Buyrate info says otherwise.
-
I checked the buyrates on google and that is what turned up on all of the pages. What is weird is that the ppv before it got only around the 100,000 or so buys like every other ECW ppv. The only thing I can attribute it to is that tons of people got it as an early Christmas gift.
-
The problem being on FSN though is that they would be preempted quite a bit by sports games, especially if it is a night time slot.
-
They would only need like 15,000 buys for them to break even with a monthly ppv. With weekly national tv they should be able to get 20,000-30,000 or even higher. ECW averaged around 100,000 buys for their ppvs, but they had a rabid fanbase and wrestling was more popular then. ECW's final ppv of 2000 "Massacre On 34th Street" grabbed a monstrous near 400,000 people, probably due to people receiving it as a Christmas gift.
-
Dave Meltzer said they proposed time slot is Sunday nights with a possibility of Sunday afternoons and Wade Keller reiterated that today.
-
They need to do what it takes to get Christopher Daniels and Low-ki on every show and not just make random appearances between Japanese tours. Juventud should come in weekly. 3 Live Krew should stay together as they are one of the most popular things in TNA(with fans in attendance). Keep pushing Raven and give him the damn title, since it is what the fans have been wanting since he entered the promotion. Don't hold back the X division and make them slow things down. TNA has said they are planning on touring in the future, but it is too early yet so no need to push them there yet. Their wrestling school should give them an available set of guys to bring up on call whenever they feel like to make into a big star that people haven't seen before. Once they get the national tv deal the videogame deal should come quickly. All of these things will help TNA succeed. TNA needs to update their merchandise more and open up an online store that doesn't suck. They could sell tapes of the weekly shows that air on FSN for an extra profit. Maybe $10 for a month of tv taping shows. Most of these things they should be doing for the weekly ppvs as it is now, but they really need to do it when they go on national tv.
-
Wade Keller talked about this on his hotline today. He said the deal is almost done and TNA is looking at it like it is a done deal. He said they would only need 25% more buys for the monthly ppv than they currently get for the weekly ppv to make the same profit and costs would be much lower since they don't have to buy live ppv time every week and put on a live show. It is almost guaranteed that they would get those buys if they had a weekly tv show on national tv to promote to one big show a month in my opinion.

Gabe Sapolsky Heading To Nashville To Meet With TN
BoboBrazil replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
Wonder if this will lead to a merger between the two companies? That would be pretty cool. -
Puerto Rican star Eddie Colon to be in next X Cup
BoboBrazil replied to LucharesuFan619's topic in TNA Wrestling
This guy is good. Smart move TNA. Does this mean the next X cup is AAA vs Puerto Rico though? -
They should give the X title to Red. The fans actually care about him. Why tear him down now?

NWA: TNA officials have continued on course towards separating their contracted performers from working for Pennsylvania-based Ring of Honor. Several sources have confirmed that officials sat down with Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles last night at the PPV in Nashville, TN to discuss the situation. I was told there "was no final decision made" coming out of the meeting, but I do know other workers were contacted as well within the last few days and were requested they no longer take bookings with ROH. Many have wondered why TNA would cut their talent off from working additional dates when they are only booking the workers three dates a month currently. According to one source, TNA was asked during a recent business meeting with television executives who follow the wrestling business if the company had a working relationship with ROH. When TNA stated that they did not, the executives noted that by TNA contracted wrestlers appearing on ROH shows, it gave the appearance that the companies were affiliated. According to the source, TNA decided at that point to ask workers to "distance themselves" from ROH, as was stated to AJ Styles last week. I believe some of the decision may also have to do with wanting to maintain "exclusivity" with their performers during TV negotiations, although ROH does not currently have any public distribution outlet beyond their in-house home video sales. I am told the recent Rob Feinstein situation has nothing to do with the TNA decision. In recent weeks, TNA has been hard at work trying to secure a slot with the FOX Sports Network, to the point that a number of prospective taping sites have been brought up internally, including Las Vegas, Orlando, and Atlantic City. Part of the reason for the "new direction" seen by NWA: TNA in recent weeks is to maintain a clean image during the negotiations. There is has also been some discussion within TNA that the talent could return to ROH once the television negotiations are completed, as it is seen as a payday for the boys, but nothing is certain. pwinsider.com

More On TNA Telling Wrestlers Not To Work For ROH
BoboBrazil replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
There is a good reason for this. It is confusing TV executives. Why should they give TNA a deal when other feds are using the same talent? -
Well Sting won't wrestle for them unless Luger comes in. I don't know if they count Luger's last appearance towards that or not. Why care about Sting anyway? He is just coming in for 1 or 2 shows. If he was on every week it would be different.
-
Eh who cares anymore. I bet he will be in the mystery tag team and I bet he's bringing shithead Luger with him as the other half.

