    WWE 24/7

In kayfabe, it was Heenan's bad influence that caused Patera to commit some sort of crime and be hauled to the slammer.

Ah yes, that's the one that intro'd the CVs from 1985-early 1987. Great stuff there.

    OAO Monday Night Raw Thread-1/29/2007

OK, maybe I didn't remember as well. But it probably wasn't clean. From what I can find, it looks like Cena won after help from NUNZIO of all people. How the wrestling world changes in just a few short years. A quick check at WWE Online 24/7 shows the FBI taking out Undertaker w/ a chairshot from Palumbo to take him down and one from Nunzio just to be a dick. They did the ol limp arm draped over the body spot w/ the slow dramatic 3-count.

Smackdown Spoilers for the 1/26 Airing

Just checked out SD but I must say Deuce, Domino, and Cherry are fuckin awesome!!! Domino turning away during Cherry's panty shot was a nice touch.

    The Office, Season 3

I think you're referring to Safe Auto Insurance. The first manager at the desk had a nameplate that said Bill Lumbergh.

Have they ever thought of doing a Hulk Hogan vs. King Booker program? I mean the "nigga" comment notwithstanding, Booker's has the perfect 80s cheeseball gimmick for Hogan to play off of. And Booker's ego won't get in the way of him doing his job and trying to make it look like 1987 again . . . well, except for the fact that he's 250 pounds underweight.

    Greatest Royal Rumble Matches

Took the words out of my mouth. Definitely think the 1989 match is underrated. Seems like everyone poos on it because Big John Studd won and the crowd died. IIRC, they seemed to pick up at the finish as Studd was chucking DiBiase from one end of the ring to the other. Also, it put over the importance of the luck of the draw as Studd had #27 I believe. The only two Rumbles I remember sucking were 1997 and 1999. Too much one and done for too many guys in the 97 Rumble though there were a few fun spots sprinkled w/in. Can't think of anything redeeming about the 1999 Rumble.

The OAO Raw Thread for 22/01/07

Every year on the week before the Rumble, I always hold out hope that they'll bust out a 10-Man Royal Rumble (like in 1999) as a "taste" of the action you'll see Sunday live exclusively on pay per view and wwe.com!!!

    Thanks for the posting these.
  12. Sounds intriguing though I've never seen it. A couple that stand out was Jake Roberts' evil beatdown of Randy Savage and Elizabeth at TiT. Just as it appears he's going to walk away w/ little harm done, Roberts stops and unleashes a vile grin and slowly makes his way back to the ring to further the destruction. The other would be Virgil bopping DiBiase w/ the Million Dollar Belt at RR91. A 4 year buildup led to a beautiful angle that would send Virgil into his only year of relevance in pro wrestling.

    SpoilDown! Smacklers

Cole said she's the sister of Domino and the boyfriend of Deuce. Not sure if he said younger sister or not though.

    Favorite gimmick episodes

I don't remember much about them, but I thought Drew Carey and Roc going live was an interesting concept. I do remember on the ol TGIF, Urkel's backpack rocket launcher took him into space at the end of a Family Matters episode only to land in the Lambert family backyard on Step by Step.

I think it's a CW network thing as the local ads during the break were coming on fine.

    Bam Bam Bigelow passes away

I marked hard for his performance at Survivor Series 1987. Never saw a man his size do any of that stuff at the time. Plus, his saxaphone tune from 1987-88 was awesome! RIP Bam Bam

I must admit, I can't wait to see Sandman eat up 5 minutes on his entrance at the Royal Rumble, give some beer to a kid, smash cans over his head, cane a couple shlubs, and be thrown right out. For kicks, I'll pick him to be the j-brone in the Final 4 since every year some underdog tends to make it that far.

    2007 NFL Playoffs

At least they won a championship. And your home city has won a championship. My poor father has been waiting since 1964 to see another championship in Cleveland. I have been waiting since 1982.

    The Old School questions thread

I believe he sold the contract for $1,000,000 and bought it back for $100,000.
