Were you ever lucky enough to experience the Grateful Dead coming to your town/city? If you could deal with all the smelly bastards and dirtbags it was a fun two or three day party. Joints and acid were everywhere and people selling $1 beer bottles/cans out of their coolers. People cooking and selling everything cheap and cops didn't give a damn as long as they didn't see anything. Good times. Looked forward to that every spring and summer. Never went to an actual show, though.
