Best/Worst songs for commencments/senior sendoffs/
MillenniumMan831 replied to Steve J. Rogers's topic in Music
Hmmmm, both my graduations just had the good ol Pomp and Circumstance blaring through the PA . . . made me want to do the thing in the ring and get funky like a monkey. Oh Yeah! Although Faith No More's "From Out of Nowhere" would be a kickin song for a commencement. -
Does sitcoms still/really have studio audiences?

Family Matters is also guilty of this. I can understand Urkel getting pops, but when Carl and Eddie were getting it, yeesh. The earliest I remember was Happy Days. Like the others, literally every single recurring character would get it, including Tom Bosley. There are many eerie similarities between Happy Days and Family Matters. Both spin offs. Both had supporting character take over the show. The father figures were similar (blustery, overweight, overwhelmed, etc). Both had a sibling inexplicably disappear. The appleause thing. There's more I can't remember, I haven't been reminded of this in a while. Urkel was to Laura what Chachi was to Joanie. -
^^^ Ironically, I popped in SprSt99 before I left the house this morning to make a backup copy of it.

A sentimental favorite of mine is Spring Stampede 1994. I know the ppv ends w/ an indecisive finish but it was such a fun show to watch. The Chicago crowd is hot for much of it. The opener was a nice little bonus match. The street fight was awe-inspiring at the time. My buddy and I marked for Muta regardless of a 8min headlock or whatever. Sting won the big gold belt. IIRC, Vader busted out a moonsault. The Bunkhouse Match was pretty hardcore at a time when my only exposure was syndicated WWF/WCW programming. And of course, the Main Event was great. My buddy and I went half and half on the ppv and we'd fight over how long one of us would get to keep the tape before letting the other one have it. Imagine my surprise when I go to Suncoast in the late 1990s and see Spring Stampede 1994 for $12ish. My jaw dropped and I bought it.

Because HHH knows the business or something like that.

Seinfeld - Kramer gets a job . . . where he makes no money. - Damn near every Costanza/Steinbrenner scene. - "What's that smell?" "I think it's the horse." - Kramer running alongside the landing airplane w/ Jerry spotting him out the window trying to figure out if he just saw what he think he did. - Kramer being carried out of his apt in a bodybag by some thugs right by Jerry who just mumbles, "Always up to something." There's about 1,000,000 more I can't think of right now.

Maybe if he shit in her mouth instead Does anyone else remember that old (circa 2002) fantasy booking someone posted here about an angle about crapping in various people's mouths? I believe it was to build for HHH-HBK at SSlam 2002 and it basically predicted the entire angle, only when HBK was injured by HHH he did not crap in HBK's mouth. I only remember this one line from it that still cracks me up every time I think of it. "Stephanie McMahon comes out and orders HHH to face HBK. HHH tries to speak but his mouth is full of crap, so he just starts crying as Smackdown ends." Sorry Slickster, didn't catch much of that post. I was busy staring at your avatar.

Me too. What a dirty piece of shit that Triple H is. Maybe WCW wasn't so bad after all. Sure there was no elevation, but at least he could go over luchadors every week. Plus, I'd rather be held down by no-good politicians than the family of the boss.

It's time to quit cryin' and start payin' Rochelle. Sorry, got an Irwin R Schyster impulse there.
-
Rochelle needs to pay her dues anyway.

Never thought of that . . . maybe Mr. Holly can referee it just for kicks . . . and punches.

Appreciate the response but this was before then. In the late 1980s, Challenge had the cursive logo. It was changed in 1989 (I think) to a blue background w/ yellow block letters w/ the opening of that bodybuilder flexing at the beginning of it. Then, sometime in 1990 (I think), it changed to to a colorful background (orange, yellow, ect) w/ yellow block letters.

I was actually looking forward to this match cause I knew Hogan would lose . . . It would look a underwhelming to see Hogan win the Intercontinental Title. However, if it would have been just for the WWF Title, I'd have been waffling up to the beginning of April 1990.

Matt Hardy speaks on he and Lita splitting

I really wish it would have been Mean Gene's hotline to bring us this late-breaking scoop to us rather than the Internet. -
Is this gonna be released on dvd?

Perhaps this is why he was chosen to play Doink in his WM debut at X7. Was it actually Dinsmore who portrayed Doink at WrestleMania X-7? Dinsmore's WCW results, for anyone that's interested: Kaz Hayashi on WCW Saturday Night 29-Aug-98 lost Evan Karagias on WCW Saturday Night 19-Sep-98 lost Brian Clarke on WCW Nitro 21-Sep-98 lost Ernest Miller on WCW Thunder 25-Sep-98 lost Horace Hogan on WCW Saturday Night 26-Sep-98 lost Scott Steiner on WCW Nitro 28-Sep-98 lost (with Lenny Lane) Stevie Ray on WCW Saturday Night 10-Oct-98 lost Norman Smiley on WCW Saturday Night 26-Dec-98 lost Scott Armstrong & Steve Armstrong on WCW Saturday Night 09-Jan-99 lost (with Mike Sullivan) Cheers. I'm amazed how people always forget that Dinsmore wrestled Chris Jericho on Nitro as "Bore Us Malenko." That was him? Damn, he was thin.

Well, this is the year that Dolan and Shapiro said the Tribe would be back to playoff strength when they claimed ownership / GM status of the team from Hart / et. al... Considering the run the Tribe made last year and the fact we're getting a few more key pieces like Millwood and Gonzalez... Dolan did tell the people of Cleveland that he would open the purses a bit more when he saw need. We were close last year. And I'm sure Millwood and Juan-Gone didn't call cheap. I'm not calling Dolan a great owner... I'm just reserving my judgement for the end of the season. Fair enough. I just don't trust the guy though. Plus, he did say he'd pump some money into the team at the middle of the year last year IF they were in contention. Well, they were in contention and he didn't do much, if anything to back up his word.

I kinda miss Eagan's media posts.

Which is totally doable since they can easily reissue the Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat CV from 1986.

I belive the reason was because Austin doesn't do well at funerals. I don't think anyone does well at funerals. You show up to pay your respects to the family. A simple "I'm sorry about your loss" is suffice. Maybe he was afraid someone may catch him crying and thought that would be death to his gimmick or something . . . I dunno.

"He's gonna get the winner's share of the purse money but not the title!"

^^^ There's Survivor Series matches in this game?
-
Another thing that endeared me to him was the fact that he came across as if he was having a ball calling the action rather than it being a chore. Makes even the terrible matches easy to watch.

Kind of a useless question, but when did SuperStars/Challenge change their logos and themes in the early 1990s from the generic blue and yellow designs to the black/silver block design for SuperStars and the orange/yellow display for Challenge? Thanks.

Edited out some tapes that have been sold.
