This show was better than the others, but it still wasn't good. I'm certain that this is the best they have to offer though. The main event was entertaining and a bleeding Flair standing over a bleeding Big Show with a barbwire baseball bat while the crowd chanted "ECW" was one of the most bizzare images I've seen in a while. The rest was blah, with Heyman's promo being incredibly stupid. I was almost excited to see Dreamer wrestle in a competitive ECW match but then I remembered that his opponent was Test. I don't care about Knox and don't want to see him in any segment and Justin Credible is awful. The promos were good but it's hard to care when ECW's "New Talents" consist of CM Punk, the Vampire, and the tarot card lady.

i found this amusing and i dont know why

I can't wait for ECW though. Ric Flair vs Big Show for the ECW Title. Flair can bleed, do four moves and be screwed by a Heyman/Foley run in. And before that we get Sandman canning another jobber, a lame dancing contest between fake lesbians, and a squash match featuring a roided-up no talent guy that couldn't get over with Jesus Christ as his manager. What's supposed to make me tune in????

I was pure WWF from 93-95, then watched ECW and WWF until ECW died, then pure WWF. I have watched a lot of old WCW tapes, including Robocop and Chucky, but I can't accuretly state whether that was worse or not because I was prepared for it while watching it. Today's WWF just defines apathy really; nothing horrible nor great. I tried watching Smackdown a few weeks ago and it was awful. No big names, no good matches, fake crowd noise; just awful.

These last few months have seriously been the worst wrestling shows I've ever seen.

MMA Comments that Don't Warrant a Thread
Angle-plex replied to RavishingRickRudo's topic in Mixed Martial Arts
So Fujita, Silva and Baroni are fighting on the UFC card in November. Looks like a PRIDE vs UFC card is in the works. -
I just don't get how someone could want to fuck a dog. Rape I can understand. Luckily dogs don't wipe so maybe this guy got dog shit over his dick as punishment. Seriously dogs can be pretty fucking gross sometimes.

While I don't *really* believe this was a work (or 100% work, anyways) if Tito lost it would make him look like a joke for his other big money matches with Liddell, Silva (if he really ends up coming to UFC...I'm not so sure. Saku anyone?). If this was worked then I am impressed with how they went about it because a third match could still draw due to the "controversy" while Tito comes out looking great.
-
I also think Shamrock/Ortiz was a work. If Ortiz lost it would fuck UFC up and if Shammy lost "cleanly" a third match would be worthless. This way they get the option of a third match and Ortiz stays strong. All about the money. I do want to see Tim "The Slug" Sylvia take on Pride's best heavyweights though. Both guys in the title match were exposed tonight. What a disgrace.

Silva will win. He hung with Cro Cop, who is a bigger, stronger, and more accurate striker than Chuck is. Chuck has never fought anyone as crazy good as Silva.

God what an awful show. I missed the first half hour because of work but the rest was the worst UFC show I've ever seen, and the main event made the UFC Heavyweight Title look like it wasn't important enough to fight over.

It was ok, dragged in parts and felt like half a movie at the end. Not nearly as good as the first.

Shawn Michaels is the greatest wrestler in WWE History...
Angle-plex replied to a topic in The WWE Folder
HBK is one of my favorites, but there are plenty of "better" wrestlers out there. Austin for one, who played heel and face better than Michaels and had many good matches. I'm not even going to bring Japanese wrestlers into this because it wouldn't even be a contest but Michaels isn't the greatest all around (to me, at least, I realize this is subjective). -
I see people posting about how smarks like this, but the fans like something else. What seperates the two? Maybe 5% of the fanbase thinks wrestling is actually real. The rest knows it's fake and likes certain wrestlers for certain things. How is this different from smarks? How are smarks different from ordinary fans? The actually is a somewhat serious question.

Given WWE's track record, I"m not expecting RVD to make a huge "hero" comeback on Big Show and Heyman when he gets back. Show will probably be to busy with Test anyways.

Replace Credible with RVD and make it for the ECW belt and that would have been a better show than what we got. -

Like who? Are we really expected to sit through Big Show vs Dreamer/Test/Knox matches for months? Stupid thing to post on a wrestling message board. And Vince won't change his thinking no matter how loud the ECW fanbase screams. His track record of making anything even remotely good has been horrible since 2001 and ECW won't be any different. -

Just saw Mitchel for the first time and it was hilarious, but this dialog has to be the some of the WORST I've ever heard: -

I honestly believe Vince is doing this on spite. Some sort of way to stick it to Paul Heyman and the fans of the old ECW... Oh the McMahons are no doubt "settling" old business with Heyman, hence why it looks like Velocity. -

Even though it sucked ass, you have to respect Vince's decision to put the ECW belt on a guy that only worked for the two promotions ECW use to insult in front of a Philly crowd. The guy doesn't give a fuck and I admire it. -

Wait.....they're doing an angle where the owner of the company is going to be a BAD guy? -
But you thought Batman Begins was better, even though they totally betrayed Batman's character by Batman not helping R'as off the train? R'as would have been too dangerous to leave alive anyway. So? The one thing intrinsically ingrained into the Batman character over 70 years of comics (after they established the character after a few changes in the first year) is that he never ever ever kills anyone. No one is beyond saving, no one deserves to die. They've beat that point into the ground so many times in the comics over the years. So yeah, him letting Ras die was a fundemental 'betrayal' of the character. Personally, I don't care if the movies follow the comic characterizations and stories exactly. I thought Ras death was a good scene and fit very well with the character and tone in the movie. And Batman Begins is my favorite superhero movie. But yeah, it was a betrayal of the comic version. I think it was in "Knightfall" when Batman put it best by saying he "won't kill anyone through action nor INACTION". I honestly wouldn't have a problem with Batman letting R'as die if it wasn't for the "I won't kill you, but i don't have to save you" line. It just made the guy seem like he was NOT Batman at all. That scene, to me, could ruin potential movies in the future as well. If Batman vs Joker ends the same as Batman 1 then I guess Batty will just let Joker fall to his death without giving it a second thought.
