Compared to Stat Boy, Zach is downright stingy with the points, but I think he parcels them out better. No one should get 10-12 points just for saying a few sentences about something, however salient their points might've been. Zach still has a few rough edges, but I think he could do a good job with the show if they let him run with it. Stat Boy belongs on PTI.

The thing is, Clinton is an excellent and charismatic speaker. While he might not have had a lot in common with Reagan in regards to political ideaology, I still think he could deliver a heck of a speech. Obviously, he won't be asked to, but if I were the Reagans, I would.

Not really, no. People identify themselves as a member of a particular party, and they'll defend -- sometimes to ridiculous lengths -- the deeds and misdeeds of that party. I know a few people on both sides who can criticize their own party and its most public figures, but most people just toe the party line because it's the party line. Registered independents can be an interesting bunch. Some identify strongly with smaller parties, like the Libertarian or Green Parties, and will defend those parties' actions as staunchly as advocates of the Big Two will defend theirs. The problem is that party and political affiliation become part of many people's identities, and they're unable to take a step back and look at things objectively. Personally speaking, I'm a registered independent, a small-L libertarian, and someone who would have a hard time voting for a Democrat if there were no Republicans in a particular race. Still, I've criticized the GOP and conservative thinkers many times on many issues, and I'm sure I'll continue to do so. For example, I absolutely refuse to vote for PResident Bush this November, for several reasons, despite the fact that I'm a supporter of his.

I enjoyed the hell out of my time in London. Of course, it rained a lot, but that didn't matter. I spent a lot of time in the pubs and clubs, and in Picadilly Circus and the surrounding area. This was in 1992, of course, so things might've changed.

I'm not sure how it works on cell phones (though if you don't have caller ID on your cell phone, you badly need a new phone and/or carrier), but on landlines, you report problems to the phone company. They'll then contact the police regarding telephone abuse or telephone harassment. It's unlikely you'll find out who was calling you, but if there's a case, they'll involve you in it. Of course, that's how it works here. In different states, YMMV.

Big deal. Eric is as entitled to his opinion as everyone else. I read him before this, and I'll continue to read him now that he's demonized Reagan. Yes, I liked Reagan, as a man and a President, but I'm not going to go off on a tirade because someone wrote a column on a wrestling site that contained bad words about him.

Wow, that was a bast from the past.

Interesting. It took me a few rolls, but I figured it out. The name of the game is a pretty obvious clue once you think about it.

Official TSM Review Agree with me or not? Let it all out here.

People deserve the right and the chance to die with dignity. If someone would rather have the plug pulled than end up existing as a vegetable, then more power to him. Nowadays, it makes sense for people to draft living wills, with explicit instructions about what to do in the event they become terminally ill, comatose, etc. Having seen several situations where I wished there were a plug to pull, I know I'd rather go out with some dignity left than end up a vegetable.

I've never been a fan of interleague play. For exhibition games and the World Series, it's fine, but it just doesn't feel right during the regular season. I'd rather see teams play against other clubs in their division and league, since those are the ones (division especially) that mean more.

The man died. At least have the courtesy to spell his fucking name right. And any former president carries that title throughout his life. He was President Reagan, not "Ex-President Reagen [sic]." Tool.

RIP Mr. President. Definitely one of the great ones.

This would be because I don't really care about your precious thread. I mean, I would've, had you opened the topic like a rational human being. But swearing and yelling when you want something done will get you nowhere, at least not by me. BTW, according to the logs, Dames moved it. If you're ready to be civil, I'll move it back. Otherwise, it can languish right where it is.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban review
Dr. Tom replied to Dr. Tom's topic in Television & Film
Because I'm pimping my review, goddamnit. Now, back on topic: everyone tell me how magnificent I am. -
Are you fucking kidding me? Maybe thats worse than someone selling a used pencil with teethmarks in it because I have seen that a few times. A friend of mine has been selling dead cicadas on eBay. People on the west coast have never seen them, so they're curious enough to buy them. I swear, the sumbitch could sell ice to an eskimo...

WTF is this? It certainly doesn't belong in Current Events, and if this is the scope of your "contributions," neither do you. Moved to General Chat. Maybe someone there will know what the hell this is all about.

Agent of Oblivion: No viable footing

I'm going to see the midnight showing tonight. The first movie was OK, but it seemed like a lot of wheel-spinning and character intros leading up to a weak ending. The second one was definitely better. I'm expecting this one to be better still, especially since Chris Columbus isn't in the director's chair.

Here's some numbers I find interesting. 3 Point Percentage (League Average)...... 1984 25.1% 1989 32.2% 1994 33.3% 1999 33.9% 2004 34.7% Al, I think those numbers are misleading. The 3-point shot has become much more important in today's game than it was in 1984. In fact, it seems like almost every shot taken in the NBA today is either a dunk or a 3-pointer. Part of the reason for the low scores in the Detroit-Indiana series was the fact that the teams were basically posting up and shooting threes when they should have been finding open shots. In 1984, players could actually shoot the ball. They could hit the 12-footer in traffic if they had to. Nowdays, players make plays to get on the SportsCenter highlight reel. Why try to hit a semi-open 14-footer when you can shake and bake past a defender or two and make a reverse layup under the basket? Or when you can hit a dunk? When Robert Horry hit that big postseason shot for the Lakers a year or two ago, everybody clung to his balls about it. I never understood why: he's a power forward, so he should have been under the basket fighting for the rebound, not waiting for the improbable perfect bounce. He called it "posting up," I call it "standing around with this thumb up his ass."

1. Find an incinerator you can access late at night. 2. Take the body there. 3. Insert body into incinerator. 4. Bust out marshmallows and sticks.
