WWE General Discussion - September 2008
MillenniumMan831 replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
WWE is high on Shelton's work so as a reward he jobbed to HHH. I'm thinking the WWE being down on MVP is probably being blown WAY out of proportion. -
Here are the lineups for the WWE 24/7 Online Specials (It's a pseudo-Coliseum Video bonanza): History of the Intercontinental Championship: Part XV Tatanka vs Shawn Michaels - SuperStars 2/13/93 IC Title - Shawn Michaels vs Tatanka - WMIX Interview w/ Shawn Michaels - RAW 5/17/93 IC Title - Shawn Michaels vs Marty Jannetty - RAW 5/17/93 IC Title - Marty Jannetty vs Bam Bam Bigelow - RAW 5/31/93 Blah to these Raw-Repeats but I guess people would complain if they skipped the Raw stuff too. Wrestling Hot-Beds: Popular Venues in the 1980s WWF Championship - Lumberjack - Bob Backlund vs SuperStar Billy Graham - MSG 12/28/82 Rockers vs Brain Busters - LA Sports Arena 1/29/89 WWF Championship - Hulk Hogan vs King Harley Race - Maple Leaf Gardens 5/17/87 Cage - Andre the Giant vs Big John Studd - Spectrum 9/24/83 Bret Hart vs Mr Perfect - Boston Garden 6/3/89 It was announed New York will be featured next month. Shawn Michaels Injured at RAW/SD Taping
MillenniumMan831 replied to strummer's topic in The WWE Folder
The racking up "wins" via chokeslams were cool but then he'd cut a long, droning promo afterwards which had to kill crowds and ratings alike. -
Hmmmm, though I can remember the exact match orders of the first 12 WrestleManias by heart, I don't remember Crazy defeating Masters once, let alone three times.
-
Super Crazy must be on the longest winning streak of his WWE career at two. Guess we'll have to wait until Friday to see if Hardy did indeed lay out HHH at the end of the show or not. As for Braddock, I have no idea if he can work (a squash against Big Show and a dufus battle royal are hardly decent barometers to judge), but he has a good enough look, is fairly big, and well . . . I just get a James Storm vibe every time I see him. Come to think of it, that probably works against him more than anything else.

Most of the 3MW attacks were pretty good modern heelery.

Thanks King Kamala. Will do on the Online updates. Looking forward to Old School month for sure especially w/ all the AWA stuff on ESPN Classic. -
Discussion: WWE Scramblemania~!
MillenniumMan831 replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
From JR's blog: Apparently he has a lot of faith in Mark Henry keeping his ECW Title throughout the match. That and oh yeah, shouldn't JR be telling us? -
Wild card, my friend, wild card! Who's starting QB week 1? Hasn't been much between Anderson and Quinn from what I've seen. Based on the local radio shows, it looks like Anderson will be fine by Week 1. They were saying if the last preseason game was a regular season game, he probably would've started. The QB debate hasn't really been at the forefront the last couple weeks due to Quinn's mediocre play in the preseason. Just finished watching 2 eps of "The Top 5 Reasons You Can't Blame . . ." on ESPN Classic. Ernest Byner's fumble and Art Modell moving the team were the subjects. Nothing like an hour of that to bring down a homer Clevelander.
-
I'm certainly not feeling the Browns winning the AFC North this year. That said, at no point in the preseason did they look as awful as they did Week 1 against the Steelers last year so it's not totally hopeless. In other words, I have no fuckin idea what's going to happen.

The OAO TSM "Happy Birthday, you!" Thread
MillenniumMan831 replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in No Holds Barred
Not to mention to not even to be able to look forward to your birthday due to comments from your family like "So what kind of back pack do you want for your birthday?" Ughhh. And I still tell myself SummerSlam 1992 took place on Aug 31, not Aug 29 since it aired in the US on the 31st. -

TBK rides w/ Bob Sparkplug Holly . . . You mind if I turn on the radio? Why don't you slow down? Why are you drivin in circles? You sure like Tide. TBK invites La Familia to bring a loaf of bread to help him finish his NY Pastrami sandwich. -

Thanks Venk. An hour and a half in, it hit me, it's my birthday. Ever since I graduated college, my birthday just keeps sneaking up on me. End of August birthday as a child . . . No Buys! -
The 20 Best of the WWF Tapes are pretty good w/ a few exceptions (12, 14, & 16 being some off the top of my head).
-
I'll stick w/ FPR. I have a feeling I'll be saying that through many TNA video game releases.

AWA Wrestling back on the air
MillenniumMan831 replied to garfieldsnose's topic in General Wrestling
I mellowed out on the last few eps ever since they actually let faces that the people were into win some gold (Trooper/Peterson) w/ no shitty Dusty finish or anything like that. And I was also thankful that Ralph Strangis got canned. I hated that guy. Nevertheless, that team Royal Rumble was awful. There must have been a couple rules they didn't clue the fans on: - No more than three in the ring at once - The only way to be eliminated is to hold your opponent for your partner to hit only for your opponent to move and end up catching a blow from your partner Gotta feel sorry for Enos over the last year . . . Hold on Mike, I'll handle this! -
Yeah, that was definitely Kendrick's best promo since adding the The.

Rumor has it that tonight on Smackdown, TBK will interrupt HHH's promo by offering him some taffy. -
AWA Wrestling back on the air
MillenniumMan831 replied to garfieldsnose's topic in General Wrestling
Well, the 1990 show is back already. A Survivor Series style match going on now where being thrown out of the ring in any way also will eliminate a wrestler. -

TBK used to do drugs . . . he still does but he used to too. -

TBK feels as though the crowd was on their way to attacking him but got tired and decided to sit down instead. -
