Another reason I do not subscribe to the Observer, I do not give a fuck about international wrestling. -
WWE News And Notes From 12/6 Observer
geniusMoment replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in The WWE Folder
This is what I dislike about Meltzer, he takes stories that the general wrestling fan doesn't give a fuck about, Ebersol, and makes them front page stories. But, thanks for taking the time to do this. -
So Bonds admits to using steriods "Unknowingly"
geniusMoment replied to MikeJordan23's topic in Sports
Except that is was an illegal performance enhancing drug, ruining many of his stats. The bottom line is this. If one is to believe Bonds, then you must think that Conte intentionally falsified documents in order to incriminate Bonds, despite the fact that these said documents would incriminate him, making him guilty of steriod distribution. Basically one is then saying Conte is willing to go to jail for years in order to make sure Bonds' records are tainted. Give me a break. Every bit of evidence states Bonds has been using steriods since before the 2001 season. Anderson became Bonds trainer before the 2001 season. Bonds told Sheffield just to take what Anderson gave him. Sheffield, Marion Jones, Jason and Jeremy Giambi, and other athletes were all told or found out what they were taking. Bonds was friends with the trainer for years, why would the trainer lie to him? They have certified documents with Bonds' name on them, detailing cycles for HGH and other designer steriods dating back to prior to the 2001 season. Bonds admitted to "unknowingly" put the cream and clear on his body, why would Conte not lie about that, but then lie about what else Bonds was using. GUILTY GUILTY GUILTY -
So Bonds admits to using steriods "Unknowingly"

They also have sheets with Bonds' name on them, telling them when Bonds will go on and off the cycle for HGH, steriods and a few other illegal designer substances. These documents, according to one of the writers from the SF chronicle, were obtained in a raid on BALCO. These documents date back to before the 2001 season, in other words, Bonds legacy is tarnished. Say hello to Mr. Rose, it could not happen to a nicer guy. A cannot wait to hear Joe Morgan try to defend Bonds now. And to Dr. Mik, I did not want that asshole Bonds to break the record anyway, so I am thrilled that he is forever going to be remembered as a cheat. -

Alice in Chains unplugged was a great album, I can listen to it all the way through.

This ppv will be just like the Holla Holla Holla tour, off the hizzle fo' shizzle.

The reds sign Paul Wilson to a 2 year deal, with a club option for a third. Financial terms were not disclosed.

Oh thank goodness, I was so worried some tragedy would befall this princess. I can finally rest now that she has safely delivered these two wonders into the world.

Probably because like Raven, the Dudley Boys have displayed staying power that lasts beyond ECW. The Public Enemy were useless away from ECW. Just my opinion, and that comes without having seen the dvd. Then people are not answering the question properly. The question was not, which wrestlers went on to succeed after leaving ECW. Just in terms of drawing fans, and how they were viewed, no way were the Dudleys ahead of many of the people that are listed below them on most of the lists. In terms of importance to ECW, not anywhere else, to rate PE below the Dudleys is insane. I remember watching PE at 3 in morning on Friday night here in Cincy, my parents should be shot for letting an eleven year old watch ECW. But, 10 years later I have not killed anyone so I guess it all worked out.

Dave Meltzer's shit is more credible than you are. Just thought you should know. Thanks, I appreciate knowing your opinion of Meltzers fecal matter. -

Shane left before you could call Dean Douglas a failure, and he played the part pretty well. If he had stuck around, with Hall and Nash leaving, and Bret going home, Douglas would have probably been elevated to main event status. With the WWF switching to a more realistic approach, it would not have been long before Dean become the Franchise. -
I think everyone is overrating the Dudley's importance to ECW. They were viewed as nothing goofs until mid 97. They were squashed by the Eliminators at the first ppv for a reason. The Public Enemy, Gangstas, Eliminators and the Impact Players were all viewed as higher on the food chain by the company and fans. The only time the Dudley's were considered a main event act was during the bad times of 98 and 99. Even then, they were not viewed as the big acts. The Public Enemy, Gangstas and Eliminators were much more important in building ECW, and the Impact Players were the team that then ran with it. Paul did not even really want the Dudleys anymore, they would have stayed for much less money. They were a tired act, and were clogging up the card. To rate the Dudleys ahead of people like The Sandman, Taz and Shane Douglas in terms of importance is just ludicrous. If some of you are getting your info from the ECW dvd, trust me, the Dudleys are way too hyped in that production. They were viewed by most fans going to the shows as Balls and Axl.

