Without question, ECW. If you never got to go to a live event you truly missed something special. No live event can compare to the feeling that ECW gave you. From my first trip to the ECW arena, a 15 hour drive with my friends, as a Sophomore in high school in 1998 to a TNN taping in Cincy during the fall of ECW I went to 21 ECW shows. There was, and is, nothing like it. I do not care if it was a the best card in the world, or the worst, I would take ECW back in a second.

If I needed to sucker punch someone to get them off of an innocent kid, who bet your ass I would. However, in this case the player was already off the kid, and was being pushed away when sucker punched if you are talking about who I am thinking of.

I have been taunted more times than I can count playing college baseball. They say they hope I have aids and die, that I am gay, that they want me to die and just about everything else. Hell, one time I was throwing on the sidelines and a fan hit me in the back of the head with a golf ball. I did not run up into the stands and start fighting with people, because I am not a complete and total fucking moron like Ron Artest. Doing what he did is inexcusable on every level. I wish he were suspended for life, that is complete bullshit. For everyone who blames the fans for fighting Artest, I would have too after I saw him hitting some 170 pound kid in the stands. I would have done whatever necessary to get Artest off that kid, its called defending someone.

Bowden: Traded Burba for Sean Casey Got Pete Schourek for nothing from the mets Signed John Smiley, both Pete and John helped Cincy make it to the 95 NLCS Traded Smiley for Danny Graves after Smiley was already done Traded Drew Henson for unber prospect and potential 50 home run man Wily Mo Pena Convinced the team to take a chance on Adam Dunn even though the president of the team thought it was stupid to draft a college football player Brought in Jeff Brantley as a closer, then brought in Jeff Shaw as a set up guy, before Brantley was moved for the valuable Dmitri Young Traded nothing for Greg Vaughn, the leader and RBI and HR guy for the 99 team Had deals in place for Scott Rolen and Bartolo Colon when the reds were in contention, both sides agreed to the deals but management nixed them due to money, all the reds would have given up was Brandon Larson and a couple of marginal prospects Brought in Jose Guillen, who was a great success for the reds Traded Bret Boone for Denny Neagle, Boone was horrible in Atlanta, Neagle led the Reds to a one game playoff in 99 Brought in Kevin Mitchell, who was outstanding, leading the reds into first place during the 94 season when the strike hit He also brought in Tony Fernandez and Bip roberts, 2 other valuable players to that team and many more good moves... The deal on Bowden is this. He was told by reds management that the team would have a payroll of 70 million when they went into their new stadium, that offseason management decided to be cheap and Bowdens plan fell apart. Bowden had Larkin traded but Linder stepped in and signed him for 27 million over 3 years, then told Bowden to cut the budget. The Griffey deal was bad, but every gm would have made the sweet deal he made at the time. Bowden had many flaws, and made some stupid moves (Paul O'Neill for Roberto Kelly) but to say, "What did Jim Bowden ever do" is pretty stupid in my opinion.

Look on the bright side, Raw will be better than smackdown this week. As this will be the Thanksgiving smackdown where they know no people are watching. We will have the annual thanksgiving skank off, be it in costums or in a pit of something.

ECW facts, tidbits, and stuff people forgot
geniusMoment replied to JoeDirt's topic in General Wrestling
Nothing personal against Funk. But, Dreamer winning the world title after a long, violent match against Raven at Barely Legal would have been the ultimate ppv ending. It was the match most fans wanted. I hated it when Tommy gave Funk his spot in the 3-way-dance that should have never occurred. It should have just been Raven-Dreamer in the ppv main from the start. -
Actually, I secretly own TNA. Yeah I know, I suck at running a wrestling company.
-
What about the smarks IRC chat room we had a couple of years ago, would it be a consideration to bring it back? Plus, then we would be kickin' it old school.

No clean finishes ever, no matter what. It does not matter if it is an opening match on a house show between two jobbers, or the main event of Starrcade, no clean finishes, and plenty of screw job endings, making the fans upset. But, Dusty was a booker on Nitro during the shows run, sans Russo era. In fact, he was one of the bookers during the shows final months when the product showed some signs of life.

I wonder how many "happy endings" Joy is going to give during her tenure in the wrestling business.

