Best and Worst Treatment of Title Belts?

I remember on Challenge (I think), Bret Hart had an interview just after Survivor Series 1995. He talked about how it irritated him that Diesel would drag the belt to the ring. Hart said he'd wear the belt proudly for the WWF and had it over his shoulder. Fits here.

    Good to great undiscovered matches

I've always been a big fan of the Randy Savage vs. Jim Duggan match from late 1989 for the crown in MSG. It was on CV's Mega Matches. Wasn't very good technically, but had good emotion, lots of energy, and a LOT of bumping by Savage. Plus, Sherri cheats her ovaries off in the match.

    The Tony Schiavone thread

Vince seemed to be the originator of giving away the finish by saying Wrestler X was in total control of the match and that nothing will stop him.

Ooooo boy, I better ask my boss for a raise . . . or just have him pay me with dvds.

Caudle and Solie were the guys that had me thinking the NWA was legitimate wrestling.

Maven does an April Fools commentary?

They should bring in the Harlem's Boys Choir to chant the Kamala entrance music live for each match.

So now that he's the deadman again.....

I only want to see an UT/Morgan feud if Harvey Wippleman comes back to manage Morgan for revenge on UT.

Wondering how to copy a tape.

Actually, I wrote a review for it a while back. I can think of three terrible Coliseum Videos for a wrestler. The Ken Patera Story, HYacksaw Jim Duggan, and George The Animal Steele. Thank God there isn't a Junkyard Dog one. (shivers) There was actually SUPPOSED to be a JYD video but it was scrapped in favor of a video dedicated to . . . . . . The Hart Foundation!!! I think we got the better end of the deal on that one.

The OAO Arena Football 2004 Thread

I watch it every now and again. It's kinda hard to get behind a team because there doesn't seem to be much of a talent difference between the best and worst team. You should, theoretically, score on every drive. Whatever happened to that one armed kicker anyway? Go Bon Jovi!!!

WWF Tapes where to find them

Ebay's your best online bet. I've dropped an assload of money there, but it's all worth it.

Or when he'd be getting his ass kicked, he'd yell "HELP ME! HELP ME!!!" The Kiss walk was great too. I loved it when Jericho, knowing Goldberg wasn't in the building, stormed the ring and forced Nick Patrick to count Greenberg out to give him YET ANOTHER victory over the unproven Goldberg. Anyone remember the letter Ted Turner wrote to him? The look on his face when he realized Turner wasn't giving him the CW Title back was classic. And then Starrcade 1998 --- To Konnan . . . "Pull up your pants cause your drawers are hangin' out, Daddio!" I could be here all night listing Jericho hijinx.

An unforgettable WCW moment to me. It was Wrath. That was GREAT! They ran right into a wall, mop closet, and outside. Of course the door came right open again so CJ put his foot against the door while 'trying' to open it.

    A fun fact about WCW

Didn't Buffer ask for like a Million bucks per PPV appearence? If so, WCW really spent too much fucking money on a RING ANNOUNCER. I don't think one person went "Hey! Buffers announcing the ME! I'm gonna watch through 2 hours of shit, then watch a shitty main event! But it's worth it!" I don't know the exact figure, but I think he also charged more if they wanted him to say "Let's get ready to Rumble!" I can understand bringing him in for a Starrcade Main Event but I could give a shit for him introducing Meng in a World Title match on Nitro.

Media post: Mr. Perfect Vs. Shawn Michaels from

Yeah, I believe it was. I used to have a tape of the SummerSlam Spectacular of that year and that was the way Ross/Monsoon hyped it. I seem to remember it being labeled as such as soon as the match was announced . . . but as always, I could be wrong. Yeah, Shawn 'bulked up' that summer. Good thing those tights stretch out plenty.

    New School Question Thread

    1) No. Aside from 4 apperences on Heat, He debuted on Smackdown along with Charlie Haas in Late 2002 as a Gift to Kurt Angle from Heyman 2) Bret Hart defeated him with a Montreal Finish at Starrcade 1999, Lex Luger and Bagwell retired him at SIN in 2001, Steiner beat him in Goldberg's only other ***+ match at Fall Brawl 2000. 3). Goldberg Vs Scott Hall (Souled Out 99), Three Count VsThe Jung Dragons and Jamie Knoble & Evan Koragis (Starrcade 2000), Syxx Vs Eddy Guerrero (Souled Out 97) 4)I got the "honor" of seeing Nash beat Funk in a shitty hardcore match at Souled Out 2000. 2) TECHNICALLY, they pinned DeWayne Bruce and not GB, so I guess, they didn't actually BEAT GB. -=Mike Bret beat Goldberg the night after on Nitro as well, the night the nWo reformed (nWo 2000) - I can see why you'd miss this as it was lost in the mix. Bret got yet another win over Goldberg in the first round of the WCW Championship tournament the night after Halloween Havoc 1999.

    A fun fact about WCW

I hated it enough when Michael Buffer would do the main event intros on ppvs, but I loathed it even more when they had him do the intros for many of the main events on Nitro. It took up WAY too much time and they were probably paying him as much as many of the wrestlers. I'd always would find myself flipping to Raw during his long winded shpeils.

Thanks for the post. I just hated that the match was being hyped as The Greatest I-C Title Match of ALL TIME before it ever happened. HBK/Perfect were never given a fair shake at a great match with hype like that. Does anyone know why they went with the copout ending instead of having Perfect go over? I actually remeber liking HBK/Backlund at the Summerslam Spectacular more than the SS93 match, although I haven't seen HBK/Backlund in quite a long time.

    The Tony Schiavone thread

"How bout that one guys" "We are set to go with our next match" "This is what WCW is all about, that Never Say Die attitude and we're seeing it here" All repeated several million times during his WCW run.

    The Tony Schiavone thread

I can almost recall exchanges like: Trongard: Uh OH, he's going for a modified version of uhhhh . . . Graham: That looks like a version of a camel clutch there Rod. Hayes: He's really got that headlock sunk in good too. I don't think Savage will be getting out of this. Trongard: Savage is IN DEEP TROUBLE folks!!! Graham: Savage needs to make a comeback Rod. Trongard: I know, he is IN DEEP TROUBLE here. Eh, I haven't heard them for a while, but I'm sure they've spouted out similiar lines.

    Favorite mask angle?

It was all a tainted conspiracy led by Jo Jo Dillon and all the cruiserweights were in on it. Dean Malenko was NEVER on the list of challengers in the battle royal. I just finished a Chris Jericho comp so I have some background on the subject matter.
