The OAO Who Should TNA Bring In Thread

Yeah you are right. The top guys get like 1,500 a week. Funk wanted 2,500 to come in. I just got the numbers mixed up in my head. Funk did come in though for a couple of meaningless appearances(so I can understand why you would forget them).

The OAO Who Should TNA Bring In Thread

Top guys in TNA get 2,500 a week, except for Jarrett who gets $3,000.

    TNA Deal Seems likely

The opening show should get a rating much bigger than the following ones, since it will be really hyped up. It is up to TNA to put on good shows if they want to keep that same number going forward. I'd guess the opening show would get anywhere from a .5-1.0, depending if FSN shows it at the same time on all of their affiliates.

    TNA Deal Seems likely

Atleast with the tv deal TNA will get to find out who draws and not, because of the ratings for each person's quarter hour.
  5. 1. Russo was behind getting XXX back together. 2. While some are trying to claim that Dutch and Jarrett are writing the shows now and Russo is just on tv because Dutch thinks he is a great tv character and Dutch is writing the role for him, the truth is Russo writes the tv. Jarrett and Dutch then get his script and change things, and often change alot. 3. The UK vs AAA matches were said to be the weakest of any so far. Dave heard alot of comments on the UK team, with all of them basically saying the UK team is nothing special. There were major style clash problems as neither are used to working the other's style and all the matches were said to be bad. The feeling after the singles matches is this would be the first X cup show that wouldn't be good. The crowd got totally behind team AAA, even more so than expected. Mr. Aguila pinned Dean Allmark. Heavy Metal pinned Robbie Dynamite in 4:00 of a match described as a mess. Dynamite dropped Metal wrong on his head. Metal was upset, decided not to trust the guy anymore, and called for the finish right away. Hector Garza pinned Frankie Sloan in a slow paced match. James Mason pinned Abysmal Negro when U.K. manager Dave Taylor hit Negro with the flag pole. 4. With Mantel now working more closely with WWC as the IWA/TNA relationship is done, Eddie Colon is expected in. 5. The plan is to start doing all live shows again starting in June or July. Dave says the indications they've gotten indicate that the taped shows have gotten better buyrates at significantly lower prices, but TNA probably have their reasons.

    Ouch

I got all my info from Wade Keller. He said they would need 25% more buys for a monthly ppv than they currently get for a weekly one to break even and I have no reason to doubt him.

All of the figures for the weekly tapings were accounted for in the numbers I gave.

I watched the show Wednesday and it didn't suck. It was simply alright. It was the first TNA I'd watched since October though and from what I've been reading on the internet it appears I've started watching again in an upturn.

How is $40 for 8 hours of wrestling not worth it if you buy WWE ppvs for $34.95 for 3 hours? TNA is 34.95 too if you buy the monthly package, which means you even get 10 hrs of wrestling for that price in some months.

Noone has really said whether the deal is for a 1 hour or 2 hour show. I would assume two hours.

Maybe maybe not. I don't keep up with ppv time purchasing costs. I do know doing one ppv live a month and not having to buy ppv time 4 times a month is going to be alot cheaper. Plus cable companies will most likely market it more when it is 1 time a month at 29.95 in their cable guides and such. I also know the cost of doing a taped show weekly is alot cheaper than doing a live one.

    Ouch

You don't comprehend. They don't need 30,000 buys a month. They only need 10,000 buys at $30 to make the same profits as they currently are doing 4 ppvs at $10 due to the lower costs.
  13. BoboBrazil

    Ouch

Not true. They would only need 25% more buys for the monthly ppvs than they currently get for one weekly ppv to make the same profit, which would equal about 10,000 buys if this 7500 number is correct. The reason for this is due to the fact of doing taped shows being cheaper than running live every week and the higher price tag for the ppv. They should be able to easily get that many buys with national tv.

    DDP Coming Out Of Retirement

DDP sent out an email today saying he was coming out of retirement and he will be taking indy bookings. TNA needs to get him asap.

The OAO Who Should TNA Bring In Thread

Kanyon(I expect he will come in when his no compete clause is up and I can't wait) Spanky(same) Juventud(permanently) Super Crazy(was super over in his one appearance with TNA, have no idea why they didn't bring him back) American Dragon(never seen the guy, but everyone raves about him and I want to see what the hype is about) Hall and Nash(as a tag team)

    DDP Coming Out Of Retirement

He should be fine only wrestling once every week or two like he would if he was in TNA.
  17. BoboBrazil

    DDP Coming Out Of Retirement

Eh DDP has never refused to put anyone over and has never really hogged the spotlight. He would still be really over with the crowd and add something to the show. Who says he is asking too much?

    Spoilers for 4/7?

    XXX not tag champs=suck.
  19. Ring of Honor booker Gabe Sapolsky will be heading down to Nashville this week to meet with Jeff Jarrett concerning the situation involving NWA TNA asking their contracted workers to no longer work for ROH, which was first reported by Mike Johnson last week. The sides are working on a compromise to the situation since it caused an uproar among the internet fan base last week, with them leaning strongly towards ROH. pwinsider.com

The OAO NWA TNA thread for 3/31/04

I can't wait to see the show. Hopefully I'll be able to after work today. This is going to be my first TNA since October.

    TNA-FSN info from Observer

He does sometimes. If you do don't ask him about upcoming storylines or ask questions about anything that is supposed to happen in the future. He will not respond to those.

    TNA-FSN info from Observer

I emailed Dave Meltzer and he said ECW never beat .25-.3.
  23. BoboBrazil

    TNA-FSN info from Observer

I know it sounds ridiculously high and that it is about 4 times the normal they do. I just haven't seen evidence anywhere to say that it is wrong. All ECW buyrate sources on the internet post this number.
  24. BoboBrazil

    TNA-FSN info from Observer

Oh, I thought you were disagreeing with 100,000 buy number. You didn't make it clear in your last post that you meant the 400,000 buy number. Maybe it just drew a huge buyrate because people thought it was the final ECW ppv? Whatever the case I don't see this number disputed anywhere by another number, so I shall take it as fact.
