Dammit Edge . . . enough w/ the F'N spear!!!

Can't wait for London/Akio III. And almost 15 minutes to boot . . . JBL's squash on Shannon Moore must have been cancelled this week.

So Heenan really didn't mean to give it away then? No, I am pretty sure he was just doing what his charicter was doing the whole show. Heenan loved Hogan because working w/ him meant more $$$. But his character has despised him for years and would NEVER trust a guy like Hogan. Plus, there was a sense of paranoia in kayfabe WCW. NO ONE was ruled out as being the 3rd man, so it's natural that Heenan would make that observation.

I need to see video of that. The best part was how the Rockers and Neidhart sold Hogan's rage like death while Bret barely budged and just had a look as to say "What's wrong w/ you?"

Why's the kid asking for his jewlery anyway? Paralyzed or not, it ain't cool to put someone on the spot like that unless he had every intention of giving it back anyway.

A No-Holds-Barred Wrestling Wrinklefest
MillenniumMan831 replied to Si82's topic in General Wrestling
Sounds like a really fun time until I see that it's $300 for a VIP pass just to meet and greet some old timers. Plus, I'd hate to have to deal w/ the crowds everywhere. Just point me to the Jimmy Hart table and I'll be set. -
IMO, Hogan will always be perceived as a bit higher up the food chain than Austin as far as mainstream attention goes. Hogan was always about being the good that defeated the evil, visiting hospitals, posing for photo ops . . . basically he was to wrestling what Jordan was to basketball. Even as a heel, it was obvious that Hogan was just acting a part and didn't really come across as a scumbag to the general public. Meanwhile, Austin was an extrordinarily popular rebel in his era. He was certainly the benchmark for his era much the same Hogan was for his time. Being the 1st mainstream wrestler that beat up the boss regularly, flipped the bird, drank beer in the ring, ect. certainly gave him a leg up on everybody else. On the flip side, one could argue, giving free reign to squashing all the heels gave Hogan an advantage in the 1980s. From a wrestling fan's point of view, I believe they are equals. From a general public point of view, I think Hogan will always be #1 just for the fact that he was the original colorful superhero in wrestling. He comes across as much more approchable to the media than Austin, his scowl, and the "wreckless" style of wrestling he helped usher in.

I think it was more to stick it to DiBiase than winning a title. In kayfabe terms, Virgil was VERY inexperienced so to beat a guy as seasoned as DiBiase and take his most prized possession (that or Sherri) was cause for Virgil to celebrate like he just won the WWF Title.

Very nice interview . . . odd to hear him put Sammartino over so much then in word association called him a disappointment. -
Why has Eddie gone from World Champ to mid-card?
MillenniumMan831 replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
Speaking of which, when is the last time Edge won clean? He bludgened Rhyno clean on Raw in the RR Qualifying match. Rhyno went for the gore, got booted . . . then speared . . . and finally pretzeled up for the submission. -

Much appreciation! -
Thanks Cawthon.

He offered a handshake to Flair and Flair accepted and Eddy hugged him and switched the #'s. Solid gold!

How did Eddie steal Flair's #?

Generally, if you buy a WWE dvd the first few days it comes out at FYE, you get a good deal. If not, forget about it. Plus, I have a 5% off card . . . oooooooo. As for alkeiper, lookin forward to the review if you do one.

Put that cigarette out!

The best I can do is a 1st Gen of it if no one can help ya out.

Gold Jerry, gold. I can imagine Flair throwing a tantrum accidentally knocking over the tumbler w/ all the numbers in it. Then, getting on all fours trying to find another number all the while Batista rats out Flair's # (since he was peeking) to the official running the drawing . . . but did he give him his real number or a more cushy number? Tune in only on ppv.

Yeah, it's not as if LOW2 is bad but the way the X-Box was promoted as the most powerful gaming machine on the universe, the wrestling genre has produced lackluster games at best. Showdown would have been great if not for the bugs that ruin an otherwise very fun game.

As great as that moment was, my favorite E&C moment was probably when it was Stephanie's? birthday and E&C gave each other Edge & Christian t-shirts and then played theme music w/ their kazoos and streamers. Long live the stream! And long live the zoo!

Worst hometown announcement ever?
MillenniumMan831 replied to Epic Reine's topic in General Wrestling
Whatever it was, it's cooler than saying "West Memphis, Arkansas". -
I'm actually kinda worried about his over the top rope bump. I hope he doesn't break his back or hit the back of his head.