Meltzer piece on TNA from 11/29 Observer
geniusMoment replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
Shane was one of the hottest heels in the company from 96-late 97, I watched virtually every television show they did. He may not have been Raven, but he was a different type of heel. I agree that from 98-till now he was basically worthless, with one arm injury after another. But, during the first 4 years of ECW is was as big a part of ECW growing as almost anybody. You can say anybody could have been Shane, but the simple fact is nobody was in that position but him, and for 4 years he played his role well. Also, ECW was getting big praise before Raven even came into the fold. There were weekly articles in the newsletters about how innovative the product was, and how it was building. Raven came onto a train already gaining steam and just helped continue that process. Mick even mentions in his book what a standout performer Shane could have been if he could have gotten that big break, and not made some bad career choices. I guess it comes down to what do you consider as doing something in the wrestling business. Does that person need to be a major drawing card around the country or radically change the business? -

Shane Douglas has done many things in the business. He was a great heel in ECW from 96-late 97. Was a founding member of ECW, a company which had great impact. He threw done the NWA belt and was one of the cornerstones of ECW. Douglas had some good matches with Rick Steamboat as his partner in WCW. I can understand not liking Shane, but to say he has done nothing in the businss is pretty fucking stupid. If you read my post you will see I said even if they get a deal they will probably fail. As for Dusty Rhodes booking sucking, and driving Crockett out of business, I agree. But, with that said I still think he is a better choice than Jarrett, and am actually willing to give him a chance before writing him off. Between Douglas, Rhodes and Flair now, I would put none on my roster, as they all suck cock. Yes, Ric Flair sucks cock now. Its not like I actually like TNA, its just Melter has an obvious bias in his writing when it comes to Flair, and people who he feels did flair wrong. This is obviously due to Meltzers like of Flair in a very sexual type of way. The facts are the facts. -
Gail Kim is seriously dating one of the Basham's, I forget which according to Meltzer and Keller. Hell, they even have been seen together as a couple, they went to some wedding together.

Meltzer piece on TNA from 11/29 Observer

Dave paints a bleak picture. But, you must remember Dave has been saying TNA is probably going to fail soon for over a year and a half. He does not like many of the people in the company, especially now that Rhodes has the book. A company with both Rhodes and Shane Douglas, both rivals of Ric Flair, is going to be shit on by Dave "I want gay sex with Ric Flair" Meltzer a lot. With all that said, the numbers are what they are. The ppv numbers were good, and it does not make sense that they keep on brining in high priced old guys if the Carters are so concerned with money now. I never believed TNA would get a prime time slot on FSN for a good rating on the specials so I cannot be too upset about that. Basically, the same problem still exists. TNA needs to get a prime time slot on a cable network, without it they will eventually fail. Actually, with it they will probably fail, but its the only chance they have. -
Damn. I don't think they will get far asking for that much money... that is if we are even expected to believe that information. Beli dat playa... the sniffers (and they are) were probably earning that in the WWE, which is why they are asking for that amount from indy promoters. Kim is not easy to deal with. . . Be clear, what the fuck do you mean by sniffers. I assume coke head but I am not sure.

Any segment featuring Dawns ass is okay by me.

Mike actually enlisted in the army. He is going over to Iraq to fight for the cause. Save us from the terrorists mike, save us.

Whats sad is if Paul had let Sabu go to WCW in February of 2000, he would have had a 3 year 300,000 per year deal, the last two years of which he could have sat at home, rested, and collected money. Instead, Paul made an example out of a man who basically sacrificed his physical well being for ECW. I was a huge ECW fan, but this leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Did you happen to follow ECW around for a summer? No, thats 21 shows over a two year period. Including the shows from Dayton, Cincy, Chicago, Louisville, Lexington and Indianapolis. All of those cities are within 5 hours of my house in Cincinnati. Still, ppv or not, the ECW arena was the best place to see ECW action. Sure, it smelled like pee, but it was EC fuckin' W.

The network, and especially Cyrus, were great. "Where's the coffee Paul".
