Is there any reason to think this will happen? He's available to appear now and there is no reason why they shouldn't take him.

Konnan was backstage at the PPV last night. I don't know if he has been hired yet by World Wrestling Entertainment yet or not, but there has been a lot of talk that he would be brought into the company as a favor to his old friend Rey Mysterio. Konnan has been working for NWA TNA recently, doing some wrestling and announcing, making a reported $500 a week. According to a few people I talked to, Konnan has been talking to Rey and other friends of his in WWE about being brought in recently due to the fact that he just isn't making any real money working for TNA. pwinsider.com I hope TNA jobs him on Wednesday or does something to take him out. Give Monty Brown the rub by having him destroy him.
-
Jarrett said it would have replays on FSN.
-
Eh, I can see Konnan lasting awhile in WWE. He connects with the fans and can cut a pretty good promo. He should be one of the more popular characters if he ends up on Smackdown. Of course that means he will be a heel and won't get any mic time going by how WWE usually does things.
-
He just hyped TNA on Survivor. He hyped the Wednesday ppvs and the FSN show.

What TNA's New National Cable Clearance Means To
BoboBrazil replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
double post -
When Jerry and Jeff Jarrett first launched NWA-TNA, the idea was to buck the system and promote wrestling with an entirely new business plan, one with PPV but without a national TV clearance. It didn't take long for reality to sink in. The PPV industry wasn't supportive enough of the product, the internet fan base wasn't as large or supportive as they had figured, and fans in general weren't ready to pay $9.95 per week to watch a two hour live wrestling show. Now, having survived two years when critics thought they wouldn't last two months, they have made a major shift in their business plan. The new deal to air a weekly one-hour show on Fox Sports Net gives them their biggest vehicle yet to promote their stars and their weekly PPV events. On the bright side, the Fox Sports Network clearance gives TNA credibility it didn't have before due to an affiliation with a major sports network. TNA will brand its product as often as possible with the Fox Sports logo, which could open doors to other deals with marketing and advertising deals. There will be beneficial cross-promotion with Fox Sports, beginning with Jeff Jarrett's interview on May 13 on FSN's "Best Damn Sports Show, Period." On the down side, the TV timeslot is about as bad as it could possibly be. Fridays at 3 p.m. ET means most wrestling fans will never know they even exist as the vast majority of their target demographic will be at work or college classes when the show is on. The unemployed who are home then aren't likely to have $40 a month for weekly PPV purchases. Those who are home during the day to see the show likely work at night and thus aren't around to order the live Wednesday night PPVs. Kids who are getting home from school on the East Coast can catch the show, but how many kids can talk their parents into ordering a wrestling PPV each week? Plus, Friday is five days from the next PPV, with a weekend and three weekdays in between for people to forget about the show the show is plugging. On the bright side, the afternoon clearance means there will be few if any preemptions most weeks for regional sports coverage. FSN is different from most cable networks such as Spike TV, USA, TBS, and TNT in that it has over 20 different regional feeds, all of which air a mix of national and local sports programming. An evening timeslot would have been bad for TNA because it would be preempted so often for local sports. A weekend slot would be better, and it was talked about, but it also would have been more expensive for TNA. This deal already threatens to break the bank if it doesn't result in at least a doubling of PPV purchases quickly. TNA is clearly looking at this as a way to get their foot in the door. The 52-week deal, with what sources say includes an out clause for both sides after 26 weeks, may lead to a better timeslot on FSN down the line. Or better yet, it could lead to TNA gaining enough credibility to negotiate with a regular cable channel such as FX or TBS which would feel better about picking up a weekly evening prime time slot after TNA proves itself with FSN first. TNA plans to try to take advantage of its national clearance by upping the star power on its shows, potentially including Hulk Hogan, Randy Savage, Ultimate Warrior, Scott Hall, Kevin Nash, and Sting, not to mention Johnny Fairplay in a prominent role, capitalizing on his recent appearance on a Survivor reunion show on CBS where he won an award as Survivor's best all-time villain. TNA is shifting its business plan in other ways. Jerry Jarrett originally spelled out a vision for TNA to be a source for talent on indy shows. TNA has plugged regional NWA indy events across the country on its PPV telecasts. Now TNA is looking into signing wrestlers to guaranteed salaries, but with the rights to send them to indy shows as part of that guaranteed salary. That would put TNA in the position of being an aggressive booking agent keeping wrestlers busy across the country. It would further lock up their top names and prevent them from being free agents and booking their own dates in the U.S. or elsewhere. TNA officials had considered cutting out the weekly Wednesday night format and moving to a more traditional and familiar monthly Sunday night three-hour PPV format, using the weekly FSN clearance to promote it. A number of factors led to that change not being made at this time, but it is still a consideration down the line, especially if the buyrates of the Wednesday events (believed to be in the 8,000-10,000 range each week) don't pick up with the new national cable clearance. This isn't TNA's first foray into a weekly TV show. They began syndicating a weekly show called TNA Explosion last year. The timeslots and stations for the syndicated network are weak and haven't led to a noticeable jump in buys, although it may be responsible for a certain percentage of weekly customers at this point. TNA has also attempted to improve its internet marketing with email updates throughout the week to its email list, informing fans of what each week's line-up is. But with weekly losses adding up for the ownership group Panda Energy, small grassroots efforts weren't enough to boost buyrates to a profitable level. Panda Energy, though, sees the incredible money WWE makes during its strong fiscal quarters. Jerry Jarrett knows as well as anyone how much potential there is for two thriving wrestling companies to coexist in the U.S. While the new FSN timeslot is hardly the revival of the Monday Night War with Raw and Nitro, it does present WWE with its most significant competition since it purchased WCW's scraps from Time-Warner three years ago. The goal of the Jarretts and Panda Energy is to become a true competitor for top names which means drastically increasing its revenues on PPV and eventually other areas such as TV ad revenue, house shows, merchandising, and other product tie-ins. TNA officials continue to talk about the possibility of running house shows regularly. TNA plans to set itself apart from WWE by presenting its Impact TV show matches in a six-sided ring, something TNA viewers got a glimpse of on a PPV earlier this year when footage was shown from use of a six-sided ring in Puerto Rico. The six-sided ring gives TNA an immediate "fresh and different" appearance that could stop some channel flippers who otherwise might breeze past it. The biggest fault of TNA during its two year run has been the inability to convince enough fans that their product is consistently good enough to be worth $9.95. In an informal poll on the TORCH VIP message boards, the number one reason cited by readers visiting the "TNA Discussion" area for not ordering TNA more often is the inconsistent quality of the shows and the push of Jeff Jarrett. When TNA premiers on FSN, everyone in TNA expects a revamped approach to booking. A.J. Styles, currently the NWA World Hvt. Champion, is slated to hold the title for a while with the promotion being built around him. He is their most dazzling wrestler who also is a well-rounded wrestler. TNA can stand out from WWE not necessarily in overall in-ring quality or star power given what Raw has offered lately, but it can offer a more dazzling style with its X Division since WWE continues to drop the ball on its Cruiserweight Division. For TNA to succeed in the long run, the product has to be more impressive and consistent than it has been so far.

