "Makin' Whoopee" and a stirring "America the Beautiful." Hoagy Carmichael and Stuart Gorrell wrote "Georgia on My Mind" in 1931 but it didn't become Georgia's official state song until 1979, long after Charles turned it into an American standard.
  18. So the Boston Police's Union decided to protest around the Democratic National Convention to bring light to their issues (which i wont get into becaue its irrelevant for the point) amongst all the attention that is gettign a story came out about a deli that was feverishly protested when it's owner crossed a previous picket line to attend the Mayor's speech (he was a pucbli "friend" of the mayor) still to this day the police protest and boycott this deli because of that..only problem is theres a new owner who has nothign to do with the previous owner and has no public affiliations with any parties yet constantly loses business as prospective customers are scared or crossing current protests/picketers outside the deli when policemen have been either told or, in some cases, reminded that its a totally different owner they reply with comments such as "i dont care!" and "maybe it would end if he came out in public support of us and stated for the record that he himself would never cross a line" why should this propreitor be bullied into pledging allegience OR be punished for something he had nothing to do with? He is now in legal proceeding to try and void the sale because of all these problems
