They changed NBA Fastbreak to NBA Nation

Those shows lack the something special that Baseball Tonight has, perhaps the horrible hairpiece of Karl Ravech.
  2. It would be kind of funny to ban Crono from the WWE folder every Monday from 9-11, depending on ones enjoyment in the misfortune of others.

    Most boring matches ever?

I would say Race-Flair from the Flair dvd but it is so boring I have not been able to get all the way through it yet. Then again, I do not really like anything older than Mania 3.

Roger Clemens wins 7th Cy Young award

I say fuck that old man, I do not know why but I really hate that ass. I hope he retires and I never hear about him again. Seeing him get killed at the all star game was a highlight for me this year.

Former WWE Diva backstage at RAW

No, sable actually is 36 or 37, I forget which. It came out in her lawsuit against the WWF.

    Good read by Mike Johnson

Chris Rose is just jealous because he could not become Piper's new "personal assistant".

Former WWE Diva backstage at RAW

Keller just said in his audio update that she was only there to say hi to friends, and was not looking for work. Apparantly the street corner suits her just fine. ---------I added the last sentence from my sources.

Bret Hart - Wrestling With Shadows

I have it taped off of A&E, is there anything new on the VHS compared to what was shown on television?

    OAO Victory Road Thread

I really enjoyed the show tonight. It was the first time I have enjoyed TNA in probably a year, but I will watch the next ppv, and give their show another try. If they continue to use jobber matches I will stop again. Actually, this is the first wrestling event period I have enjoyed in a year, sans old tapes.

Damn, this board is very conservative, it is like I stumbled into a young republicans meeting on campus.

    Evaluating Free Agent Starters

I would take Milton, Wilson, Benson and Morris over Ron Villone, but other than that I agree with the list.

    D'backs fire Wally Backman

I do not feel sorry for Backman at all. It appears a scumbag beat his wife, lost millions from his playing career making him bankrupt, was a drunken driver and needed a restraining order to be put on him. Also, it is being reported he might have violated his five year probabtion 3 years ago, and could possibly spend a year behind bars. The D'backs are stupid, but I have no sympathy for that piece of shit.

Carlos Beltran has gone off the deep end...

Steve Stone said the cubs should "break the bank" if they have to in order to get Beltran, and I always listen to Steve. So, if it is 10 years then so be it.

Kurt Angle was beaten by a TE kid.

I dare say he caught angle off guard, Angle probably felt the kid would not fight back, or just under estimated his skills. I say angle would win now.

Since the WWE is on a firing spree...

American Dragon vs Shawn michaels has the Student/storyline considering Shawn trained both Bryan and spanky. I can see your logic with bryan going to benoit for advice and such, eventually turning on him. Dragon is more Benoit-like then Michaels like and in any good teacher/student storyline it's in the style and emulation, not who actually trains him that works out better. And while he'll never surpass his legacy, Dragon long surpassed Michaels in ability long ago. Perhaps in just one aspect. However, charisma, mic skills, the ability to connect with fans, a certain look and the ability to portray subtle mannerisms all go into being a great wrestler, being great in the ring is not enough to be considered a great wrestler in my opinion, a great worker, not a great pro wrestler.