What TNA's New National Cable Clearance Means To
BoboBrazil replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
They've taken a family friendly direction, with a mix of wrestling and promos. Match times have all increased and average matches go much longer than they did a year ago. They are focusing more on in ring now. The America's X cups have all been good except the UK one. This next one is shaping up to be awesome with Canada, Japan, USA, and Mexico all competing. Someone who saw the matches that were pretaped before this past ppv for it said they were awesome. -
What TNA's New National Cable Clearance Means To
BoboBrazil replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
They've had the same direction for like 3 months now without it changing. I'm pretty sure they are sticking with this one. -
"Wow" That one word pretty much sums up everything that's happened in TNA this past week. Scratch that - make that the past few months. Rumors had been making the rounds on the internet in the weeks leading up to the announcement, but the planning for the new Fox Sports Net show had been ongoing for months. During that time, the details were kept under wraps, but a massive amount of planning was being done by TNA management to get the deal done. And finally, this past Wednesday, the fruits of everyone's hard work in the company paid off. The TNA superstars, informed of the final deal prior to the Pay-Per-View during a talent meeting, erupted into applause when it was announced. Sitting there in the bleachers alongside everyone - I've got to say it was one of the best feelings I've ever had in my time in the wrestling business. Success, redemption, pride - I felt them all right then and there. It's great to accomplish something as a team again. I haven't felt like this since I was with the WWF and we overcame WCW to win the Monday night ratings war. It may sound cliche, but it's true - TNA going national on Fox Sports Net wouldn't have happened without you, the fans. The fans who pay to watch us every week on Pay-Per-View. The fans who come to the Asylum in Nashville every Wednesday night. And of course, the fans who visit our website. From me, I say thanks! But, the work has just begun. The hours are about to get even crazier for all of us. Travel plans are ongoing for our trip to Orlando each week, and the superstars have even been getting measured for new ring attire. There are so many questions still to be answered about "Impact!", but rest assured, they will come in the days ahead. The face of TNA is about to change - and I'm excited again. Enough of my blathering - let's get to the news.... This past week on the "Between The Ropes" wrestling show, Jeff Jarrett spoke at length about the details of the new "Impact!" show, and even spoke about a new and innovative ring that will be used on the show. "Not the traditional four sided ring" Jarrett said. Very, very interesting. In addition, I've also seen bits and pieces of the new set and arena design for the show, and I've got to say I'm thoroughly impressed. I think fans will be as well. TNA also got some major press this week thanks to our very own Jonny Fairplay, who appeared on Survivor Thursday night and walked away with top honors in two "Best Of Survivor" categories. Millions of people saw the broadcast and heard about TNA thanks to Fairplay, who from what I understand will be returning to TNA in the near future. Add to that Jarrett's appearance on "Best Damn Sports Show Period" on Thursday, and it was a very good day for us to put it mildly. Obviously, with a new show upcoming TNA is going through tremendous growth - and that means bringing in new production staff to help. This past week, Hector "Moody" Melendez joined TNA to assist in various areas including Spanish marketing, broadcasting and video editing. By all accounts, "Moody" was key in helping the IWA in Puerto Rico achieve success in recent years and he's a welcomed addition to the TNA family. Chances are yours truly will end up sharing an apartment in downtown Nashville with Moody, right next door to Tim Welch and Jeremy Borash. That's a scary thought! In addition to Moody, it appears referee Andrew Thomas is also close to accepting a full time job with TNA in our offices as well. The Homicidal, Genocidal, Suicidal Sabu signed a long-term contract with TNA this past week, joining Amazing Red, Sonjay Dutt, Traci and