Ratings for the two BDSSP shows and VR
geniusMoment replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
That stigma is attached even more to UFC. Hell, UFC has a hard time even being allowed in most states. That eliminates that option. FSN already has had a featured boxing show. I watched Sunday Night Fights all summer, it had Max Kellerman as a co-host. Boxing's demographics are not exactly great either. The show never picked up momentum, much like ESPN's tuesday and friday night fights. This is because they can only get mediocre fights on cable, therefore you are pretty much stuck at a certain rating. TNA, however slim the chance, has the possibility of taking off. Sometimes a network must look past some initial ad rates in order to see the big picture. Do not get me wrong, I am not saying TNA is the answer, and it will make it big. But, out of the three options mentioned earlier TNA has the best chance for long-term success. Besides, FSN has nothing to lose. Its not like they get great ad revenue from their current programming in that slot (BDSS). Take a chance, if it fails after a year, scrap it. You are just back where you were before, out very little money. -
Ratings for the two BDSSP shows and VR
geniusMoment replied to Hunter's Torn Quad's topic in TNA Wrestling
Mike I usually agree with your negative sentiments toward TNA, but in this case I disagree. I think despite UFC, and boxing, getting better short term ratings, TNA has a better shot at doing better long-term numbers, as wrestling is a bigger draw than UFC. With boxing, the best fights go to ppv, therefore what you see is basically the highest rating you will get. -
Don't hate Joy, she has the magic ass.
-
Buy her a new car, not on the cheap either. Get your ass in gear, get out to a high quality dealership and buy the stupid bitch a car.
-
Damn, why do the good people always have to go? The only thing better than his music was the type of person he was.

If the big feud over the summer is HHH/Batista I will shoot myself. Hopefully by then TNA will have a prime time show and I will never have to watch WWE again for my wrestling fix.
-
I am going to feel like a fucking faggot if I bring an action figure up there, I thought those things were gay when I was 8. You get enough weird looks when buying a wrestling dvd, if I saw someone my age (21) buying an action figure I would consider him the biggest geek in the world.

Kurt Angle vs. Daniel Puder: The Whole Story
geniusMoment replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
In order to prolong a feud you need two guys who can cut both money and entertaining promos, making the fans want to see the match for action and watch the next show for fun. Angle at his peak could cut silly promos, but he has always had a hard time cutting Bret Hart style money promos. Puder could be great at talking, but I seriously doubt he could handle a long feud this early in his career. They put the diva search women in a match, and it sucked. If they did the same for Puder it would kill him worse then Mae Young. -
Kurt Angle vs. Daniel Puder: The Whole Story
geniusMoment replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
But no one would get excited about this either. Do you realize Puder cannot work a match and in Angles condition he cannot shoot fight. There would be no payoff, or the payoff would suck, leaving fans frustrated. Is the concept that hard to grasp? I know, lets wait 2 years, then Puder will have had enough training to actually put on a watchable match and this angle will take off. -
Kurt Angle vs. Daniel Puder: The Whole Story
geniusMoment replied to Enigma's topic in The WWE Folder
The problem is no one cares. All of the sheet writers act like this was the perfect angle, it was not. Puder probably cannot wrestle a suitable match or carry his end of a money promo. Angle is basically done as a great wrestler. There is not the backstory and the red hot Austin to make this a Survivor Series 97 type of thing. There is no Vince McMahon finally turning heel after 25 years as a shock. Even if he had made angle give up most people would have thought it was fake anyway. -
For the first time in almost 4 years
geniusMoment replied to Frankie Williams's topic in The WWE Folder
I flipped around to see the difference between the shows, I enjoyed TNA more. The Pipers Pit segment got a chuckle out of me, and I enjoyed Styles/Abyss more than anything on Smackdown. -
I do not know if this is a good idea or not. But since a lot of people do not like reading through 50 pages of a thread about a topic where it is likely to go off in weird tangents is it possible to make a thread for minor free agent transactions, and then the major moves will get their own thread each.

TNA all the way, fuck WWE. -
That is a seriously horrible list, talk about total shit.

Damn, I was hoping to see Luger and Savage work a match together.
