The Johnny Polo character was just trying to rile Gorilla up. Plus, it was a CV match. It's like a HeAT match, as Harry Doyle would say, "Ah, nobody's watchin' anyways." As for Sammartino/Zbyzsko, check out Best of WWF Volume 1 if you can find it anywhere. The match isn't complete but it isn't as clipped to shreds as in the dvd. Plus, the original airing of the exhibition match (in better VQ) to set it up is on it too along with the weigh-in.

good call, that was a great tv match. Would of made a sweet extra in place of HBK/Jannetty. But, beggars can't be choosers and what we got was just fine.

I thought that was tomorrow.. All I know is that he wants to beat Oprah's time of 4:27ish.

Would you want to try and wrap those legs into a Sharpshooter Bret did it at WM 9. It did look pretty shitty though.

Spanky's music is hilarious.

What's the best part of being trained by HBK? To say "I've been trained by HBK." GOLD!

That's not his name. Turd Ferguson.

I would have guessed Bret after Lex already beat Yoko earlier. That way Luger could have blown off his feud with Yoko and shed the 'choker' label but still have Bret walk off with the title. Even when I was 11, I thought this. Macho Man!

He didn't take more than 24 seconds. I read that commercial took 8 hours to shoot. I'd hate to be one of the Cavs/Kings that had to be there during filming and not even get one second in the commercial. Although, I did get a kick out of the little boy and the look on the cheerleader's face.

I loved that. They'll clip it.

I jobbed to the ARROGANT COVER!!! C'mon Babaaayyyy!!!

How can an American not mark out for the Manhattan Center crowd sing the National Anthem before the Crush/Yoko match?

FYI, the vault match is Bret Hart vs. Yokozuna from WrestleMania X.

Benoit: Push to the Gold 2003
MillenniumMan831 replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in The WWE Folder
I'm sure in WCW, Benoit looked up to Bret and asked for advice at some point. Yeah, like "if you're going to be forced out of a company, make sure you take the belt with you. Advoid being screwed over in the front of the world." I rest my case. -

I'll probably see you there. But shit, thank God this isn't my money on that ticket It'll be alright. I'm going with two marks who loathe HHH as much as we all do, so it'll be fun. At least we MIGHT be able to put our HHHater clocks away. I'll look for the guy with a wedding ring for Stacy. Hopefully, that horrible Hulk Hogan impersonator will be there like in March.

Benoit: Push to the Gold 2003
MillenniumMan831 replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in The WWE Folder
There are two chances of Benoit winning the WWE Championship or challenging for it at WMXX: - The Bret Hart Factor. The man Vince NEEDS at WrestleMania would be very happy to see a protege of his in the spotlight at the "Biggest Event of ALL Time!!!" - If he takes a back seat to McMahonaMania. If Vince and Steph dominate SD with their storylines w/ Undertaker, Sable, Heyman, or whoever else, they may give Benoit a token reign "to see if he can draw" even though he won't be put in the marquee matchups. The same thing happened to Big Show twice and Chris Jericho. -
Glad I hocked over $40 to see this mess of a production L-I-V-E. Oh well, at least I might end up on TV w/ 7th row seats. Look for the guy w/ spiky hair and a Cactus Jack shirt.

It was the Raw blowoff in July. The cage match was never televised. I didn't see what the big deal was, myself. It was obvious Marty had no chance of winning. Here's how the match played out. Marty got the win but Shawn's foot was on the ropes ... Diesel and Heenan show the referee what happened on the video moniter ... match continues ... Marty misses a dive to the floor, knocks himself out, Diesel rolls him back in, Shawn gets the easy pin. It may have been a better match than simply what I just described, but it's been 10 years since I've seen it. What a dull ending that sounded like. I would of thought the match on Raw: Prime Cuts would have been deemed MOTY.

For the few in the Cleveland area, I was at a Big Chuck and Little John taping. Good times!

So Orlando and Paul get paid for playing video games? I'd like that gig. -

God, only Heyman can take a shitty match on paper and make it seem important.
