    Brutus Beefcake bust

Body slam: T scare lands ex-grappler in rehab By Laurel J. Sweet Friday, February 13, 2004 He was the pec-perfect model for a toy action figure and a cartoon character puzzle, but it's former pro wrestling giant Brutus ``The Barber'' Beefcake who's gone to pieces. Beefcake - these days Edward Leslie, 46, of Winchester - voluntarily checked into a treatment program Monday, according to a source, after cocaine he admitted was his created an anthrax scare at the MBTA's Downtown Crossing subway station. Sources said the man who acquired his stage name for hacking off the hair of his enemies in the ring had been working there part time as a fare collector - a job that pays $25,000 a year. ``He was a big star for the World Wrestling (Federation),'' Buck Woodward, a columnist for the online magazine Pro Wrestling Insider, said yesterday of Leslie. ``During the '80s wrestling boom he became popular because he was very good friends with Hulk Hogan.'' But behind the colossal bronzed chest and TV set of his own wrestling talk show, ``The Barber Shop,'' Leslie's life was headed for the ropes. In 1990, his face was reconstructed with plates and bolts after a freak parasailing accident. Last April, the IRS slammed him with a lien for $57,425, according to records. The MBTA confirmed yesterday they have an employee named Edward Leslie, but would not say if he was the one they suspended without pay after cocaine turned up Sunday afternoon on the counter of a Downtown Crossing fare booth, prompting an emergency hazmat response. ``Right now it's only an internal disciplinary matter,'' said MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo. ``He has been cooperative with police.'' Although the subway station was evacuated, MBTA Deputy Police Chief Thomas McCarthy said the fare collector - who he also would not identify - spared commuters further inconvenience by coming clean and dispelling terrorism fears. Leslie's wife, Barbara, did not return a call yesterday. Leslie was easily earning ``six figures'' in his heyday, said Woodward, noting that such falls from fame in the world of wrestling ``have happened before. There are guys who wasted their money, just like a rock star.''

UYI, you can be that prick i knew it didnt "really" go here ive been on the board for a long time usually when theres a big story though some people put it here for the most traffic a mod can move it at their discretion i was shocked to even find out he works on the T up here..i was just up at Harvard last saturday if i handed over a token to the barber on my way up there/back with a stop in downtown boston id probably do a double take of course since he is suspended for now if he comes back im hopping on the train and kicking a friend through the token booth's plexiglas window to signify the breakup of our tag team

    Max Kellerman leaves ESPN

i dont agree in giving him time because he guest hosted a few times before so he should already be acclimated with the show i shouldnt harp too much about the points themselves cause they dont really "matter" its more that they keep blabbing cause instead of sta boy cutting them off they are like "hey im getting more points so ill go on and on and on" monday or tuesday he spent like 3 minutes getting woody to say something stupid just so he could mute him at the beginning and im like "MOTHER F*CKER! we need to start talking about clarrett (or whatever the big story that day was)" can we get disembodied voice to host it? LOL and could they please dump the J-LO/Flahdance thing before commercial break?? that thing gets played at least 4 times a week on the outro to commercial and she doesnt even look her best in that

    Euro Trip movie question

thank you i thought it was but wanted some confirmation i think ive seen that shot where she is taking off the top over 100 times now cause ive seen the commercial on everything its not enough to get me into the theater to see it though because it looks kind of stupid but it is a must renter

    Max Kellerman leaves ESPN

jeez i was in the dark on this one thought he was just on vacation (when stat boy usually just fills in) why the heck is his picture still in the gold medal for face time?!? stat boy gets a big boner for everyone and that boner rests on the points button max used to top out at like 2 point increases per "scpiel" stat boy reali hits the thing 5 times during every statement so we get 50 and 60 point totals and some of the topics drag on forever now..all due to Stat boy he even wastes a lot of time for the big finish by going on and on and on during PTI's errors and omissions too bad i liek most of the panelists on "horn" otherwise id just watch that espnnews show thats on around the same time the hot list or whatever with the top 10 stories kellerman could be kind of annoying but he looks a lot better now in comparison

    Kataklysm vs Dez Fafara

"I thought Coal Chamber was one of those old metal bands, around before nu-metal got started? Eh" Coal Chamber's first album came out right before the 1st touring ozzfest in 1997(as in the second one because the first one was limited to a few shows out west..i think they played some of those shows but dont remember for sure cause i was not there) they were managed by sharon osbourne and played the second stage on that 1st touring ozzfest..most of the stuff was so korn-ish they were dubbed Korn chamber they had a nice little following and people were into them live they also did a tour i saw them on with (coincidentally from kataklysm's comments) Sevendust and (former boston hometown boys) powerman 5000..there were just kind of "there" cause their sound was aped heavily yet no so offensive as say the vanilla ice korn album their last tour for the 1st album was on the main stage at ozzfest 98 (with sevendust, tool, bizkit, megadeth, soulfly) and let's just say their sound and delivery on that tour on the big stage made the previous year on the small stage and their club shows sound like mozart..brutally bad dez got so offended by the korn comparisons the band radically tried to alter its sound on Chamber Music the second album and between the alterations, the delays in releasing it and the horrid horrid cover of "Shock the Monkey" with sugar daddy Ozzy made that album D.O.A. they split with sharon as manage after that (which good or bad in motives killed them even further) released a third album (that actually sounded like their best work when i took a sampling) that bombed worse and a "rarities" which unfortunatley if you dont make the cut on the 1st two coal chamber albums thats the crap of the crap right there then he started Devildriver..to his credit he hass always been a fan of "true" heavier metal he has always talked about it in interviews since the beginning but he should not try to act like CC didnt happen especially after his many comments that CC was "forever" and his tatoos of the (awful looking IMO) logo so anyway, yes CC was "nu-metal" and kind of had the "honor" of being the first clone band because if you count a Korn as the daddies (and FNM for example as a grandfather) and deftones and limp bizkit as the first few bands (who, like them or not, at least added something different) and this is just about the most words you'll ever see dedicated to Coal Chamber outside of like their site or a dedicated site..which is too say it's far too many words lol

    The Darkness

it's definetly not schtick they fully believe in it as some may now from olden days here im a huge hair metal fan (cause im an old bastard) so this is right up my alley hitting my area in boston and providence on april 3rd and 4th im going to "put on my bad-ass red jeans" and rock out cause "I dont need no instructions to know how to ROCK!" (hopes someone can place those quotes) much better stuff on the album that "believe in a thing.." for those who havent checked it out yet best IMO is "get your hands off of my woman" motherfuuuuuuuuucker!!
