Waitress claims Kobe groped her at Shaq's house

So it's illegal to use the accuser's complete sexual history against her, but Kobe can be attacked? Right. If this is what the prosecution is resorting to, Kobe's innocent by a mile.
  2. Perhaps I overreacted, it seemed that's what you were implying. I apologize if I misunderstood. Again after all of this, the question remains: who made you the authority? How do you KNOW? The truth is, if it's up to a god beyond our understanding, we don't KNOW if we will be saved. That's what faith is for, that's what Jesus is for. The problem I see is too heavy a reliance on the Bible. The Bible has flaws. Flaws in Jesus' message? No. But there are flaws nonetheless. The important things are the teachings, and our actions that come from them. To me, action is more important than the specific belief when manifesting faith in God. That's why I'm a little more liberal with who I believe should be saved, and why I don't think anyone will be taking a dip in a lake of fire.
  3. SP, I'm sick of your hypocrisy. Here you are, taking bullets for all your fellow misunderstood Christians around the world, and then you start spewing about stuff you know nothing about. Your generalizing is just as bad as everyone else's. Now I have many views that differ from the Church, but if we're going to talk about "a Catholic thing" please KNOW what you're talking about. The Church says sex should be both unitive and procreative, for BOTH lovegiving AND lifegiving. In their view, sex only for love is inappropriate but so is sex only for procreation. And I'm not going to pitch a fit, like you might, and tell you how to type things. But you're little Catholic vs. Christian deal really irks me. I know you may think Catholics aren't true Christians, but who made you the authority? Whose bed do I have to shake to get a second opinion? If I see some demons, maybe I'll start calling you a false believer. The really ironic thing is, you spend time calling for acceptance, while I'm the one taking time to PRAY for you, and everyone else at Mass. I say, hey you may not get it right according to my view, but God speaks many languages and you're leading a good life, so you should have a place at the table.

    The Convention

Was that before or after he asked Bush to make this an optimistic competition?

    The Convention

The thing is he didn't say ANYTHING. The EXACT SAME speech could be made by someone at a Republican event. Kerry talked about everything but policy. I'm not even sure he mentioned his time in the Senate. Of course, one could ask if your friend even knows what those issues are, considering he doesn't really follow politics. Also, anybody can grasp the issues. We all have the exact same goals. The difference lies in our methods to achieve those goals. Unfortunately, Kerry didn't say anything substantive.

So will the DNC and Sen. Kerry even sniff anything substantive tonight? So far... diddly shit.

    The Convention

Just wait and see... The Dems, Sharpton, Jackson, et al NEED black people to be dependent. Once a huge majority of blacks become successful, they won't need or want to pay for social programs and the like. That means less money for black "leaders" and fewer votes for the Dems.

    ESPN NFL 2K5 Thread

Can anybody comment on how hard you have to press the buttons? I noticed for ESPN Basketball I had to press really hard on the xbox controller, whereas with ESPN Baseball it was normal. It also seems normal on EA Sports titles. Any opinions appreciated...
  12. Why do you preface every national department with "Bush Administration"? Even if it's a president you don't like, it's still the United States Department of Justice... at least it is if you believe in the system.

Max, Shaq did not carry the team... he could not and will not win without Kobe. A, I think Shaq's work ethic and his public insults to Jerry Buss were much bigger catalysts than Kobe. It's the same old bs, Kobe doesn't like the emphasis of the team, but he sucked it up and deferred to O'Neal in order to win 3 championships; Shaq doesn't like the direction of the team, so he demands a trade.

After seeing both interviews, it's crystal clear that Kobe is a much more unselfish and respectful individual than Shaquille.

Cache of child porn found at seminary

Zsasz is referring to Catholics unaware of any abuse. While I partly agree with that, you need to be careful of worshipping your own ego. Knowing a priest is the best way to avoid that, imo. Also, Catholics believe they're actually receiving the body and blood of Christ, so an informed Catholic really doesn't think of it as appeasing God. If I don't want to go, I don't... but sometimes I feel like I need to... INXS, celibacy has NOTHING to do with pedophilia, child molestation, and rape. It has something to do with phebophilia and consensual sex, because they both deal with willing partners and actually are about sex. Pedophiles are both married & unmarried, celibate & not, at roughly the same rate. The female, jr. high teacher is married.

Federal judge nominee believes women should be

So conception by rape IS frequent? I'd say that it's more common than snowfall in Miami. Considering that the only time it ever snowed in Miami was in 1977 and all: http://www.islandnet.com/~see/weather/alma...02/alm02jan.htm Considering it is absolutely irrelevent as to whether it is frequent or not. You're right no matter how frequent those cases are, abortion is still wrong.

Federal judge nominee believes women should be

Now, we all like our women submissive and such. But there's more to be revealed here. Of course, one part of this is that we're all really intolerant, says Senator Santorum. Another part is that Miami will be covered in snow this winter. *gets popcorn* So conception by rape IS frequent? Also, NCM his Catholic views were being questioned, not his political ones. What's wrong with quoting the Bible in that case?

    What damage is that, exactly?

    Conservative? Let Kerry Win!

That logic doesn't follow... vote for a moron for two terms so a nutcase has to wait 4 extra years. 16 years of people you don't want instead of 4 years of a guy that doesn't match your politics EXACTLY?? Also, what's wrong with Dr. Rice?

Perhaps the Warriors are inflating Foyle's contract to make a 3-team deal for Shaq work. Maybe... Mavericks get: Shaq Warriors get: Howard Podkolzine Lakers get: Dampier Foyle Finley Claxton Or maybe there's a better combination.
  25. Sat Jul 3,11:11 AM ET Add Top Stories - Reuters to My Yahoo! By Khaled Yacoub Oweis BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The Iraqi official heading the investigation into alleged corruption in the United Nations (news - web sites) oil-for-food program was killed in a bomb attack earlier this week, officials familiar with the probe said on Saturday. Reuters Photo Ihsan Karim, head of the Board of Supreme Audit, died in hospital after a bomb placed under one of the cars in his convoy exploded on Thursday, the officials said. Iraq (news - web sites)'s former U.S. Governor Paul Bremer gave the board independence from the executive branch of government and appointed Karim as its head in April. The board appointed international accountants Ernst and Young in May to investigate commissions Iraqi and foreign companies paid to former President Saddam Hussein (news - web sites) and his government for securing billions of dollars worth of contracts under the 1996-2003 oil-for-food program. The investigation undermined a separate probe initiated by the now dissolved Iraqi Governing Council and led to tension with former financier Ahmad Chalabi, who holds documents alleging that some international suppliers paid at least 10 percent of the value of contracts to Saddam. Zaab Sethna, a spokesman for Chalabi, said the audit board was poorly equipped to handle the investigation. "The assassination of Mr Karim is very worrying. Bremer appointed the audit board and left them on their own," Sethna told Reuters. "The investigation was the highest profile probe the board was handling. It is impossible to speculate who killed Mr Karim, but the oil-for-food corruption involved very powerful people inside and outside Iraq," he added. The U.S. General Accounting Office (news - web sites) has said Saddam and his circle raised $4.4 billion in illegal revenue by imposing oil surcharges and commissions on suppliers of goods to Iraq under the oil-for-food program. Billions of dollars of goods flowed through the program, which the United Nations administered from New York through French bank Paribas. Under U.S. pressure, the United Nations is also investigating alleged corruption in the program, which was set up to use Iraqi oil revenue to provide Iraqis with food, medical supplies and essential equipment under U.N. supervision so that U.N. sanctions on Iraq were not violated. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=stor...il_scandal_dc_2
