Yeah, that's always been one of my favourite Sting moments. Watching it 12 years ago, I had no idea that was really Sting disguised as the mannequin. I never saw it coming. When Hogan took off the Sting mask and Sting came to life, I marked out.

According to Foley Is Good, the last WWF show Vince Russo wrote for was really terrible. Apparently in one segment, Mankind was going to ask Rock to marry him.

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread
Ed Wood Caulfield replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Forgot to mention, the other stereotype is that only scumbags and lowlives watch professional wrestling. For example, in 2 different movies (Lawnmower Man and Natural Born Killers), the scumbag characters are watching the WWF on their TVs (and both get killed while they're watching it). I've just never gotten how professional wrestling is somehow lower on the totem pole of entertainment than reality TV. Like apparently, watching Rock of Love is not as bad as watching a professional wrestling match. Apparently watching professional wrestling makes me the scum of the earth, but if I were to watch Living With The Kardashians, that would be okay. The venom and hatred some people have for wrestling surprises me. -
That's the only reason I can think of too. It's just an excuse to show off their latest merchandise. Still, it's always looked odd to me. Weird how that looks odd to me, but seeing these guys wrestle oiled up without their shirts on wearing speedos doesn't.

Oh how I hope they don't make HBK/Undertaker a Triple Threat Match with Kozlov.

The 25th Anniversary of WrestleMania Thread
Ed Wood Caulfield replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
Yup... here's the link: http://www.prowrestling.net/artman/publish...le1004704.shtml I've been reading people's comments about WrestleMania coming to Phoenix at an Arizona-themed blog. Not surprisingly, the majority of the comments are people bitching about this announcement. Which leads me to ask the question: When did the "Only rednecks watch professional wrestling" stereotype start? Maybe I'm just ignorant about pro wrestling history, but rednecks and wrestling have just never gone hand in hand with me. Kids? Yeah. Idiots. Sure. I get those stereotypes. But I've always wondered how watching professional wrestling became something only rednecks are supposed to watch. Is it because wrestling is as arty as a Larry The Cable Guy show? -
Not sure if it really belongs here, but I've always thought it was weird how some wrestlers who wear the short speedo tights will wear only a T-shirt in backstage segments. It always looks like they forgot their pants. Ric Flair, Triple H and Randy Orton are the ones who do/did it the most. It's like, if you're just going to wear a shirt, why bother putting something on top at all? I don't get why they just don't do what The Rock used to do and wear a T-shirt *and* sweatpants. Are they lazy or something?

They still haven't updated the WrestleMania history website, so there's still plenty of pictures of Chris Benoit on the site. It's pretty lazy of them, really. They just add the original version into the archives. The WrestleMania 21 section is just the original version that was on the WWE.com frontpage in 2005. The WrestleMania 22 section is just the original version that was on the WWE.com frontpage in 2006, etc. -
I went with my mother and her boyfriend to this show, just before New Year's Eve in 1998. We were in the cheap seats, but I had a blast. I still got my ticket stub. I also brought a foam WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt with nWo "spray-painted" onto it at this show (I didn't really want it, but it was the only belt they had left, and I REALLY wanted a foam belt!). I remember Scott Steiner ripping on New York, my mother's boyfriend calling Eddie Guerrero and Chris Jericho very attractive in a way that I can't explain because they hugged in the entrance way, and my mother's boyfriend knowing the exact moment Scott Hall would get back up after his match with Ric Flair (right when Ric Flair's music ended). Oh, and Bret Hart came out during The Giant/Diamond Dallas Page match and insulted DDP. He also said "piece of shit." That's all I remember. WCW @ Long Island, NY - Nassau Coliseum - December 29, 1998 Perry Saturn defeated Fit Finlay Konnan defeated Horace Hogan Chris Benoit & Dean Malenko defeated Chris Jericho & Eddie Guerrero Booker T defeated Brian Adams Lex Luger defeated Scott Steiner via disqualification Ric Flair defeated Scott Hall Diamond Dallas Page defeated the Giant WCW World Champion Kevin Nash defeated Bam Bam Bigelow and Bill Goldberg

The WWE says he'll actually be at the show, but in what capacity they don't say. -
I just had "CENA IS very attractive in a way that I can't explain.." flash across the stream that I am watching.
-
I'm thinking Edge retains, and the reason that the RAW Elimination Chamber Match is last is because Cena will retain to send the fans home happy.

WWE General Discussion - February 2009
Ed Wood Caulfield replied to DrVenkman PhD's topic in The WWE Folder
There was a RAW prior to Backlash in 2005 where Triple H took on JR in a match. He beat the hell out of JR while Lawler kept going, "Stop it, Triple H. Come on. This isn't right." Finally he said, "He's gone too far!" And then entered the ring to attack Triple H, only to get beatdown in return. But then Batista came out and gave Triple H the Batista Bomb, and then put JR on top of Triple H so that JR got the pinfall over Triple H. -

Lawler always rooted for Triple H and Evolution until Triple H beat the hell out of JR in 2005 prior to Backlash I believe. -

Well, after a little over a year, I no longer control the OAOAST World Heavyweight Champion. This should mean that you should get OAOAST World Heavyweight Championship Matches on time from now on! lol Anyway, congrats to Leon Rodez! I am surprised that it took him this long to finally win the OAOAST World Heavyweight Championship. Since it is tradition for the (guy who controlled the) former OAOAST World Heavyweight Champion to start the thread for the (guy who controls the) new OAOAST World Heavyweight Champion, I figured that I had to keep the tradition going. Now I fully expect this thread to collect e-dust for however long Leon's World Title reign lasts. These threads don't pack the same punch that they used to, do they? Oh well. Mazel Tov to King Cucaracha! May he continue writing kickass matches during Leon Rodez's OAOAST World Heavyweight Championship reign! ARRIBA~!

Caged Heat! Loca and Delta Lottapain! I always thought that they were going for a Dudley Boyz vibe with those two. Didn't they have the 3D as their finisher too? -
Yep. He designed the shirt last year, and I was just waiting for the right time to debut it. He definitely did an awesome job on it! It's even better than I imagined it would be!
