Hmmm . . . I don't think the deck is quite stacked enough . . . lemme think . . . WWE Champion John Cena will compete NEXT WEEK . . . against his opponent Kurt ANGLE . . . & Tyson TOMKO!!! AND SNITSKY!!! And their partner . . . EDGE!!! Who will be joined by . . . . . KKKKKAAAAANNNNEEEE!!! Let's see you beat those odds John Cena.

And if you don't get your act together, you'll be back shooting Lane 4 at Rock N Bowl! YOU KNOW WHO I AM?!? I AM NETWORK, BY GODDD!!! I WILL SEND THIS PROMOTION BACK TO THE STONE AGE!!! I absoutely loved his perfectly timed interruptions of Gertner as well as Gertner's temper tantrums almost every week because of it. EXCUSE ME! EXCUSE . . . ME!!!
-
I just got dvds of every ECW on TNN episode so I'm drunk on that right now "When two wrestlers with the same color hair battle, THAT is what WE at the NETWORK call a RATINGS KILLER!!!" "Don't forget our newest show on TNN . . . Rrrrrrock 'N' BOOOWWWLLLLLL!!!" Cyrus was great!
-
Most of mine are from the TNN era since that's 90% of the ECW I saw. - Super Crazy shockingly wins the TV Title - The Mikey/Tajiri/Minister promos - I enjoyed the dynamic of Mike Awesome defending the ECW Title vs. New Jack - The ECW/WWF fiasco from WrestlePalooza 1997 right through Taz winning the TV Title - Kid Kash wins the TV Title from Rhino after intereference from almost the entire ECW roster (I must be a mark for TV Title changes)

And he had the nerve to say that only 2 guys were carrying the WWF banner in the 1980s . . . Hulk Hogan and Vince McMahon.

I'm getting tired of this "Vince can't do this to gimmicks he didn't create" defense. Yes he can. He was smart enough to buy the rights to the names. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I never said he couldn't. It just pisses me off that he does.

The death of VHS is coming very shortly.

I was referring to scratches. My brand new Road Warriors dvd plays like crap at a few spots as does a couple other commercial dvds I have. Plus, every time I lend one out, it comes back in painfully poor condition. Granted, I probably shouldn't lend them out but I never had that problem w/ tapes. Besides, I like the fact that I can record and watch stuff on a 8hr tape w/o having to put it on 4 2hr discs. -
Isn't this the reason that Sting was acting like such an ass over not wanting to be a heel either? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes. Since the heel is meant to end up getting beaten, you would think good Christian men would jump at the chance to show that the bad guy always winds up losing in the end. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> That was pretty much the philosophy of Ted DiBiase. And he was a damn fine heel.
-
I got to play the heel at a church Christmas play. Thrill of a lifetime to be 10 years old, in church wearing an old t-shirt, ripped up jeans, and a baseball cap. I got to interrupt church as the ignorant "Spike". Of course, I turned face by the end after having the Christmas Story played out in front of me. But I digress. I also think Masters will pull out an ULTRA cheap victory. Similiar to the lame Master Lock Challenge. However, I think HBK will go over Masters the night after and once again the next week so all will be right w/ the world.

Can't argue w/ this.

Captain Lou Albano was another notorious obvious blader. Of course blading wasn't as widely known about back in the 60s-80s as it is today. But looking back, all he did was stick a blade in his finger tape and wildly swipe away whenever someone would bop him w/ a foreign object.

It really irritates me that WWE would do this to gimmicks they never created. I can understand making sure "Razor Ramon" & "Diesel" never see the light of day on the competition's show but to take credit for gimmicks they never founded just plain sucks. I wouldn't expect anything less. Oh, yes I can . . . Next week on Raw, Lou E Dangerously (the former Sign Guy DUDLEY) shows up w/ 3 guys named "The Dudley Boyz" and "Justin Credible" to spoof Paul Heyman's ECW. Did I say Raw? I meant Heat. Did I say Heat? I meant it'll be a wwe.com exclusive.

This is what I don't get. The shows were known about months ago. Why is WWE going after them NOW after the fact instead of stoping it BEFORE the show went on. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> They have upcoming shows in Pittsburgh and Cleveland coming up in a week or so.
-
I wonder if they can legally go after Raven.

Hmmm, than I guess I'm just lucky. Either way, dvds are still too sensitive for me to convert everything just to throw the VHSs away. -
I disagree about the chase part. The chase is only intriguing when the face has never been champion before. Now that Batista is champion, I don't think he can lose the title, chase it, and still have as much fan support as he did going into WM21. Plus, I don't think Batista is stale at all. He's cool, calm, but merciless when he has to be. An awesome guy to have on your side but pure hell to face him. His segment w/ Simon Dean shows he can still connect w/ the audience w/o raising his voice or cutting a typical "It's great to be in . . ." promo. Basically, if one hated the guy from the beginning of his super push, there'd be no reason to like him. If one liked the guy from the beginning of his super push, there'd be no reason to hate him.

On a regular basis, only The Office for me. "I'm HITLER!"

What are your favorite Bobby Heenan memories?

Growing up, I must have laughed every time Roddy Piper called Heenan "Boobs". It still gets a chuckle out of me. -

Viva la VHS! I just got done converting 20 discs of ECW on TNN to 6 VHS tapes because I find VHS to be more durable than DVD. Drop a tape . . . no problem at all Drop a dvd . . . you're fucked DVDs are just as senstive as VHS. -
Which Wrestlers did you like who weren't Stars?
MillenniumMan831 replied to a topic in General Wrestling
I appreciated Jose Luis Rivera . . . a true jobber's jobber. In MSG, he lost to Rene Goulet (in 1984), Barry Horowitz (in 1988), the Brooklyn Brawler (in 1989), and countless others. Plus, I marked out for not only Howard Finkel's pronunciation of the JoseLuiiis Rrrrrrriverrraaaaaa name but also Rivera's half-assed 'point the finger' salute once his name was announced. -

It wasn't available in the states although it was hyped a bit in the states. -
What Wrestlers do you want to see come back?
MillenniumMan831 replied to a topic in General Wrestling
I'd be the last one to expect that to happen. Not that he wouldn't deserve a push. -

I'd love to see Corino in the WWE, even if as a commentator/manager. Maybe Big Dust can get him in. -

Survivor Series 1991 (camera on Monsoon/Heenan) Monsoon: We are going to have more information on getting some television coverage of that match next week. Heenan: Well, I need to know now. Monsoon: You need to know now. Well, isn't that too bad? We don't know right now. Heenan: Well, get on the horn and call somebody. I need to know. While not really funny on paper, the deliveries and facial expressions were priceless. -
Yeah, he went by Vito Cruz in the WWF.
