Big thanks! Never seen this match before.

Nice stuff . . . Piper rambling for 30 seconds w/o taking a breath is always a solid chunk of gold.
-
He was REALLY late for his Heat match then . . . maybe he was in negotiations w/ Teddy about joining Velocity . . . Hmmmmmm . . . what will that Amazin' Maven do next?!?
-
Piper escorting Cowboy Bob Orton to the doctor's office for a checkup on his arm was classic.

I bet Lex Luger has pictures of Hogan by the limo.

Haven't got through it yet, but just wanted to thank you for posting it.

Between the circles to LeBron. To the line, to the lane . . . WHAM! With TWO HANDS!!! Casey Coleman doing sideline reports for the Cleveland Browns Radio Network always give me a chuckle w/ his nasally voice and dumbass comments . . . "I had a chance to talk to Jets QB Quincy Carter before the game . . . he's one of these QBs who feels more comfortable after getting a few completions early in the game so it'll be up to Butch Davis's defense to stop that." --- Don't all QBs like to complete at least a few in a row to start a game? Sheesh. And my favorite recurring quote from Coleman . . . "Boy, I tellya this Browns defense looks tired out there. They have their hands on their hips, sweating profusely. They NEED to make a stop here to get off the field and turn it over to the offense. And before I throw it back to the booth, it appears that Gerrard Warren has vomited here by the 38-yard line." --- Ok, I exaggerated at the end but you'd think he was talking about 60 year old men playing. These are young men . . . they can't be_that_tired. Granted, Cleveland's defense has played like 60 year old men this year, but I digress.

You make some very good points, but I have to take issue here. The 740,000 buys had little to do w/ the return of the "Old Austin". Hindsight aside, for the 1st time ever on ppv . . . guys like DDP and Booker T would face off against Kurt Angle and The Undertaker. For the 1st time ever, the WCW Tag Champions would face off against the WWF Tag Champs. RVD would make his WWF ppv debut against fellow daredevil Jeff Hardy. It's the closest a mark could come to fufilling his Apter mag "Dream Match" fantasies to that point. Austin returning to his old self certainly helped but the appeal of WCW guys and a ECW guy putting up or shutting up against Vince's troops was the real draw. Had the WWF held off putting the WCW guys in just about every match on Raw/SD the week prior to the ppv and instead restricted them to promos (pretaped and live), it would have drawn even more buys. Of course, the Invasion sucked and the ppv was one of the most disappointing of all time . . . especially in the fact that nothing of consequence happened other than a Hardcore title change and Austin turning heel . . . again. But in WWF's eyes, the Invasion wasn't botched at all, it's just that . . . well, this isn't ballet.

I have no idea why . . . but he did use it early in his run. I know he clawed Mr. Perfect at SummerSlam 1990 and I want to say he did the same to Playboy Buddy Rose on SNME in July of 1990. -
And Jericho gets to wear his "1,004" tights.

Yeah, it was in the 50s Tuesday, I believe. But by the time Thursday rolled around, it was well in the 20s. But it takes more than a little cold weather to depimp Batista.

Hmmm, I don't remember seeing it for a while but I do remember someone cutting down a rumor about the creatures being Shane and Steph.

Glad I passed on spending $40-50 for a ticket. -
What event was that again?

I remember being ultra-pumped for Demolition vs. Twin Towers . . . plus it was my 1st live show at 6 years old. From memory, this featured Ultiamte Warrior successfully retaining the WWF Title over Mr. Perfect, Hillbilly Jim pinning Bob Bradley (don't ask how I remember that), and a Tag Title Match between Demolition and Hart Foundation. The only match I'm certain about here is Hogan beating Sgt. Slaughter in a desert storm match. My buddy and I were singing "Mama said Knock you out!" the whole night. I also remember that Ricky Steamboat was in action . . . as dumb as the gimmick was, I loved seeing the fire breathing live. Basically, my folks said I could go to one show per year so luckily I saved the 1992 show for the ppv. Didn't even want to go to one in 1993 as the Lex Express push was sickening to me at the time. But then, I end up attending a house show as part of the Make a Wish Tour in December of 1994 that featured a dreadful Diesel/King Kong Bundy WWF Title match. I believe The Bushwhackers also beat Well Dunn. Don't see a listing on Cawthon's site but it's better off forgotten anyway. Didn't attend another show until the Attitude boom where I attended about 3 shows per year including every ppv in Cleveland and about 1-2 TV tapings per year that came to Gund Arena. Ironically, I'm not bothering w/ tonight's Smackdown taping in Cleveland.

Much-anticipated rematch? It was three days later.

I have sigs disabled but one look at Slickter's almost startled me.

I can just picture if Batista was on Wrestling Challenge 15 years ago . . . "This contest is scheduled for one fall . . . making his way to the ring, from Washington DC, weighing THREE hundred twenty-eight pounds . . . BAH-TEEESTAAHHH . . . . . . . . his opponent, from Topeka, Kansas, weiging two hundred thirty-one pounds Bobby Dilligas."

Is Boris Zhukoff available?

As soon as I saw that pic, no other quote would do it or Monsoon justice.

It's a shame they didn't put in Owen/Bulldog vs. Furnas/LaFon from IYH: Final 4.

I wonder if that's referring to when Tito Santana beat Don Muraco in Boston for the I-C Title. It may not be though because it was the closing footage that was cut out of it. Kayfabe wise, Santana believed that Capt Lou Albano had something to do w/ the missing footage.

^^^ I wouldn't mind that job . . . just have to make sure you don't get any butter from the popcorn on the tapes by accident.
