As a Browns fan, the AFC Championship Game will be really depressing. I still have nightmares of the Drive and the Fumble. Not to mention the jealousy we Cleveland fans have for the Steelers. To top it off, Denver has 4 of the Browns' defensive linemen from last year.

Minor Weird Things Wrestlers Have Done
MillenniumMan831 replied to ChrisMWaters's topic in General Wrestling
So, I'm watching another Challenge ep (this one from early 1995 when they could barely fill a high school gymnasium), and two things come to mind. #1 ----- I forgot how entertaining Mr. Bob Backlund was. After squashing some poor ham-n-egger w/ the chicken wing, a bunch of referees came in to break it up. They were unsuccessful. So, 2 jobbers enter (one being Chris Kanyon) and finally pry Backund off only for him to put it on the non-Kanyon jobber. So, Kanyon gets Backlund to break the hold again. After standing around in a daze, Backlund finally decides to leave. However, I was scratching my head as Kanyon turned his back to Backlund in an effort to help the 2 shmucks out. I was SO hoping for Backlund to pop the hold on Kanyon just so he could leave everyone laying. #2 ----- Mark Starr wrestled a squash. Boy, this guy was hot jobber property. I remember him almost every week on Worldwide in 1993-94 getting beat in the "Jim Powers" role where he gets some solid token offense since he's an athletic guy. Then, he pops up on Challenge to job to Davey Boy Smith (and probably others) in 1995 only to go back to job in WCW later that year until about 1997. I'd love to be a fly on the wall during those negotiations. -
And let's not forget Albert's (just before he became A-Train) Velocity push going on at about the same time. I think they alternated weeks pounding on Funaki.

As dumb as it is to do the "Shelton's Mama" angle in the first place, Thea is doing a great job of putting just enough sass in her character w/o it going over the top. That said, I'm sure Vince will have her join Styles in his office and give a stern warning to the both of them about how to "tell a story" the right way.

We gel like concrete!!! As much as I sorta marked out for D-Lo's last hurrah in WWE w/ Teddy Long, the crowd reaction was an absolute zero.

an addendum, Millennium, if you will allow me to do so, good sir: he will be moved to Raw, built up HEAVILY, only to lose to HHH (somehow he gets the belt back) at WM a la Booker T circa 2003! Well, it IS a race Triple H hasn't proven himself superior too. Oh all the funny racist jokes and speeches that would come from that feud. How could I forget HHH getting to squash another potential cash cow? *smacks self in forehead*. Everyone knows that any money drawn in by "those" kind of superstars is dirty money anyway. Plus, imagine those devastating Pedigrees on Mysterio. But, ya got to admit, the ensuing feud w/ Tomko & Snitsky would definitely pump up the Backlash buyrates.

Prediction: Rey gets moved to Raw (Compensation for Angle) to feud w/ Tomko & Snitsky in time for WrestleMania.

I feel the same way if Orton is replaced in favor of Chris Masters. Damned if I don't find myself humming that tune at work now and again.

What woman could resist that handome chap?

I did see the Lashley plunge on wwe.com but the .5 sec clip was merely a footnote in the "story" of the battle royal. They painted the story that Angle threw everyone out until he was put through the table by Henry. Then, Henry chucked everyone until it was he and Angle. Lashley never got recognition other than seeing him fly off the apron.

I missed the faceoff. What exactly happened?

From Jan95, Vince is in the ring just about to start an interview w/ Diesel. Lawler is doing commentary. *Diesel fireworks begin to taper off* Lawler: Royal prediction . . . McMahon starts the interview by saying 'Alright!' McMahon: Alright . . . Lawler: Hahaha!!!

They'll bait and swtich it . . . or Flair will have in the contract that TLC stands for Tender, Loving Care meaning that if Flair beats Edge (in a standard match), he gets to give Lita TLC for the night.

Luckily for Kennedy, Grisham has never heard of Aries.

Only caught the last 10 minutes of it . . . Whatdya want kid, an eel, snake, or worm?

Another funny episode last night. Michael's attitude was frighteningly similiar to a co-worker of mine. "Dwight, what's your middle name?" "Danger!" Good stuff.

Velocity/Smackdown Spoilers for 01/13/2006
MillenniumMan831 replied to Fökai's topic in The WWE Folder
Sad to hear that about Lashley. I haven't seen all his matches so perhaps someone can correct me but one would think WWE is THRILLED to have a hoss on the roster who is far from a clutz and seems to know what he's doing out there. Then, they have one of the top 3 clumsiest guys on the roster squash him. Hopefully, it's not as bad as indicated. I don't know how hard it is to have Lashley somewhat easily handle Henry before making a "rookie" mistake and have Henry give him the ol' backdrop over the top spot. -
Much appreciation for posting this Arnold.

Vince McMahon Not Happy With Joey Styles
MillenniumMan831 replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
For a wrestling show, yes. For Raw, apparently not. -
He'll get beat up on his way to the ring and replaced by Mark Henry.

Seems like a pretty decent guy in the bits when he wasn't in character. Very relatable guy as he proudly addressed that he watches box sets of dvds and plays dvds during his recovery time.

Vince McMahon Not Happy With Joey Styles
MillenniumMan831 replied to QuestionMan's topic in The WWE Folder
Hmmmm, I thought Styles was plenty watered down enough for WWE at this point. Seems like a smoother version of JR. Guess I'm wrong. I think we can expect to see him in some sort of announcer-abuse angle w/ HHH sooner than later. -
I thought the board crashed from all the traffic coming in Monday night or something.

Henry did pin The Rock on ppv (Judgment Day 1998). -
Double Post. Look at Cyrus instead.
