By the by, the audio is off sync on the video so apparently no one gave 1/2 a shit about putting it together.

That would have been better but I think Sid was so beloved at that time that the fans would still prefer Sid over Hogan.

WCW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot

When they aired said bumper I was quick to point out how much worse the Kennel From Hell was... and it was. Way worse. Boring with, zero redeeming qualities. At least the Chamber of Horrors had random jobbers for either party to beat on. The Kennel from Hell is funny as hell just for it being on the "Mick Foley: Hard Knocks and Cheap Pops" DVD with Foley and Kevin Kelly's alternate commentary. Especially Kevin Kelly insulting Al Snow's "K-mart bought attire" and Foley talking about the possibility of the dogs giving birth to more dogs during the match. And was that the last time the blue cage was used? I think it was used at Rebellion 2001 for Edge vs Christian. -
Ventura gave Hogan the riot act for his post-elimination behavior at RR89.

IIRC, Austin then barged into the jobbers' locker room and whomped them. JR then speculated that the shulbs' careers would be over.

Snow certainly did a 180 on his most recent RF shoot.

Yeah, I guess they'll show some matches in cinematic music video form. -

IIRC at WW3, he was still "The Yeti" but dressed as the Giant Ninja. Then, as The Giant Ninja he lost to OMG on Saturday Night. -
I just saw Waiting last night and was thrown off to see Sam Weir (seemingly 6 feet taller than he was in F&G) starring in it. I'm using the word starring very loosely.

It's Repo Man. Look at him, he doesn't even know which direction the ring is!

Jeff Hardy Strikes Out for the Final Time?

I think HHH's only Dr Black comment that made air was when he referred to MVP's attire as performance enhancement. -
It was nice to see Monsoon being allowed to have a set while dealing w/ Austin.

Without McMahon or Monsoon to sell Heenan's lines, The Brain loses a lot of his luster as WCW proved.

AWA Wrestling back on the air

And Jammin Mitch Snow was bringing the charisma for the only night of his career. I have to disagree w/ one thing Jed . . . last night's ring announcer was awesome. He looks/sounds like they plucked him from doing voiceover work at a game show, slipped him $75, and had him introduce the wrestlers. I don't know who's the more entertaining stooge, Col DeBeers or Playboy Buddy Rose. -
I remember my friend, his dad, and I wrote down our 5 picks to win the Rumble. I was the only one who had Flair. Don't be too impressed, I also had the Warlord on my list. Sid was my odds on favorite though and while watching it, I changed my mind to Piper on the heels of his IC Title win earlier. Even I thought Hogan winning it three years in a row would be overkill.

It's always a hoot how whoever is announcing have to introduce themselves and where they're at before every match in case it gets used for Primetime or Spotlight.

(Paraphrasing) Monsoon - No one in the history of the Royal Rumble has drawn numbers one through five and been there at the end. Heenan - What great camerawork. Monsoon - Did you hear what I said?!? Heenan - WHAT?!? Monsoon - NOBODY in the history of the Royal Rumble has drawn numbers one through five AND BEEN THERE AT THE END!!! Heenan - OH WILL YOU SHUT UP?!? SHUT UP!!! Monsoon - Heh

"Cena is a great worker, not a great wrestler. He's good at entertaining but really, he's not much of a shooter at all. I mean Billy Robinson could probably tie Cena up into a pretzel." - Any old rassler who's last match was 10+ years ago

AWA Wrestling back on the air

I started watching it near 2am. My standards are a lot more harsh at that time and I just wanted to get through the ep and go to bed. -
AWA Wrestling back on the air

Ep after ep, it seems my favorite segment is the one they pull from the syndicated show. I definitely had to FF the LeDoux match. Rockers vs Nord/Zhukov could be fun if they indeed show that tonight. Hoping for more Hall/DeBeers chaos. Looks like Larry Nelson was quite sauced last night. Hopefully, he keeps that up throughout 86. -

The Godfather -
It really sucks to be a Browns fan on nights like these. I'd rank this one w/ a Sunday night ESPN game against Baltimore during the Butch Davis era where Cleveland's Derrick Frost had like a 4 yard punt late in the 4th quarter that lead to an easy Balt TD only for the Browns to FINALLY put together a drive down the field to tie the game only for Holcomb to throw a pick at the goal line and have Ed Reed take it all the way back for another Balt TD. Yeah, that was two "only for"s in the same sentence. I'd feel more comfortable if Cleveland got shunted back to 1pm 'Regional Action'. Madden's line of the night (paraphrasing obviously) - Ya know, sometimes in life, when one tries to catch someone not ready, the only one really not ready is that person . . . next thing you know, it's 4th down and you have to punt.

So instead of having uninteresting tv and uninteresting ppv w/o Heyman, we'd have interesting tv w/ uninteresting ppv w/ Heyman? In that case, sign him up. -
Only Pillman would leave WCW for WWF to get the big money.
