2G, the Kobester's (thanks Mr. Aldridge for the worst nickname in hoops) contract would become void if he went to the clink. It's not much of a risk for the Clips.

It's a shame teachers aren't allowed to marry... this whole thing could have been prevented.
-
It's purple, you fag. Oh, and I agree. How old are you, bro?
-
Umm, up yours for rooting against Phil Mickelson. Jackass.
-
Of course. I'm including sign & trades as well. Some guys are unprotected, too.

Just because I'm nuts, I put together this list of trade possibilities. I could see the Lakers getting 3-4 players for Shaq, maybe 2-3 if it involves a big name. Discuss. Okay, now I know to ignore EVERYTHING NY Untouchable says. What a fucking nutjob.
-
First, Malone did not file for free agency, he just didn't turn in certain paperwork. It's a financial move and he'll either stay with the Lakers or retire. Second, O'Neal is pissed about Kupchak's remarks about trade possibilities. This is a good sign that the emphasis is shifting to Kobe.
-
This probably won't mean much but... Congrats to the Pistons. They deserve every ounce of credit. They dominated the Lakers in a way I could not imagine. Chauncey Billups is a real winner, proving me categorically wrong. That is a true team with players I would love to watch in any other situation. Larry Brown absolutely deserves this... a long time coming. Detroit certainly earned my respect. Way to go.

I didn't notice your prediction before the series started. Ripper, I'm talking about Jackson, I'm talking about Webber's illegal screen, I'm talking about all the little dirty shit Sacto did for 7 quarters until the 4th quarter of Game 6. I'm not even mentioning how the refs got the Kings into OT in Game 7...
-
and he just lit a fire under detroit's ass in doing so. When you're up 3-1 in the NBA Finals, you shouldn't need bulletin-board material. That shiny gold trophy should be motivation enough. Rip, I've never said Game 6 was fair, but it was justified because of the bullshit that was Game 5.

^^Mad Dog read.

Ripper, you're out of your mind. The best defensive team in the league plays more physical defense, but isn't getting called. You're delusional if you think Shaq can be guarded 1-on-1 without being fouled. The Lakers had the same number of offensive boards which means they were in position, Detroit just went over the back. Add in the phantom And 1 for Prince, that bullshit call on Payton, plus Billups hooking Kobe and losing his balance and getting the call. David Stern is apparently tired of the West. Offensively, LA lost because Kobe wasn't driving the lane and they went away from Shaq too much. Defensively, they were hampered by poor, maybe biased, officiating which ultimately cost them the game. We'll know how Game 5 will go based on whether or not Shaq gets called for stealing the tap.

Get YOU banned from TSM.

Seriously. I'm glad the speakers didn't hold back though. It seems like these people forget the fact that no one is being indoctrinated. Jobber this country, which embraces God-given rights, is bound to God whether you like it or not. As long as no one gets Jesus-freaky about it, it's peachy.

This blind Laker hatred is getting on my nerves. A better team is not necessarily a more talented one. Rip, get off SCorliss's jock strap. He got packed by Kobe fucking Bryant, a GUARD. Also, the Lakers' less-talented bench outscored the Pistons' bench. Lushus read my damn post. I said Detroit is better. I still do hope the Lakers come back and win this series. Just to shut you fuckers up. This was the Lakers worst playoff loss ever, every sane Laker fan admits that. But somehow that's not enough. Somehow you people want me to act like the Lakers did everything they could to win and got bitched. 25 points combined for the two best players in the league is not only good defense. Shaq was 7-14. If he got 25 shots, that's another 10-12 points, and maybe THEN he could've gone to the line a little more. The Pistons took care of Kobe completely. But you can't do that AND deny Shaq the ball. The Lakers went away from Shaq voluntarily... and inexplicably. I'm praying for a Laker blowout win to be followed by the expected complaints of biased officiating even though the foul and free throw discrepencies last night were big.
-
Here I am... That was easily the most pathetic performance from Shaq I've ever seen. He played like he's never seen a pick n roll before. Moron needs to STEP OUT. And, yeah, he's not challenging shit. Get your fatass off the floor. Now, I agree with him that the ball needs to start in the post more. But "the most dominant player" can't even make a one-foot shot. Kobe had his stupidest performance ever. Stop trying to draw fouls on jumpers moron. Devean George gets hot for the first time in 6 months and they won't get the ball to him. At this point Detroit is the better team... more heart, more desire, more aggression. They have less talent without a doubt, but they want to win more. And they're doing what it takes. Pathetic.
-
Please elaborate. Sure. The Lakers were down 89-83 before Shaq's 3-point play. Then Kobe tied the game. Then L.A. won the OT 10-2. 2 points in OT is an all-time Finals low. Final score: 99-91. Rip, I see what you're saying but I lump in failure to execute, getting outrebounded, & having less heart all together when I say "not interested in winning". Maybe others use it differently but in my eyes every loss is a combination of one team screwing up and the other team wanting it more.
-
Woah, woah, woah. I'll be a journalist in a few years, and I think the nastiness is very precedented.
-
And this is where you lose credibility. All playoffs you've been jumping up and down about how the Lakers would lose because the opponent beat them, not because L.A. lost the game. Now, in an exactly similar situation, you switch to the line of reasoning that you allegedly hate. A 16-4 run is not lucky, Kobe's shot was not lucky. Shaq not being fouled was, and so was Rasheed dropping the ball... but there's no guarantee he would have made the shot. Kobe was clutch, and Detroit got bitched in OT. Period. We'll see tonight who comes out better prepared.
-
kkk, they also tell us to avoid impropriety or the appearance of impropriety... maybe our lovable anchors were sick that day. The problem for Clinton is that his legacy will be, "Eh, the economy was good." Even the legacy is up for debate, but that's what it will be... not exactly the most inspiring 8 years.
-
What a game! L.A.'s fortunes changed completely with one shot. They played overmatched for most of the game, except for Lukey-baby. They have more talent, but Detroit had the desire and heart. However, the Lakers' underrated bench came through again. To his credit, Jackson did some coaching last night... he found some players that wanted to play. 16-2 run to close the game? Kobe for 3? Clutch.

Whats your favourite sports memory of all time?
Spicy McHaggis replied to Vanhalen's topic in Sports
The Lakers' memories are #1. Derek Fisher's shot will be number one in my mind if L.A. can beat Detroit. Robert Horry's shot against the Kings is up there as well, but not at the top because I'm not a big fan of him as a player. Right now, I would have to rate The Alley-Oop as the best moment. One of the biggest comebacks ever in Game 7 against Portland. The alley-oop from Kobe to Shaq summarized the year, cemented the comeback, and announced the Lakers' arrival to the Finals. It had a real "holy shit" feeling to it, like you were in unchartered territory.