Dave Meltzer comments on WWE's problems

Personally, the last time I really enjoyed WWF/E was the raw before Mania 15. I had loved the product from October of 96 until then, so its not like I am someone who hates the WWF/E no matter what. Mania 15 was a bad show, I never thought it would, for all intents and purposes, signal the end of enjoying the WWF/E for me. Since that time we had the stupid rehashed Corporate Ministry, the boring Austin-Vince story and the elevation of HHH. I really hated the product during the summer and fall of 99, Russo was losing his touch. In fact, the only moment that stands out as a great "wrestling moment" during the summer of 99 was the debut of Jericho, of course he was immediatly shuffled down into the mid-card. Russo leaving was a shock, however that shock did not translate into excitement, instead we got the boring return of a hobbled mankind and the horrible British Bulldog featured prominently on exceedingly dull shows. I actually liked the Russo led WCW approach in the late fall of 99 better than the crap like Bossman-Show, Show as champ or Test fighting DX, those things were beyond horrible. When Foley turned I thought it was extremely well done, and had high hopes the product was getting out of its funk, the radicals, taz and Angle also showed promise. The problem is, while Foley and HHH delivered everyone else on the roster stayed put. Sure 2000 brought about good matches, but the product was so stagnant that I quit watching the WWF altogether for some of it. What exciting angles did the WWF produce during this period? People were matched off like Angle-Taker for throwing milk on a bike and Jericho-HHH for no real reason. Then there was the never ending, no payoff, love triangle. Talk about crap, at least I had ECW then. The ratings may have been high, but that was due to momentum, history shows it takes a good year of dissatisfied fans before the ratings are significantly effected, which is why it took so long for raw to overtake nitro. Austin's return was a mess, they basically ruined it with that stupid angle culminating in that dumbass forklift car crash. Austin was then led to face Rock at Mania, the match drew because of past history, but the angle leading up to the match, which corner debra would be in sucked. Almost immediatly following mania the ratings began to fall, signalling the fans had been dissatisfied for some time, a ratings drop like that is not the result of one or two bad months. Then we had the mess that was the invasion. Talk about crap. Somehow the WWF mangaed to screw up the single greatest opportunity ever, or was it? WCW was basically a dead brand when they bought it. In order for the angle to work WWF would have needed to have kept WCW seperate for months as a shane led show, not ever mentioned again after that final nitro. They should have used that timeslot to build WCW back into a powerhouse, then if they wanted to do the invasion do it. Anyway, there were way too many guys on the show, no one had any time to develop a character in depth, and the product was an abomination. Since the invasion in has been the same crap, with basically the same names on top. It has taken 5 years but I no longer watch WWE, and probably will never again as I do not see any changes ever occuring no matter what. Its sad, its just too damn bad that the monday night wars are over. I just wonder what would have happened if Kellner had let WCW stay on Turner, as Bischoff would have been owner.

WWE Release Gail Kim, Nidia, and Chuck Palumbo

Finally the wwe is doing something right. Here is the rundown: A-Train--Never connected with fans, even though he was a decent big man worker. Had many chances, but was missing charisma and promo ability. Test--A classic muscle head, early on thought to be another Kevin Nash. He picked up the Nash workrate, but did not have the mic skills, charisma or quick wit that made Nash seem cool. Billy Gunn--Another wrestler pushed for his look, but did not have the charisma or mic skills that his partner, Road Dogg had. It is obvious Roadie carried the team, and despite that Gunn was given the mega-push, including a King of the Ring win and a Summerslam match against the Rock. Despite being athletically gifted he never figured out how to work a great wrestling match. Gail Kim--Pushed as the female Rey Mysterio Jr., turned out to be a horrid wrestler who blew all the highspots they signed her for, they did not trust her with anyone due to health reasons and made her a "submission" specialist. She added nothing in terms of personality, and never drew a dime. What they brought her in for she lacked, and now she is gone. Nidia--Won tough enough and was therefore guaranteed a spot for a period of time. Never was an adequate worker, even for a woman, and was not pretty enough, at least in the eyes of WWE as I am not trying to insult someones taste, therefore she had no role. Chuck Palumbo--Classic Natural Born Thrillers big man with no personality or anything that seperated him from an average joe. Not good on the mic or in the ring. All of the above are not going to be missed at all. Good job WWE, continue getting rid of the trash and I will watch again.

    And So it Begins

If Atlanta wants to move Furcal I would love for Cincy to try to get him. We need a good leadoff hitter and a shortstop. However, Uncle Carl would not even be willing to pay for his plane flight to Cincy, much less his contract.

    Evaluating Free Agent Catchers

Just so you know, there is a good chance the reds will non-tender Jason LaRue, as he will get a raise above his 2 million salary, and they are not sure he is worth much more. I am not sure where you will put him.

    And So it Begins

The reds and Paul Wilson almost have an agreement. On the market it is reported he could get 2 years at 5 million a year. He said he will sign with cincy for 2 years at 4 million a year, the reds are offering a 2 year deal with 7 million, no raise from what he earned last season. The reds are very very cheap.
