SNME Comp I Made...Creative Criticisms?
MillenniumMan831 replied to UseTheSledgehammerUh's topic in General Wrestling
Looks like a helluva lineup. If I could add one match to the list it would be the Bulldogs/Dream Team 2/3 Falls match from #7. Also the 6-Man opener from the inaugural episode may be a good one to add on for historic purposes. But I'm just nit-picking. -

Technically, it's illegal to trade it also. -
I'll take anything from Spinal Tap.

I'm a huge battle royal mark. To me, it's interesting seeing who gets eliminated when as it's kind of a barometer for the pecking order. Plus, I like seeing which jobber/lower card wrestler sneaks into the final half dozen.

Yeah, I have some of them. But I'm kind of a completist:

At least ya got some nipple action from the first couple. I don't care what anyone says though, the Nitro Girls Calendar video was hot.

What is Chavo's gimmick going to lead to?
MillenniumMan831 replied to EdwardKnoxII's topic in The WWE Folder
I did mark out for the entrance on Heat (golf cart, Frank Sinatra song, and hokey Titan Tron video). Everything after that was rubbish. -
I remember a thread a while back saying WWE was nixing VHS tapes by the time WrestleMania 21 was released. Since then, I've bought Backlash 2005, Judgment Day 2005, and Vengeance 2005 all in VHS format at FYE for $8 each. Viva La VHS!

Venis vs. Parisi from tonight's Heat was a perfect example of how a squash should be. -

Basically, it's to the point where we're just looking for more than 4 matches for a 2 hour show . . . even if it means bringing back the squashes. -
Rey Mysterio's son suffering "emotional distress"
MillenniumMan831 replied to UZI Suicide's topic in The WWE Folder
I really think Eddie should have been the one to issue the challenge w/ Rey reluctantly accepting. Not Rey all too eager to get Eddie in the ring at the potential expense of his son. -
So the bWo is unofficially offically dead?

I think people would shit on it . . . unless the work of the wrestlers and the storylines leading up to the clashes justify it w/ raw (pardon the pun) conflicts and physical action. But in the world of WWE, it never would. We already had our "different" ppv of the year in June.

Hmmmm, I think Vince should compromise. Cancel Monday's match but rearrange the SummerSlam match so it would be Hulk Hogan vs. . . . New Jack. Now, that I'd pay for.

Rey Mysterio's son suffering "emotional distress"

Eh, Rey buys Dominick a new PSP game and all is forgiven and forgotten. *Waves goodbye* -
I think he'd have been dropped or made to turn heel. His bid for the WWF Title ended in a humiliating submission loss at IYH: Ground Zero as he was thisclose to the ropes but instead gave up in the Sharpshooter. There was really not much left for him to do once the Harts left.

They were a pretty good babyface team. They were around for almost a year in 1994-1995. IIRC, they traded tag team title reigns w/ The Pretty Wonderful team of Paul Orndorff and Paul Roma as well as Harlem Heat. It seemed people were way more into the Patriot than they were w/ Bagwell though.

More brilliance "Ya know it's funny, I always used to hate the guy when he was in Oakland. Now, I love Parkman. It's amazing what a new uniform will do to a guy. (covers mic) He's still a dick." "Just a quick reminder about Die Hard night here at the stadium. Free admission to anyone who was actually alive the last time the Indians won a pennant."

Heat and Velocity are the SuperStars and Challenge of yesteryear . . . but if Paul London isn't wrestling Akio or Benoit isn't facing off w/ Regal, the IWC doesn't seem interested. -
Why do they keep blaming Bischoff for WCW failing?
MillenniumMan831 replied to zyn081's topic in General Wrestling
Bobby Heenan had an interesting thought in his shoot interview when he said "Goldberg should never have been beaten." He cited that most tv executives are Jewish and for once they have one of them as the #1 guy (well, very close to the top at least) in wrestling. If the guy went his entire career w/ only 1-3 losses and was the focus of the company up until 2001, it'd be interesting to see what the state of WCW would be. I know, probably dead, but I'd hate to think they'd really be over $80 million in the dumper. -
How long before Nitro turns on Mercury to fight over Jillian?

"So the Indians drop a heartbreaker to the Yankees 9 to nothin . . . post game show is brought to ya by (shuffling papers) Ah Christ, I can't find it, the hell with it!" --- Harry Doyle from Major League "Studies have shown it's always best to fire people on Fridays." --- Bob from Office Space . . . ah hell pick almost any Office Space line Any line from Fred Willard from Best in Show

With the hundreds of stations now available on cable, the WWE fans just can't find the appropriate channel to enjoy WWE Pay Per View programming.

It's a double edged sword because some people clamour for the days of the squash while others piss and moan when Animal and Heidenreich run over unnamed jobbers on SD. And a lot of the time, they are the same people. -

The one thing that goes against the grain from the general consensus of the IWC is that I think it was a good move to have most of the nWo guys go over heading into the Main Event. Granted, Sting should have obliterated Hogan. However, killing off the nWo at this point would have been a bit premature . . . by about 6 months or so. If the nWo wins all the undercard matches but convincingly loses the Main Event, they still have a leg to stand on. The first 6 months of 1998 should have been WCW finally killing off the nWo little by little until the culmination at Bash at the Beach where WCW could win a match similiar to the one at Uncensored 1997. Or they could have held it off until Fall Brawl and do it at the War Games.
