Maybe they should stop doing it, then. The scum we're holding in Gitmo are not POWs, they're not covered by the Geneva Conventions, and there's no way in hell they should have the same rights as an American criminal on trial. Their spending records seem to indicate as much. "global test." Kerry couldn't get the UN's dick into his mouth fast enough. Now, I'm not saying all liberals are evil, or even that a majority of them hold the views above. But there are those who do, and they tend to be quite vocal, which gives the rest of their brethren a bad name. If the radical wackos on the left would just shut up, those on the right woudn't have nearly the number of pincushions we do now.

Bitter, party of one, your table is ready.

I hope the Ravens can maintain their success in the draft without Savage. He's been a key contributor to building the team, and he'll definitely be missed. It was just a matter of time before he took a GM job somewhere in the leage (I think he turned down Jax last offseason), and I'm sure he'll do fine. There is a final gift he could give to Ravens' fans, though: hire Matt Cavanaugh as the Offensive coordinator in Cleveland.

I was leaving a friend's house a few years ago, around 1 AM. I was driving up a pretty major road, and I habitually drive in the right lane on this road because there's always someone making a left. I pull up near a light, and in the left lane is a white Jeep Cherokee with its left blinker on. So I pull up beside the Jeep in the right lane, and a few seconds later, the light turns green. So I go, and he decides not to turn. Instead, he rides right beside me, eventually pulling just in front of me and moving into my lane. I back off. He does it again. This time, after he moves back into his own lane, I zoom past him. A 1/4 mile later, after I've stopped zooming quite so much, he does it *again*. So I zoom past him again and get onto the highway (where I was going anyway). He didn't follow me. It wasn't necessarily road rage, just road weirdness.

Heh. No, but I might have to start. Torrie Wilson is owning the piss out of me.

Like he did the previous week. At least he's since apologized, but I think that was because he was getting slammed for his stupid remarks. Winning comes first, and Alexander can blame himself for not getting the title he wanted so badly. Fumbles on the 1-yard line will do that to a body.

I'd love to see the Ravens draft Edwards, even if they have to trade up to get him. I've also heard speculation that they'll pursue Plaxico Burress in free agency. That would be quite fine with me, too. Both those chaps are tall receivers, and that's where my bias is, since 6'3+ receivers tend to create mismatches against 5'9 DBs. Boller showed some signs of growth this year. Remember that he missed half of last year with an injury, so it wasn't until th emidway point of this season that he'd actually gotten a full year in. He's improving. The problems he has are: 1. Lack of quality receivers. The Ravens' best receiver is Todd Heap, and he's a TE (and a damn good one). 2. The offensive line run blocks better than it pass blocks. 3. Shitty playcalling. I'm hoping the draft and free agency will address (1). A new offensive coordinator (Fassel, I hope) should address (3). Some new personnel on the offensive line, perhaps a new coach, might help with (2).

FUCK YES!!!! HE SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAKEN OUT BEHIND THE STADIUM AND SHOT THREE YEARS AGO! Ahem. And no, I don't think Billick is on the hot seat. Cavanaugh, though, BADLY needed to go. I've never seen one person call so many 4-yard outs on 3rd-and-9 in my life.

Well, we could send our $350m over there and have the UN make sure it goes to the right people for the right things. Oh wait...

I'm indifferent to the Rams, and I think Martz is a shitty coach. The man makes bad decisions constantly and refuses to stick to a winning formula. If the NFC weren't a big bag of suck this year, he'd be watching the postseason on TV, like he should be.

You're right, poker is not a sport. However, ignoring their own original programming, ESPN has long broadcasted things which are competitive endeavors, but not sports. Examples would be the bloody spelling bee, bass fishing, etc. And considering how popular poker is, it has to be a cash cow for them -- I'm sure the rights to broadcast the WSOP were dirt cheap when ESPN negotiated them originally.

Most US airports I've been to (which would cover most of the ones on the east coast) have had the bars and restaurants beyond the metal detectors. I don't make it a point to look for airport bars, though, so it's entirely possible I might have overlooked some that aren't behind the security areas.

I got some of the details from NFL.com, and the quotes from the medical examiner and all. The rest was my writing. "Our condolences" is pretty standard, and I presumed I wasn't the only staffer/writer of TSM who would have those sentiments. VX: I do other games as time permits. I don't have infinite time to write the column. The previous week, I was able to write a paragraph about every other game. This time, that was not the case. If I didn't have to do things like playoff scenarios, it might've been different.

The last NFL column of the year It has the playoff scenarios for this weekend's game, news about Reggie White, Steve McNair, and Darren Woodson, and the several-times-postponed diatribe about Barry Bonds and the larger issue of steroids in baseball.

Paul Votsis Will No Longer Be Writing for TSM.

Considering that I've never once in my life used "cocksucker" as an insult to equate someone to a homosexual, there's really no irony there. To me, it's just a pejorative. And besides, he might be bi. -
Well, I've never denied that I'm biased. However, considering I spent most of the Ravens-Steelers game recap criticizing my hometown team (and the myriad other shots I've taken at them this year), I'm not really sure where this talk of bias comes from. Yes, I devote more time to recapping the Ravens' games than the other games (even more when I just don't get time to actually write about the other games, like this week), but I take them to task when they screw up. And they've been doing that a lot lately...

I guess it was just a matter of time before some tool tried to be funny and talk about WWII in lame rasslin' terms. 2001 called for you, Quik. It wants its overused humor back.

Some changes we wanted to make to the layout and structure of the mainpage ended up not happening.

Happy anniversary of your birth. Have a good one, mang.

Not really a movie or trilogy question, but you mentioned the Five Wizards. I can only pull 3: Gandalf, Saruman, and Radagast the Brown. Who were the other two?

You fucking idiot. You're going to the gulag for a while, just for being such an absolute imbecile.

Let's see what I can salvage from this crappy auto-drafted team that I somewhat salvaged thru the waiver wire. Darkside Dominators(0 keepers at the moment) Dr. Tom - QB Drew Bledsoe -WR Eric Moulds - WR Javon Walker - RB Fred Taylor - RB Rudi Johnson - TE Boo Williams - WR Rod Gardner - QB Jake Delhomme - WR Cedrick Wilson - RB Amos Zereoue - K David Akers - DEF New York Jets - DEF Detroit I guess the madness round is when other people can claim (as keepers, presumably) fellows not kept by other teams?
