Please don't bump these threads anymore. Just read them.

    News from Meltzer

No one will ever be allowed to get to "Steve Austin" or "Rock" like levels as long as HHH is in charge. John Cena is currently the closest guy they got to that level despite him still being far from it.

    RVD on Byte This

It's like Livewire without the screeners.

    WWE 24/7 Online February Listings

In a pleasant surprise, the 2-ring battle royal from GAB89 is actually the War Games match from the same event.

    ECW Hat Guy

IIRC, he was also at SummerSlam 1996.
  6. There better be room in that booking for Art Barr and his kid.
  7. (After showing an angle w/ Orton and the underage daughter making out in the ring) Vince: We here at WWE feel a responsibility . . . well moreso than that, an obligation to see to it that the spirit of Eddy Guerrero never dies. He was a one of a kind and to give the fans a chance to forget him would be a great injustice to our audience. I've had many conversations w/ his lovely wife Vicky, and we came to the conclusion that this is the direction WWE should go. You have to remember, we tell stories . . . just like CSI, just like Law and Order, and just like the West Wing. Some uninformed detractors would feel that we are exploiting the death of Eddie Guerrero and that simply is just not the case. I don't think any level-minded person would disagree with that. Which brings me to my duty of letting our great fans know about WrestleMania 22 . . . *Vince Shill Mode ON* LIVE!!! IN CHI TOWN!!!! ONLY ON PAY PER VIEW AND WWE.COM!!!!!!!!! IT'S WWWRRRRREEEEESSSSTTTTTTLLLLLLLEEEEE MMMAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNNIIIIIIAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!

    ECW Hat Guy

I thought Vladimir was the tan, fairly ripped guy w/ the top who attended a lot of MSG shows in the 1980s. Pink Jacket man has got to be someonoe else . . . or else the tan guy is someone else. Bah, I dunno.
  9. Speaking of which, considering how attractive Eddie's oldest daughter is, don't dismiss the idea of Vince trying to use her in that sort of angle, even if she is under-age. Vince: You know, a little plastic surgery never hurts Eddie's daughter: I'm 14. Vince: Oh don't worry, we'll pay for it.

ECW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

Not much of anything if I remember right. He popped up w/ The Impact Players at the ECW Arena before Anarchy Rulz 1999 to attack RVD and a couple other faces (TNN). This led to what was supposed to be RVD vs. Johnny Smith for the TV Title but Balls/Axl (I believe it was them) wiped him out at the ppv so Balls could get the title shot instead. I don't believe Smith ever showed up again.

When are they gonna add RR88 and the Slaughter/Patterson Bootcamp Match I keep hearing so much about? Funny how the one Attitude match on there has the turnbuckles covered up. Flair/Rhodes from Starrcade 84 is a nice touch though.

Smackdown Spoilers for the Febuary 3rd Show

Looks like Vince isn't the only one exploiting Eddie's death. Speaking of Vince, he was the 1st #2 entrant to win the Rumble in 99. He'll be pissed when he reads this!

    The Old School questions thread

Another ECW question . . . Did Rhino ever blade in ECW? I don't recall ever seeing a trickle of blood leave his body during his entire run . . . and he wrestled New Jack. If he never did bleed, was it because Heyman wanted to protect his monster aura by not having him hemmorage all over the place? Was it coincidence? Or did he bleed every now and then and I just didn't see it?

Can you expand on that Haas? What exactly happened between DiBiase/Murdoch?

Vince McMahon Not Happy With Joey Styles

100% agreed. He gave the matches an air of legitimacy. He would sometimes chat about the purse money for each match. As stated, explaining the effectiveness of certain holds was crucial in getting into other not so important matches like Hercules vs. Dino Bravo for example. Plus, he taught me what the external occipital pretuberence was. Ever drop that in a conversation? It was also nice to see an announcer forecast a 3-count and actually watch the ref count three rather than hearing McMahon's usual "ONETWOHEGOTHIMHEGOTHIMNOHEDIDN'T!!! UNBELIEVABLE!!!" when it was barely a 2-count. Also, I'm really not sure when Monsoon ever put himself over the wrestlers. Kinda went off on a tangent there but having an effective play-by-play man like Monsoon is vital for being able to enhance the enjoyment of a typical match.

