I loved in 2 of 3 weeks Vince had Mankind protecting him (in the hospital with Mr. Socko and in the back playing Twister with Vinnie) until Foley got on his nerves so much that he kicked him out leaving Open Season for Austin.

I F'N loved that vignette. IIRC, Stevie was in the back after his match with Goldberg on Raw clutching his ribs. He then fires the janitor cleaning up the mess in the locker room complete with the Vince-esque "You're FIRED!" Then, Al Snow appears out of nowhere so Stevie shoves a microphone in his hand and tells him since Snow wants to interview Richards so bad (with Snow sporting a bored look on his face) he can have a "Stevie Night Exclusive." Richards rants on about how if Goldberg met Richards on Heat, GB would go down. All the while, Victoria is in the background making snow angels. I don't know if this was a gag on Al or not. As Richards is trying to keep a straight face, Victoria is screaming "Look Stevie . . . Snow! Snow!!" Like a father trying to calm down his kid, Richards looks back and mutters, "Snow . . . great." I wish I would have taped that segment.

10 worst WWF/E buyrates of all time
MillenniumMan831 replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
While many of the Main Events looked entertaining on paper (especially for the IYH ppvs), there just wasn't any doubt that the champ would retain in most of the matches. I mean who bought Mankind as WWF Champ in 1996? Or the Bulldog? Or even the Patriot? Of all those cards, I'd say the July 1996 IYH (International Incident) looked the least interesting. -
He was also the ring announcer in LA's portion of WM2.

I liked Vince's tirade after Austin had a pullapart with Mike Tyson. "YOU'VE RUINED IT! YOU'VE RUINED IT!!!"
-
Just wanted to add that Owen Hart's cowardly heel antics in his match w/ Ahmed are classic.
-
What the...?! I've never heard of this match. Can you give more details and tell me where you got this tape? It was from Kuwait on a 1hr tape called World Tour 1996. The same tour which saw Ahmed Johnson win the Kuwaiti Cup. It was just after WMXII and there was no issue between Hart and Austin at the time. A very solid wrestling bout that was nicely done without all the hatred. The ending saw Austin actually submit to the Sharpshooter in something that was obviously ignored by the time these 2 started feuding. The card on the tape reads like an Ahmed Johnson Appreciation Show: (All matched from Kuwait) - Ahmed Johnson/Yokozuna vs. New Rockers - Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin - British Bulldog vs. Duke The Dumpster Droese (First Round) - Ahmed Johnson vs. Owen Hart (Semifinal Match) - Ahmed Johnson vs. HHH (Final Match includes postmatch presentaion of Kuwaiti Cup)

As long as they show the postmatch Jericho heel turn, I'm down with that.

"GET ON YOUR KNEES . . . CRAWL AROUND THE RING LIKE A DOG . . . OH YEAH, YOU'RE SORRY FOR MR. MCMAHON!!!!" ------------------------------------------------------------------------- (Crowd chant Asshole) "SSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHHUUUUUUUTTTTTTT UUUUUUUPPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!"
-
Oh, I wish I could have seen that. Greatest fuckup to never make TV ever! One of the funnier parts of that scenario was the crowd totally shitting on the token face comeback by Road Dogg.

Craig DeGeorge was kinda irritating.

Jericho at Fall Brawl 1998 . . . Hilarious!

I just posted that in the old school forum. I would've sworn the "You're in Cleveland" chant kept up for more than a minute though. I remember Road Dogg burying his head in the turnbuckle after the match and Cole saying something like, "Road Dogg obviously exhausted after that hard fought match." They've got to release that segment unedited on a future dvd. I'd buy it just for that. (Funniest Moments Volume 2?) Well, they cut about 1:40 out of the match, so the chant could have gone as long as that. I really don't remember for sure. I remember being highly pissed off when the show aired and they'd edited all that out, because I had told my brother "I can't wait to hear what Lawler's gotta say about this." The one time I actually cared what Lawler had to say and they edited the match. Honorable mention: Ric Flair's promo during the commercial break at the November 3 Raw. "This is Batista! He'll crack your vertebrae! He'll break your spine!" Vintage "I'm about to have a heart attack in the middle of a promo" Flair. Oh yeah, my cowroker and I quote from that promo every once in a while . . . "This is BATISTA! 6 FOOT 5!! 350 POUNDS!!! He is going to take you by the neck (clutches neck) and break your vertabrae!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" It was cool to see some of the post-Raw beer bath from the same night w/ Audtin/Goldberg. The chair down the ramp bit was gold, especially after I was sure he was about to leave since it was a good half hour after they went off the air.

Nah, I think Christian has some good coverage in the cranium area.
-
most likely at the top of the hour. Or *gasp* then Main Event Promo.... DING DING DING! What do we have for the winner?! Announcer: A collection of 10 DVD's full of Randy Orton footage from his historical birth, his abusive dad, and his stinking up rings around the world! Cash total....$0.04! AAAAARGH!!! MY EYES! I would rather shoot my big screen than to watch a DVD with that fucking AWOL loser. Aww, you don't want to see him jobbing on Smackdown in tag team matches with a new partner every week against Batista and D-Von? Will there be some Cowboy Bob Orton footage on it? I'd buy for .04
-
There goes that bumbling Benoit again.
-
You mean to tell me this promo couldn't be done in front of a gray background in like 45 seconds.
-
Oh geez, he's stealing lines from last week's promo.

Sgt. Buddy Lee Parker But for Vince, Lt. James Earl can run in as the State Patrol EXPLODES!

Raw 3: Follow the Champ . . . ONLY for X-Box
-
They must not have filmed enough Heat matches.
-
Well, at least the crowd is murmuring.

That actually would be a funny gimmick. Jobbers who acted like they were huge stars. See Lenny Lane in WCW. I think he did that once before when he was Cruiserweight Champion. I remember Ab Solution!
