Yeah, I remember Brad Armstrong racking up a win or two in the tourney and next thing you know Ohtani is the champ and even quicker yet, Malenko wins it anyway.

Hey now! We got to see Chavo Guerrero Jr. finally get a shot in on Eddy Guerrero to start their feud, as well as the brilliant commercial break mic work of Billy Kidman! That show's my pick too, actually. I never went to another WCW show after that. To be totally honest w/ you, I don't even remember those 2 bits. All I remember is a Benoit/Booker interview segment (It was Benoit's B-day as I brought a sign to commemorate it), Jericho/Calo, Duggan/Adams, Neidhart/Finley, an in ring interview w/ either Giant or Luger, and the ME involving those 2. The rest is a blur although I did pick up a Raven t-shirt but still am ashamed I never mail ordered for a WCW Monday Night Jericho shirt. I did end up going to an August 2000 Nitro. It was the infamous fans vote on who faces Booker T . . . but it'll be Goldberg anyway episode. While the wrestling wasn't top notch, the segments were entertaining enough to not make me feel like I gave my money away. Plus, we got to see Goldberg's only clean loss (?) in WCW to Booker T.

You'd THINK they wouldn't put such a shitty show for a homebase city like Augusta . . . but no one ever accused WCW of thinking, so there ya go.

Just saw the video (Hey, Browns/Eagles was on), and I must say . . . What a bitch! You'd think she could just offer an apology and leave the band out of it.

It's a tie for me: Thunder sometime in May of 1998 --- Awful show w/ no dark matches and a Luger/Giant ME. Benoit/Booker had a promo segment so neither one had a match but guys like Jim Neidhart, Hacksaw Duggan, and Brian Adams did. The only saving grace was an appearance from former CW Champion Chris Jericho. And the other would be the Raw before SummerSlam 2004 --- Not one, not two, but three Diva segments. The 4 matches included 2 good bouts in Edge/Jericho and Benoit vs. HHH/Orton. But the other matches were Rhyno/Tajiri against 2 jobbers and a Diva 6-Woman Tag. Yech. I honestly had more fun watching the Heat/dark matches than the live Raw itself. Just bleh!

Something I noticed at Starrcade '98...
MillenniumMan831 replied to Use Your Illusion's topic in General Wrestling
No doubt. Unfortunately, the only promo that reflected his WCW skills was his WWF debut w/ The Rock. Despite him saying how bad WCW was, he really looked like he was having a good time during his run as CW/TV Champ (Obviously, by Starrcade he was on his way out). He literally had dozens of golden promos that hardly anyone on the current roster (including Jericho himself) could touch today either due to lack of talent, being fed exactly what to say, or both. -
Only on House Shows. Who won? Who lost? My lips are sealed. Get the Great American Bash 1986!

At least you got to see Jericho's swank pre match promo. "Pull up your pants, cause your drawers are hanging out, Daddio! Thank you!" -
Yeah. The Legacy versions are pretty much dead on. That's the set released in '98. Collection was '97 and I think some of them are clipped. Nothing on the Collection (at least my version) was clipped, except for Intermissions and even then you see the first and last few seconds of intermission.
-
I believe the versions in The Collection are the same as the ppv versions.

While Quincy does have 3 TDs this year, I wouldn't expect much out of him in Dallas other than wasted downs when he muffs passes.

Edge turning heel is obviously great. Edge joining Evolution would suck. His whole gripe is that he's never had a World Title shot . . . and joining Evolution would guarantee he'd never get one . . . until he's kicked out and turns face again.

"My Day with Vince, Ric and Trips"
MillenniumMan831 replied to The Tino Standard's topic in The WWE Folder
Nice article Tino. Good stuff. I'll have to remind myself to pick up a copy of The Herald in a month or check it out online. If I was talking to Ric Flair and/or Vince McMahon, I probably would barely be able to put a coherent sentence together. -
"Bell's gone and were underway in this . . . I can't believe I'm saying this . . . Michael Cole on a Pole Match Tazz! Here I am on top of this 1,200 foot pole attached only to my . . . well, my asshole (laughs)! Anything to get Raw and Smackdown superstars together for this one match! Wait a second, that animal Gene Snitsky and the Big Red Machine Kane are fighting to the back . . . and The Undertaker is out cold. There's that maniacal Heidenreich looking RIGHT AT ME partner! Oh My God, he's climbing the pole!!! HELP! HELP!! HELP!!! TAZZ . . . MR. MCMAHON . . . HEYMAN . . . ANYBODY!!!!! AAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!" -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A recently traded for Gene Snitsky defeats JBL and HHH in a 3-Way Elimination Match to win both titles on Smackdown.

A vote for Stevie is a vote for common sense. Make your vote count . . . vote Stevie Richards. And yes, I voted Richards for IC Title contender.
