AWA Wrestling back on the air
MillenniumMan831 replied to garfieldsnose's topic in General Wrestling
Hmmmm, according to the Big K, Mando Guerrero is the Man of 2,000 holds! Also, I didn't realize the Rockers stuck around a bit longer after losing the titles to Badd Company. -
The moment your favorite superstar or any wrestler jumped the shark

Heenan still hated Hogan after the formation of the nWo. Yeah, but it lost all of its appeal when everybody else was supposed to hate him as well. Also, WCW seemed to take a more serious turn around this time, and what was funny before really didn't fit in with what they were trying to present, thus my saying he seemed lost. Well, not surprising that they took a more serious turn, considering the nWo was trying to destroy WCW. When Heenan sucked up to Eric Bischoff on nWo Monday Nitro, that was classic Heenan. Then he came back the next week, apologized, and then acted like nothing happened. I thought that was great! That was totally something "The Brain" would do. Heenan casually taking his seat at the confusion of the other announcers was awesome. *pointing to the camera* "Roll it!" -

ECW did a 1.1 per Meltz. -
Ep 18 of Challenge was actually a Prime Time-style 1986 year in review show. Why they couldn't air it, I don't know, but whatever. A charming thing about these six-man matches on Challenge is that they'll have three stars vs two stars and a shlub (Spot and SD Jones representing the ceiling-staring role). W/ Bastion Booger co-hosting Raw, I'm surprised they didn't drop a "Make sure you pick this Raw" line. IIRC, that MSG show has the epic Haku/Barbarian vs Kato/Fuji battle. It's really sad if that MSG show was really unanimously chosen. I guess they got both of my votes and it won 2 to zero to zero to zero. EDIT - Updated the master list on Page 6. They dubbed out the theme for the 4/91 SNME and dubbed in Nickelback's cover of Elton John's Saturday Night song. For as much as I hate Nickelback, the tune actually works. I'm much surprised it was actually cheaper to use that theme over the original theme they were using for the 1988-91 eps. Personally, I'd have gone with Def Leppard's Saturday Night High & Dry. And I'll give you one big guess who got booked for the 12/21 ep of Challenge.

Ongoing Impact spoilers for this Thursday
MillenniumMan831 replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
Per Meltz, Foley likely 'convienently' left out his lines about BFG being his last performance last week on Impact since Foley knew it was bologna and that no one would buy it. -

To think if someone were to have given you the Giants and 20 points, you'd be a loser. Go Browns! Bout time Browns fans have a little fun this year. No losses in 23 days and counting.

I stopped liking HHH w/ that JD 2000 match where ne needlessly won the title back and haven't looked back.

They really could have made Joe into a big big deal (on the TNA scale) with that match but of course they had to fuck it up. I was hoping against hope Joe would kick out, finish Sting off viciously, and give Nash the deathstare as they faded to black.

I figured it was because they can hang it from the ceiling of the arena since it took the crew about 10 minutes to set up the blue bar cage. And another 10 to take it down.
-
I loved how whenever someone would make a cover in the Monster's Ball match, they had to yell at Mongo to COUNT.

So has there been a ban on Cardinal fans attending NFL games in Arizona?

You flush Mike Graham out of that panel and that was as close to a perfect episode as they've had when it came to entertainment.

I miss Regal shouting "All hail King Booker!" during Booker's entrances. Shame that only lasted a few weeks. -
In kayfabe, it was because the WWF was afraid Bundy would go through the cage at WM2. In reality, it was for better visibility for the fans watching.

He just hyped the match before showing it. I assumed they found a match where Hogan got pinned but instead they just went to commercial before the match was over. Yet, they found the need to show the finish to the next week's Mat Classic of Von Raschke vs Adnan Al-Kaisse -

Yeah, it's a roast but at the same time the comedian has to know his audience. Personally, I'm not offended by that joke, but he has to know that the fellow wrestlers could and would be pissed off. It'd be like telling a joke about a construction worker who fell off a beam and killed himself in front of a bunch of people who either worked or work for the same company.

That's awesome that it took the force of the Young Stallion Jim Powers to restrain Hall.

I know it's not a very popular gimmick around here, but I'm a huge mark for the switcheroo gimmick and this is no exception. Yes, I even liked the Harris twin shtick in WCW 2001 where one had "an injured neck" while the other would wrestle. -
I remember that facelock was on YouTube. I love how Monsoon/Graham had the balls to promote future live events during it. The strange thing is that if you take about 7 minutes out of that facelock, the match was actually a lot of fun. It was also odd to see a lot of short matches (Snuka/Afa, Rocky/Sika, & even Bellomo/Sharpe).

Better late than never I suppose. Striker's back and Dreamer's in a chinlock. One would think it's just a matter of time before Long proposes to Tiffany. Jamie Noble trick or treating is big fat buys. His nervous eye rolls and blinking are money.

AWA Wrestling back on the air

These AWA shows have been a lot of fun. Not necessarily good, but fun. Larry Nelson selling how T Joe Khan no sold the board shot was precious. As was Lee Marshall inviting Trongard to come to Gold's Gym w/ him sometime.
