On the bright side, that show did provide the line, "Save the drama for your mama, and PUSH!" I always wish I could go on Card Sharks. What an easy game . . . "Lower, Higher, Higher, FREEZE!!!"

I'll second the hiring of Straight Shootin' Stevie Ray . . . I'll never forget his exchange w/ Schiavone during WCW's version of a Royal Rumble in Australia Schiavone: It's Ron Harris . . . Stevie: He rolled into the ring. Schiavone: He really did, he rumbled right in there. Stevie: He rolled into the ring. Schiavone: And now opening up in the corner. Stevie: HE ROLLED INTO THE RING!!! Schiavone: I KNOW! Stevie: He's savin' his strength, he ROLLED into the ring!

What was the last time Rock was on TV?
MillenniumMan831 replied to iliketurtles's topic in The WWE Folder
Sorry for being a bit off-topic, but I forgot for a moment how much I HATED that jackass Diva Search. I went to a Raw in Cleveland a week or so before SummerSlam 04, and it gobbled up three segments. Even the rubes were getting fed up. IIRC, it got three segments while the entire Raw had three matches. -
Add in almost every one of Jericho's promos as a heel in WCW for sheer entertainment value . . . the banter between him and JJ Dillion was almost always priceless.

I can't wait to see next year's photos. BYOB.

He was on MTV's True Life I want to be a Pro Wrestler . . . his gimmick was a paperboy given to him by Les Thatcher.

Holy shit . . . it's Rapid Delivery Rory Fox

Another Jake promo that is somewhat chilling was before the Royal Rumble match in 1990.

I know that's how it worked last year but did they say it was random draw this year? Given the 1st 2 picks (shhh on SD's pick), I thought the GMs were actually getting to draft whoever they wanted this year.

Stephanie Furious over Backstage Rib

I bet Vince though it was hysterical. -
Nevermind, already stated above.

Everyone talks about legit toughs. what about.....
MillenniumMan831 replied to Damaramu's topic in General Wrestling
FWIW, Arn Anderson said in Flair's book that while Jerry Saggs is pretty tough, Brian Knobbs is a big ol nasty pansy. -
I wanted to be just like Yokozuna. Those geisha girls must have had the hots for him.

I'd wear a Judas Priest shirt, so I'd certainly wear an ECW shirt. I really don't care.
-
I bit the bullet and ordered it from WWEShop since it came w/ a shirt of the cover of the dvd. Also picked up the ECW shirt for a grand total of $35 shipped.

RVD talks about "One Night Stand"
MillenniumMan831 replied to GreatWhiteNope's topic in The WWE Folder
Well, at least he seems to be on good terms w/ the production department. -
Seeing matches live come across much better than watching them on the tube.

Sorry I have nothing profound to add, but that was excellent Rudo. My only suggestion would be to stretch out the mystery of the identities of the members for a few more weeks. Maybe start it a little earlier.

Which CV was this? Or was it one just released in the UK?

They had a match in Boston in late 1987 that was part of Best of WWF Volume 20. Rude had the bodybreaker on Hogan but released it too soon and you can figure out the rest. Plus as a FYI, I had a WWF SuperStars watch w/ a mini-game in which you can play Hogan vs. Rude.

I think they were faces since Lou Albano screwed up their tag title match against Johnson/Atlas. Albano wouldn't accept responsibility and the Samoans were on their own from then on. They would unsuccessfully challenge Adonis/Murdoch at MSG for a few months with the blowoff being Samoans/Slaughter defeating Adonis/Murdoch/Albano.
-
Whoops, you're 100% right about that. I remember Gene calling it embarassing and thought of the wrong video.
-
Just an an FYI, you were probably watching the WWF's Most Embarrassing Moments. And the ring announcer was actually Mel Phillips as he did the ring announcing primarily for Challenge tapings and Spectrum shows. As for the 2nd question, Frenchy Martin never got any gold although he was only a manager for a relatively short time.
