    This Week in Baseball

Is tomorrows Phils/Reds game a day game? I do not see it on the original schedule because it is a make up game.

Didn't Philly cheer when Michael Irvin was almost crippled during a football game, or was that some place else? Maybe their football fans are more rowdy then their baseball fans. The thing I am worried about is the game will be a blowout as the Reds have Bong pitching and then their bullpen. So Philly will probably be up by around 10. This worries me because they are more likely to pitch right at Griffey.

    This Week in Baseball

I just got back from Cleveland. I am just about ready to give up on the Reds season and root for the Cubs. One more thing, I do not want to offend any Philly people here but I really hope Jr. does not hit his 500th in front of those scumbag Philly fans. If he does they will probably boo him. I would rather the reds lose, which they probably will, and Jr. get it at Cincy, then for the reds to win and for him to hit it in front of those fans.

    This Week in Baseball

I was not really thinking of one. One situation where I may bunt is if I have the leadoff man on second in the bottom of the 9th, tied or down by one. I have Ryan Freel at bat, or any great bunter, and a great handler of the bat on deck. If I have faith that the guy behind Freel can get solid wood on the ball it would be a consideration, especially since Freel is so fast there is a chance he could beat out the bunt or the pitcher could hurry and throw it down the line. The only problem is the pitcher could then walk the great handler of the bat and be a ground ball double play away from ending the inning, in which case you just gave away an out. I guess it depends on how much faith you have in the part of your lineup coming up. For the Reds it would be (when healthy) Freel, Larkin, Casey and then Jr. I would not mind Casey coming up 1st and 3rd with one out even though he is a possible double play candidate. But I could also see why you would not want Casey in that situation, its a puzzling question for me.

I saw Tyson Tomko at a bar.

Did he drink a Zima, if so how many?

In general I do not agree with the sacrifice bunt. But Al do you think there are any circumstances when bunting is useful, sans the pitcher. I feel with the right hitters up the bunt can still be useful, especially when you only need one run to win the game.

I would look at many things such as if the pitcher is a strike out pitcher or not and whether the next guy up is a good handler of the bat. I would look at whether or not they would walk that guy to put runners on first and third, that would depend on who is up next.

    Cin. Bearcats coach Bob Huggins

He just got pulled over. He was moving in and out of lanes until he stopped at a stop light. Once the light turned green he did not move for 10 seconds, the cop then pulled him over. Huggins said "do not do this to me" before the cop made him get out of the car. There was vomit all over the interior of the car. The cop asked Huggins where he had been, Huggins said talking with recruits. The cop asked if Huggins was drinking, Huggins said yes he had a couple of beers with the recruits family. Apparantly it was no little DUI either, he was totally bombed.

I just got back from the UC athletic center. The rumor going around campus is Bob Goin is going to ask for Bob Huggins resignation effective Tuesday.

    "It's a Black man's game"

Ripper, I was simply giving an example of what I had heard from people. I do not feel the majority feel that way, at least I hope not.

    "It's a Black man's game"

You guys fell right into my trap. There is a little known secrect hidden in a treasure chest on a far away island stating, "Getting served twice on the same page of the same thread thereby negates getting served at all." There also is then the little known amendment to that secret in aisle 7 of the US congress stating, "Not only does getting served twice on the same page of the same thread negate any potential for getting served, it also extinguishes the possibility of being owned." Hey, sorry I do not make the rules I just enforce them.

    Rafiki: "The King...has returned"

That does not look like a parade that was thrown by you. It appears you just posted a picture of a parade from many years ago that has nothing to do with you.

I saw Tyson Tomko at a bar.

So an internet message boarder, Tyson Tomko and Kenny Lofton walk into a bar..... I am sure you have all heard that one a million times before so I will not bother with the punch line.

    "It's a Black man's game"

Czech there are only two things in this world I cannot take: 1.) Getting owned 2.) Getting served I will argue number 1 until my death, you do not want to know what happens if someone tells me the second thing.

    "It's a Black man's game"

Dr. Tom all I ask is that you give me specific examples of arguments in which I was owned. Is it the Rasheed Wallace argument? If you list any one thing that he has done (such as getting caught with weed) you might be able to write it off as a simple mistake. But you must admit he has shown a pattern of bad behavior. Perhaps thug by its basic literal definition is the wrong word to use, maybe someone of low moral fiber is a better term. In saying thug I do not mean people out on the street corner threatening to beat people up. I never said people with cornrows or people who dress differently are thug or bad people, other posters tried to put those words in my mouth. One of my best friends from high school who used to live behind me had cornrows, I used to go over to his house almost every night to play baseball, and I do not consider him a thug or someone with bad morals. I was told that a bunch of people on this board smoke weed, well that is something I do not agree with. I am sorry but if I am at a party where everyone is smoking weed I will leave, those are my morals. To me that is morally wrong, maybe its not to others, I am just telling people my opinion. I was then told that what makes Griffey black was the fact that he was black, like I was saying something different, when the entire point of my first post was that he was black not because he fitted in with some stereotypes but because he was born an african american. If you feel I lost those arguments I respect that, I just do not understand how you can totally disrespect everything I said.

    I'm out

You should at least drop by the baseball thread if the Marlins win the World Series.

    My new hair cut...

Just shave your head, grow out your facial hair and work out a ton. Drive around campus on a 4 wheeler while wearing a sheriffs badge. If anyone gives you any gruff, tell them you are the law and proceed to stun them, even women.

Its nice to see someone else get rocked around, once again the Reds are back in first place. Thank you cubbies.

I admit it looks bad, but its only one series. Hopefully this is not the begining of the end, maybe it is, or maybe it was just a bad series.

    Danny Graves

I do not ever want to hear the name Danny Graves again. The thing is Danny should easily have 3-5 more blown saves. Guys have hit the ball hard right at people and his defense behind him has saved him.

Dr. Tom show me where I got owned. Because without facts to back up your argument you just come off as a bitch.

Are we done then? This was the best discussion I have been involved with on this board in quite some time. I am willing to admit you made me think and made some good points.

    "It's a Black man's game"

MJ has also admitted to having affairs with women, something I am against. Kobe well it should be obvious he at the very least had an affair with someone he just met I do not know more than that. By the way the word thug I am using only as a buzz word for bad morals, so not everyone I have listed would be considered an actual thug if you take me literally.