Vince McMahon Not Happy With Joey Styles

*McMahon grabs Styles by the arm and starts to drag him to his office* McMahon: I NEED TO TALK TO YOU!!! Styles: Do you really think you should be exerting that much pressure on your quad by walking like that. Remember Vince, it was just one year ago, right here at the Royal Rumble where you tore that same quad right off the bone! Granted, you had an amazing recovery time but some of us internally are concerned that tonight may not be your lucky night. I mean sure things went your way in your confrontation with Shawn Michaels but remember Vince, it took TWO guys to get him out of the Rumble! What's gonna happen tomorrow night when I'm sure the HeartBreak Kid will want to confront you one-on-one?!? And speaking of confrontations with Shawn Michaels, you can believe Mama Benjamin will be piping mad at her boy Shelton for not quite achieving his goals of eliminating The Icon and winning the Royal Rumble. So many tremendous happenings on tap for tomorrow night on Monday Night Raw on the USA Network 9 Eastern, 8 Central! And don't forget WWE.COM Unlimited during the commercial breaks. The action never stops! Oh my God! McMahon: GET THE F OUT!!!

    Most underrated and overrated pppvs

I'll have to disagree on a couple things. For one, Pittman/Cobra was obviously too short to be shitty. Pittman coming down from the ceiling and destroying the "feared" Cobra was pretty entertaining as it's always nice to see a crappy newcomer get his ass handed to him. Also, the whole segment didn't last 10 minutes so no wasted time. Renegade/DDP has to be taken for what it was. It was a comedy match w/ DDP bumping around like Renegade was the Ultimate Warrior. Plus, it ended the usefulness of another horrible WCW gimmick. So bonus points for that. Can't remember much from the tag match. And no argument in regards to the War Games match but I must note that the Giant was lookin lean and mean . . . much different than today's bloated and puffy Big Show. Plus, Luger's comical selling of Meng's strikes upon his entrance cracks me up to this day. I sure hope it was meant to be comical . . . if not, it's even funnier.

    OAO Raw Thread for 1/30/06

It's not even a spear, it looks like if your girl hasn't seen you in a long time and rushes to hug you. It's just Edge hugging someone gently to the canvas. His lifting DDT and his submission hold were about 100 times better than the Huggles. The Huggles . . . hit the nail on the head. Almost like seeing your girl run to hug you but trip and fall about a foot before she makes it to ya causing her to hug your waist. I mean if Edge used it as a basic takedown move, that'd be fine. But to WIN matches w/ it is completely unacceptable. And his submission move was a great hold . . . whatever it was called but it looked pretty uncomfortable to me.

Until Edge eliminates the spear from his moveset, I will laugh at his pity party.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

My favorite 3 Count markout moment was when Shannon/Shane almost went through their song two full times at Spring Stampede 2000 before being blitzed by virtually the whole CW division. It was just so ridiculous to use up 5 minutes or so for that when there was about 12-14 matches to get through that night. I loved it. Question --- Any particular reason that WCW Worldwide was always a week behind in 2000? Or was it my affiliate that was an ep late? They'd recap stuff that happened 2 weeks ago . . . but I'd stay and watch for Angry Allan Funk and Above Average Mike Sanders' tag match (I believe they called themselves the Reinforcers). Ironic since Funk did 95% of the talking for the team.
  23. I thought that's why they brought him in. Ted : "See Terry Funk and Dick Murdoch had big move sets that allowed them many options to use as finishers. If we give our guys a few new moves they can tell a better in ring story" Creative team: "We book 3 min matches. We need high spots Ted! HIGH SPOTS!" Ted: High spots? I thought Vince was trying to slow down the matches so the workers can pace their matches better. Creative: What have you been smoking? *Snickering amongst the team and now ignoring DiBiase* So, we have Benjamin and Venis tonight. What's the finish . . . oh yeah, almost forgot, Venis gets stabbed in the ass by Mama Benjamin. Ted:
