I'm buying a DS.

Sonic Spinball was pretty terrible. Super Mario 64 converted me from a lifetime-Sega fan (which wasn't that long, really, I was only 11) into a fully fledged Nintendo supporter. *Nothing* beats Mario 64. In video games, it is the end all and be all. Mario wins.

This thread is shameful.

This is the end all-be all finale, right?

Man, what a crock. I wouldn't pay $50 for *any* PPV, that is just absolutely RIDICULOUS. Here in Australia, it costs $21.90 to see Wrestlemania 21 on Pay-Per-View, or roughly $17 US.

You're all such fucking dumbshits. I'm in the red

Wait up, Nintendo is going with TWO handhelds now? The DS and a 'new Game Boy'? I thought the DS was the successor to the GBA?
-
So no last-minute-thrown-together matches announced for WM?

Konami made a game like that for PS2, and by all accounts it sucks. Iwata has also said that he doesn't want to do something that the competition is already looking into utilising. Hence the name of Nintendo's upcoming machine. UYI

Could Christian Ever Be Believable Main Eventer?

Christian Cage sounds like a D-grade movie actor. -
I used to respect you

Just so everyone knows, Laz is forty-eight years old.

Despite all this crazy new technology, The Revolution will be backwards compatible with all Gamecube software, so says Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo.

*Very* good point. I have serious anger management problems with certain games, and have been known once or twice to just send the controller flying. I shudder to think how fragile these touchscreens could be or how much cost will be involved in replacing them.

Thanks for the article, DH. After reading through that, I'd have to say that if I suddenly woke up tomorrow morning craving a portable game system, I'd have to side with Nintendo and their DS. It just seems to have the edge to me in terms of system longevity

All that symbolism is just adding weight to my belief that the Bible is mostly a work of fiction. Not really symbolism. It shouldn't make you think that, really, I don't think you quite understood. To understand that isn't going to make you happy with God, it makes him look bad. When you understand that God is love, and stop thinking about them as two seperate things, at most wrapped up in each other, that's why an almighty God allows bad things to happen. That's why the world is screwed up. He needs (and I mean needs quite literally here... it would be a craving akin to breathing) us to love him. Why is it that a blood sacrifice is required for sin? Why is it that the death of Jesus is the only thing that can save us? Who set up those rules? God did. He did because he has to sacrifice himself... that's what love is (now a lot of people say here it isn't love because he fucked us over first and made us need him to do it... remember, there is no love which is not God. Love as a freely sentient entity has to do those things, because that's the only way to get us in a position where we need it). When people understand this, they can say "Well, I wouldn't have anything to do with a god like that." or they accept it. A God who is love needs both responses. That was brilliant, I may bring this point up in class next week. I'll be sure to quote my source as a guy named 'St.IDrinkRatsMilk' for added impact.

I don't know how sales of the DS are over in the states, but Nintendo has sold megalaods of them here Australia. That system, as well as Super Mario 64, has been top sellers here for weeks. I was almost tempted to look into getting a PSP for the Metal Gear title, but I don't think one game justifies the money that has to be spent in obtaining a PSP. I'm not big on handhelds, so I'll likely pass.

That sound you hear is the PS2 screeching

It's a shame that most of his big commercial claims to fame are covers (eg. 'Sweet Dreams' and 'Tainted Love'). His lesser known work is exceptionally under-rated.

Eh, Axl's written better songs than November Rain

There are swarms of nerds in my local EB as well, I usually only ever go in there once every month or so to see what new shit they have, but there is no way I'm going anywhere near it for the time being. They be scary, scary folk.

Booker has wanted to 'retire' since 2000, this is hardly anything new. Booker is all for it until the company shows him they're willing to throw more money at him, and all the power to him for staying on. SD! needs all the star power it can get.

God of War: Anyone here picked it up yet?
Use Your Illusion replied to Downhome's topic in Video Games
It's only just been released, give everyone else a chance to review it and the score will bottom out a little. Not take away how good or bad this game may or may not be, but that score is based on a bare minimum of reviews thus far. It's not even ON any release date lists here in Australia, so God knows when we'll end up getting it. Seems all the good ones have Snake Eater syndrome, arriving in Oz six months later than everywhere else. UYI -
I doubt it'll touch Metal Gear Solid 3, but I'll definitely give Sam Fisher a rental to see if he can surprise me some.