Wrestling fans across the planet. Listen, allow me to smack your foreheads with some news. These are the true facts on ICP'S, NWA TNA departure. Shaggy and myself, along with internationally respected, professional wrestling, super athletic stars, The Rude Boy and 2 Tuff Tony, have officially left NWA TNA Wrestling at this time. Yes, this is true and yes this is stale. Even though Mike Tenay is there at TNA and we fuckin absolutely loved hearing him commentate our matches, we still had to leave. Unfortunately, the last time we appeared on TNA Pay Per View, me and Shaggy and our pals got beat like rag doll bitches all over the building. Therefore, we in fact feel we got some SERIOUS unfinished business there. Even so, for the time being, we had to straight up bail. The fact is that the Insane Clown Posse have NOT left TNA for GOOD, like our website had stated before. That was only a typo. In fact, I won't even front. We lied about that. So what. We always lie about everything. The Truth is, unlike before with us and wrestling, THIS TIME, we didn't just run out of the business like byatches. The fact is that we just happen to be multi-talented ass ninjas. You see, we got the whole massive Dark Lotus Tour rehearsals going on, along with mad musical recordings, and so much other shit happening at once that we JUST HAD to take a break from TNA Pay Per Views at this time. Plus my fuckin' neck hurts. So we went back into hiding. We left, FOR NOW, that is. See, the real truth is that we love NWA TNA because they're good people over there and it's hella fun for us. Even while we're getting our faces blasted with fists, boots and chairs, we can't stop laughing and loving it. We are fuckin' TNA Wrestling marks and we still watch every Wednesday. Whether we're watching from the bus, the studio or from behind a hoe's big ass, we always watching Wednesday night. Because we love that shit. This ain't no plug bitch. We love WWE too, we can't front. We watch that shit too. We just love wrestling. Simply because we do bitch. THE FUTURE? HERE IT IS... KNOW THIS... We Will be back to the NWA-TNA Asylum just when everybody least expects it. We WON'T TELL YOU WHEN WE ARE GONNA RETURN, because that part WILL BE AN AMBUSH... An ambush all ON MONTY BROWN'S BIG DUMB ASS. Why? Because he tried to break my boy 2 Tuff Tony's neck when he Power Bombed him on that ladder. WHEN WE RETURN, THE HIT IS ON MONTY BROWN. Monty Brown aka The Alpha Stale, will get his. Don't sleep TNA Fans. We'll be back soon. insaneclownposse.com

Oh what the fuck. They took Juventud out of Team AAA too. This ppv is going to suck cock.
-
I know. This is going to be the least bought X Cup show ever. Noone cares about UK wrestlers, except people in the UK and they can't even order the ppv so what is the point?
-
Bleh. Still not sold on a UK team. Has anyone ever seen a match with any of these guys?
-
--Make of this what you wish. WWE has purchased the domain name newecw.com which at this point directs you to wwe.com. This pretty much says that they are strongly considering doing a Saturday night TV show using the ECW name. Dave Meltzer

Jarrett Victory in Mexico causes riot
BoboBrazil replied to OldSchoolWrestling's topic in TNA Wrestling
Fans in the asylum should take note of this and throw garbage at Jarrett whenever he walks out to cut a promo or wrestle. Eventually he would just stop coming out... -
1.Part of the change in going towards "wrestling reinvented is to get a tv deal. Fox Sports is insisting on a clean product. At this point there is no deal. What is being talked about is a try out on Sunday nights. This would be similar to the tryout FSN gave UFC that didn't lead to a deal even though ratings were strong, because sponsors shied away. The shows would be taped Thursdays in Orlando and if they deal comes through they would likely have a regular 40 man roster. 2. There has been alot of talk lately about ownership. The people who backed the Randy Savage rap cd have expressed interest in the company. Thus far nothing has happened here either, but their is hope Panda will either step up to the plate and spend the money to upgrade the product and do television or get rid of it and let someone else take it over. 3. ICP left over booking differences.

-Jeff Jarrett held a meeting with the wrestlers prior to last night's NWA-TNA pay-per-view. Jarrett said he is aware of the various rumors floating around about a potential television deal, but said he would not address the issue until the time is right. Meanwhile, the rumors in the locker room are that the company is still negotiating with Fox Sports Network. The plan is still to tape the shows on Thursdays at Universal Studio in Florida, and sources believe the show will actually air late Friday afternoon or Saturday morning. The strategy is to not only save money, but also to avoid conflicts with the network's regional sports coverage. -X Division Champion Chris Sabin will be out of action for at least eight weeks due to a knee injury. No word as to whether TNA is going to strip Sabin of the X Title. I think he's only defended the belt once or twice since winning it in January anyway. Sabin has still been working the TNA shows, but he's been lost in the America's X Cup shuffle. -More than one TNA wrestler is upset that Julio Dinero is being left off the shows because of the fight that took place between his tag team partner C.M. Punk and Teddy Hart. "Julio never bitched and the poor guy was let go because of Punk," said one wrestler. Despite the wrestler's claim, I don't believe Julio or Punk have actually been released from their deals, but clearly management is hot at Punk for his role in the fight. Insiders say management is going light on Teddy Hart because they believe Punk started the fight, but no one seems to know why Julio is being left home. -TNA wrestlers have been chuckling at Jack Evans behind his back for coming off like a lackey for Teddy Hart. "The only thing Jack ever says is 'Yeah' after Teddy says something," one wrestler said while laughing. "He just backs up whatever Teddy says and keeps to himself otherwise." -TNA officials are planning to bring in different wrestlers to compete for Team Japan in the X Cup challenge. I believe Nosowa will still be part of the team, but he may be the only remaining member at this point.
-
I say yes. He could come in and feud with Monty Brown.