Monty Brown as new signees in recent weeks. Ok, get ready to say "WHAT?" (5,4,3,2.....1) Vince Russo is attending Seminary School. Yes, you saw right. Go back and read it if necessary. In all seriousness, Russo told me this past week he's been accepted to Seminary School, with his ultimate goal of becoming a Pastor. No, this is not a joke. It's a big step for Russo to take, who in the past year has certainly been a changed man - both mentally, physically and spiritually. I say hats off to him and congratulations, but I've gotta tell you having been friends with Russo for close to ten years now, it's a weird feeling to compare him now to the Russo I first met in WWF who was responsible for the "Crash TV" evolution. But, like he told me last week, "Everyone can change". There's a newsbit for you internet journalists to chew on for a while. This Wednesday night on Pay-Per-View features what I think will be one of our most innovative World Title matches to date as we debut the "Deadly Draw" bout featuring AJ Styles, The Truth, Raven and Wildcat Chris Harris. For a detailed explanation of the rules, check out the official preview by CLICKING HERE. Wednesday night will also see the in-ring wrestling return of the American Dream Dusty Rhodes as he teams with James Storm to take on NWA World Tag Team Champion Kid Kash and Dallas. It's always fun to see The Dream in the ring, and this Wednesday should be an entertaining match. But please, someone tell Dusty to NEVER EVER take his boots off again in the ring. Did you people get a look at those little piggies?? Regardless, Dusty's "interview" with Kid Kash was priceless. Speaking of Kid Kash, hats off to the superstar for competing with major pain against James Storm this past Wednesday night. A few weeks ago, Kash was bitten by a spider and suffered an arm infection in the process. Last weekend, the infection came back and Kash had to spend the day in a hospital. Still hurting on Wednesday, Kash heavily wrapped the injury and gutted it out against Storm. You may have noticed several TNA superstars wearing a "Property Of TNA" T-shirt this past week during the Pay-Per-View. The new shirt will be available here on the website in the days to come. Abyss has become a regular for the AAA promotion in Mexico in recent weeks, home to the defending Americas X Cup champions Team Mexico. The superstar has fast become a major force in the promotion, and is featured on their shows this weekend in Mexico. Thanks to TNA management's blessing, I made a pretty dramatic change to the Xplosion format in recent weeks. We now feature the great photography taken by Lee South right here on the website. I've heard nothing but praise for the new switch and I hope you all like it. What happens when four Japanese superstars come to Nashville, Tennessee for a week? A huge language barrier and plenty of laughs, that's what. The members of Team Japan from the All Japan promotion were in attendance this past week for the Pay-Per-View, and a funny story happened involving them and TNA office coordinator Tim Welch. Earlier in the day, D'Lo Brown (who worked with the newcomers in All-Japan and helped them along during their travels) came to Welch and requested some meal tickets for them to use (for everyone in TNA, lunch starts at 1:30 and you have to present a ticket to get your meal). So, Welch gives D'Lo the tickets and goes about his business. At around 5PM, long after lunch was over, the Japanese superstars all approach Tim, holding up their meal tickets. Welch assumes they forgot to give the attendants their tickets when they ate, so he takes them and proceeds to rip them up and throw them in the garbage. For the next half hour or so, the All-Japan superstars follow Tim around like puppy dogs, which Welch is perplexed by due to the language barrier. FINALLY, one of the All-Japan guys gets Welch's attention and manages one English word while rubbing his stomach - "Hungry!" Apparently, D'Lo had neglected one important detail when presenting the group their meal tickets - where to actually acquire said meal. They had never eaten lunch, were starving, and Welch acted like a complete jack@$$ by ripping up their meal tickets right in front of them. Tim apologized and made good the best he knew - they all jumped in his car and went to Burger King for burgers and fries! That's it for this week - enjoy Wednesday's Pay-Per-View! Bill Banks

Jeff Jarrett On Best Damn Sports Show Recap
BoboBrazil replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
I don't think you should be banned from the TNA folder for posting negative things so much as you do it in EVERY thread. We get you don't like TNA. Stop posting negative shit in every thread. Plus you have this arrogant attitude about it all. edit-This was to MikeSC by the way. -
From the totalnonstop messageboard: "[sarcasm]Oooh, he's worth the money now[/sarcasm] Yup, Bobo, it pissed you off on TSM --- it'll piss you off here. -=Mike ...Hey, why not try to get me banned here? BWA HA HA HA HA! " That is really mature...
-
TNA getting a plug on a national tv show that will most likely get somewhere a 10.0-15.0 rating is huge. It is really getting old of you coming in every TNA thread and shitting on it. You should be banned from this folder really.
-
According to pwinsider they are set up for 52 weeks at the 3pm timeslot and if they do a decent rating there is a chance they will get moved to a better time slot(which shouldn't be hard considering the ratings everything on that channel gets).
-
Jeff is gonna be on the show tomorrow night to hype the FSN/TNA deal.

Jeff Jarrett On Best Damn Sports Show Period Tomor
BoboBrazil replied to BoboBrazil's topic in TNA Wrestling
http://www.foxsports.com/named/BDSSP There's the website. You can email or voicemail in questions for him. "Will Tom survive the devastating wrestling moves of Jeff Jarrett?" is the tag line for the episode. -
Meltzer hates Russo. He usually finds a way to diss him in every TNA review. He has lightened up on TNA in the last few weeks it seems though as a whole. I think he might be alot easier on it once it gets on free tv, since he won't have to pay(atleast on the tv show). If they use the 6 sided ring for the tv show they might as well use it for the ppv as well. It makes no sense in using one ring for hte show and the other for the ppv.
-
The using the 6 sided ring for every match was in the new Observer as well.
-
I'm kind of hyped for this FSN deal now. If it gets replayed like 2 or 3 times a day this is going to give them tons of exposure.

FSN at 7:30PM every week night. -
Noone debuted except for Dusty returning. Kanyon was nowhere to be found. The big announcement was the FSN deal.

Kanyon is available to work next week's ppv. Here is hoping TNA brings him in.
