Challenge and SuperStars both started in September of 1986. Challenge indeed turned into a recap show and was put to sleep in 1995. By 1993 or so, nothing of any significance whatsoever took place on the show. But I was always a Challenge mark since I enjoyed listening to Monsoon/Heenan way more than McMahon/anyone else, even Ventura.

I can't believe HBK said "hill of beans".

It was obvious that Jesse was a huge mark for Rick Rude, Vader, and The Hollywood Blondes in 1993 as he came alive for their matches and took it easy for most of the rest of the card.

The Dudleys winning the ECW Tag Titles twice in their last week or so w/ the company.

I was kinda hoping for the Coal Miner's Glove Match to blow it off for good and forever . . . seriously. Forever.

Does Ric Flair count? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Same goes for Anderson/Blanchard. Other than being given a different manager and a nickname, their wrestling personas stayed the same. Vader was decently pushed for about a year or two.

Ultimate Warrior speaks out about his upcoming DVD
MillenniumMan831 replied to Downhome's topic in The WWE Folder
I recently saw his shoot interview and what a turdburglar this guy is. He was getting pissed off at the interviewer for asking questions about memories of certain famous matches. Dumbass, what did you think the interview would cover??? He's definitely still very bitter at Vince even though he doesn't admit it. Plus, his family has a creed. A CREED?!? What the fuck? -
Elizabeth getting the keys to the handcuffs from Slick at Survivor Series 1988 Another great Ventura rant came during the entire Super Posedown at Royal Rumble 1989. Monsoon: Hands down winner right there. Ventura: SHUT UP Monsoon! Nobody's won nothin yet!

Couple ECW Questions: - At Heatwave 1999, what did Taz use that was so heinous to choke Tajiri out? The camera angle was very wide but it appeared that it was a piece of fencing from the entrance but that couldn't have been it . . . seeing as how whatever he used got the crowd to chant "Holy Shit!" - Just finished watching Guilty as Charged 2000. Did Mike Awesome really knock that girl's teeth out w/ a clothesline? They showed the clip and it looked like it could have been a blood capsule at first, but the promo w/ Spike and his girlfriend showed her looking like Bushwhacker Luke. Maybe she was wearing false teeth before. Either way, the clothesline was pretty brutal.

Velocity + Ongoing SmackDown Spoilers
MillenniumMan831 replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
I'd like to see London on Thursday cut a brief interview w/ Josh promoting his CW Title match for Velocity. Hell, they don't even have to mention the opponent is Nunzio (cause quite frankly not mentioning the opponent would probably be better than revealing it's Nunzio). -
I'd love to see Dusty cut 3 minute promos on the state of wrestling much like Corny did in 97.

Haven't seen the Dragon/Austin match in forever. But I remember marking out for Steamboat's comeback as Austin kept on slapping he Dragon into a angrier and angrier rage before he snapped.

I like Richards so it's Boogie Woogie man's fault until proven otherwise. -

Johnny Sinjer? Johnny Swangler? Has anyone ever heard of this guy? I sure haven't. Sorry, I couldn't resist. -
Hogan interview draws heat from internet marks..
MillenniumMan831 replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Disagree with this, actually. It's more the other way around. Hogan would have looked LOST if he was placed in a supporting cast like today's. His cartoon character gig would have been rejected in a sea of ultra-serious heels and good-cause-they're-bad faces. Hogan's style requires a supporting cast of wrestling garbage men, hockey players, geniuses, barbers, etc that look as goofy as he is. Austin got over by squashing a lot of these goofy characters and then going onto more serious ones. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It is what it is though. Yeah, 1980s Hogan would look awkawrd in today's WWE environment, but Austin wouldn't have projected Vince's vision of an expansion in the mid 1980s by drinking beers and beating up refs. The Big Event drew in almost 70,000 fans for basically one match (Hogan/Orndorff). The rest of the card was utter junk, except for Dragon/Roberts. WMIII was built on if Hogan could actually defeat the "Undefeated" Andre the Giant. Yes, there were other matches, but that had to be 70% of the draw of the event. It drew at least 75,000. Austin would just not be the draw that he was w/o Vince and Rock to play off of for nearly 2 years. Hogan would be programmed against whomever wherever and still draw consistently big numbers. -

Plus, Hogan's name itself drew gates (WMIII and The Big Event) while Austin needed much more of a supporting cast to draw. -
Nick looks like a douchebag . . . he probably is one.
-
How do you think he got that PSP?
-
I take that back, Dominic did a great job there.
-
Dominic looks like a nervous wreck, not that I blame him.
-
It is SO fake looking that I really don't see how it is sickening to the stomach.

The "Would ya?" at the end was a nice touch.

101 reasons not to remove Hassan from Smackdown!
MillenniumMan831 replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
The great part about that gag was that he started rattling off moves as they cut to commercial break . . . they come back and he's still in the ring already in the 700s. They shoot off the pyro to start the 2nd hour of Nitro and he's still listing moves like the Super Blizzard . . . and it was Prince Iaukea of all people to stop him.
