And here I thought, "What does is Popick's job again?" was a riff on DJ Jeff's "How come did... ?" question of ages past. I'll have to stop giving Slayer so much credit.
-
That's a valid question.

And a Rhodes Scholar should be wise in the matters of defense and intelligence. Should we go down that road, too?

The next time he gets in an elevator? (Yeah, I know it was bad. Bite me, hippie.)

You don't expect him to be at least somewhat knowledgeable about one of the top policy goals of his second term? Somewhat knowledgeable, yes. He should be able to talk about the general goals of the plan, what it's expected to do, and maybe go into a few specifics. But Bush is not an economist. He pays people to fill that role, draft and analyze plans like this, and then brief him on them. It's not the President's job to be an expert on every goal of his administration, but it IS his job to make sure he surrounds himself with the experts he needs.

Well, since Garcia got his walking papers from the Browns, he might need to find a new line of work... To the main story, it's definitely troubling that someone like Gannon was able to get into the White House. I doubt he could really go anywhere once inside, but still. Where I work, background checks are quite diligent, and anyone with inconsistencies in their background investigation is escorted off the premises and does not return. And while I work in a restricted area, it's certainly not the bloody White House. I don't care if the GOP wants a patsy to lob softballs at Bush and the WH Staff, but fer chrissakes, at least look into who you're hiring.

"I'm calling you out" I'm calling you out

I'd run chkdsk like it's advising you to do. That can fix sectors which are logically bad, and move data away from sectors which are physically bad.

I believe "Uncle Tom" is the term. I heard it bandied about a lot when CLarence Thomas was being nominated and confirmed to the Supreme Court. I blame black leadership for the perception that a successful, intelligent black person is a "sellout" or an "Uncle Tom." CLarence Thomas grew up poor and, thru hard work, determination, and intelligence, got a seat on the Supreme Court. Gee, what a horrible role model someone like that is... Thomas' problem (and Dr. Rice's, too) is that they're conservative blacks, and black leadership like the NAACP, Jesse Jackson, and others, only care about the liberals among their brethren.

Hmm, maybe Castro is so bad a guy after all... Apparently, the Colonel just couldn't quite bring himself to pay a commie even a backhanded compliment...

I don't remember Kerry proposing increasing the size of the military (heck, I don't ever remember a Democrat proposing that). Of course, he spent so much time saying, "I HAVE A PLAN~!" and sucking up to European countries that hate us that I may have missed it.

I think it's safe to say a Black candidate would be very hard to elect. There are a lot of backward-thinking people in this country who, durnit, just ain't gon' vote them no darkies into the Whaht House. And no broads, neither, praise Jesus. And I don't think those sentiments are confined to the South, or any other geographic region. I just don't think this country is ready to elect a Black candidate, nor a female one.

They don't need stands. FredEx will build a new stadium by himself every week.

Well, since I didn't delete any of the threads in question, does that mean I can bring a frivolous countersuit? ::countersues Dave for $100,000,000:: ::realizes he'd get paid in Canadian money:: Damn, I'm not going thru all that for $9.17...

Wow, nice old school Jay Bower v. Rob Black reference. But I have to echo Maniac's sentiments. Anyone who thinks this (or any) board is the pits should stop going there. Why spend your time doing something you dislike?

That's horrible and unfunny.

1. Mike isn't my friend. He seems like a good egg and all that, but we don't really interact outside this forum, and rarely interact directly on it. 2. Let's not forget you asking him if he didn't have to write a blog post that no one would read. That was before your brief (or should I say, short?) prick-waving contest in CE. So if you're going to try and cite Mike for trolling you, you're a hypocrite for not acknowledging the fact that you did the same thing to him first. 3. I don't care about flaming. I don't care if your pwecious wittle feewings got hurt because a stranger took a harsh e-tone with you. You've shown the tendency to fire back in the past, so running for mommy now doesn't make much sense. Get back out there in the yard, Junior. 4. Only if you draft the entire Nationals roster. And since I don't think anything else productive will come of this thread, I'm going to close it. Now before you all go "OMG ANOTHER THRED CLOSED TEH MODZ ARE TEH SUX0R~!!!!11!!!!!!1!!" keep in mind that a Site Feedback thread addressing a specific issue can and should be closed when that issue is put to rest.

And all this time I was only paying attention to women eating bananas...

This is trolling. Another rule broken. Just saying... Go nail yourself to another cross.

The John Lee Hooker original is a LOT different.

No, actually. I don't know about anyone else's PM inbox, but mine hasn't had a staff complaint in it for a dog's age.

Well said, Jingus. I find myself agreeing on all points.

I'm not OMG ENRAGED~! at the guy or anything. He's entitled to his opinion. I think it's 100% wrong, but he's entitled to it and he has the right to say it. However, denying documented events in history makes him incompetent to teach it, and there's no way Colorado taxpayers should have to pay the salary of an incompetent crackpot.
