I think my favorite thing about the game might be ESPN's listing of the leaders of each category for both teams and for the Lakers it says Blocks: Luke Walton - 0

I'll agree that the pitcher at the plate is rarely a source of excitement, but you seem to ignore the actual strategy that is involved. It has nothing to do with what happens when the pticher's in the batter's box, but rather in deciding when or when not to send him there. If a guy's struggling on the mound does a manager choose to leave him in with 2 outs because his spot's due up next inning or blow a guy out of the pen for one out? If a pitcher's doing well, but it's late in a tight game and a good scoring opportunity does he go pinch hitter to try to score or does he believe the pitcher can hang on? In the AL everything is based on the pitcher's performance on the mound and your offense doesn't have to be factored in. Look at some of Roy Hallady's complete games this year, probably none of those happen in the NL. I don't think you'll find anyone who argues that the parts you mention have some great strategy involved.

I didn't realize you could do the knife thing. First try I just shot the guy in the face and jumped out the window and there were a couple cars right there. I managed to evade the cops pretty easily.

Apparently no one ever told Greg Smith that as a left handed pitcher he might want to occasionally look over his shoulder to check on the runner at third base. Omar Vizquel almost could've walked home without a pitch being thrown.

Oh how I hope Randy Johnson pitches in the Pirates-Diamondbacks series in August with Doug Mientkiewicz in the lineup. They're both fairly useless at this point, but it should set the stage for another comedy moment:

If the Penguins score I have a feeling Jarkko Ruutu's involved. He seems to be very involved since the OT started even though he's only logged about 10 minutes of the first 100 played. He also tends to score in good spots. On the Red Wings side I look out for Helm again.

Unbelievable. The series really needed that. Even if Detroit pulls it out in this overtime at least there was some excitement for a few minutes there.

Stone Cold was on with Vinnie Jones to promote the Condemned. They were both pretty funny and seemed to enjoy Tom's humor and the randomness of the show. I remember a caller asked him if he thought it was worth the $6 million dollars the government spent to rebuild him and he later managed to connect with a trucker via Tom's CB Radio.

Although I still don't see it going that way, if the Penguins pull out the series Brooks Orpik lives on forever. That 4 hits/3 knockdowns in about 20 seconds is something people talk about forever when looking back at the series. I'm about 100% sure he leaves as a free agent after this year, but I'm pretty sure he officially won over Pittsburgh last night.

I was enjoying his show a while back, but he got way off track and kind of lost me. He started out with usually just one guest sitting in for an hour uncensored with a bunch of prank calls getting through and managed to be fairly entertaining with it. A little while back he switched to doing a show for Canadian TV where he'd have multiple guests, commercial breaks, and screened callers while also trying to add in pretaped and planned bits more like a tradition talk show and it really wasn't working. Then he just disappeared for about 2 months. I heard he's back to doing shows, but I haven't checked it out since. Hopefully it's closer to the original format now.

There was a Crosby-Malkin line early in the season, but I don't think it's been used since Crosby first went down with the injury and definitely not since Hossa's been around.

Josh Hamilton homered in the first inning to pick up his 50th RBI in game 46. Not that it really means anything yet, but that projects to 176 over a full season.

So where does that Letang "clipping" penalty rank among the ridiculous calls this post-season? I might put it at the top. I almost thought it was a made up call because it's used so infrequently, and it definitely isn't intended to be used for a slightly awkward hip check. -

Wasn't NBC supposed to be doing an American version of Top Gear this year? I definitely heard a lot about the idea and I think I remember hearing they signed Adam Carolla and filmed an episode. Guess they gave up at some point. -

So what's the deal with this one? I'm always on board for a Mike Judge product, but I hadn't even heard about this. -
So Sal Paolanonio reported that after questioning another one of the guys from the meeting (I'm forgetting which one he said) he found out that Walsh said during the meeting that although he didn't videotape the Rams walkthrough he fed information to a Patriots assistant coach about some of the stuff he saw during the walkthrough. The things he specifically mentioned were Marshall Faulk lining up in the kick return and some kind of motion from the tight ends based on certain defenses. I guess Goodell didn't think that was at all important.

I'm glad the CW decided to bring back Reaper. A couple weeks ago it looked like it was for sure going to be cancelled. I'm also pretty surprised that How I Met Your Mother is still listed as in limbo. I thought it had been doing fairly well recently. I don't watch too many shows these days, and luckily none that I enjoy have officially been cancelled. None of the new shows sound that interesting from what I've seen except hopefully that Office spin-off. -
This isn't even really a complaint because I kind of prefer it the way it is now, but why is it that every time a new GTA is coming out since Vice City there have been reports from Rockstar that the city will now be completely open from the start of the game, but it has yet to actually be true. I think it would actually be a bit too much right from the start, and I'd probably end up lost, but I just don't understand the reasoning behind them promising the same thing every time and never delivering.

The Mets have given up 13 runs, 4 earned. That second inning was ridiculous. Castillo had a shot at turning 2 with 1 out and the bases loaded, but just dropped the ball, leading to 7 runs eventually scoring when they could've escaped with 0.

Word from news reporters trying to check the hospital is that he is still unconcious and on a respirator.

I don't have any idea how to even begin looking for an answer, but I've been wondering how long it has been since someone had 3 CG losses in the same season. Doing it in the same month is beyond ridiculous in today's game.

I didn't really watch the show, but it was on so often it was hard not to catch parts of every now and then. Every time I saw it I had a hard time getting over how much Daisy resembled the female guitar player from the Muppet Show band Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem.

The new album's produced by James Michael who sings in Sixx: AM and has been writing with Nikki for a while now. I thought for sure they'd be using Bob Rock since he did the new tracks on Red White and Crue and obviously isn't busy with Metallica anymore, but they decided to go another direction as well.

Although I live thousands of miles away I've been enjoying Dave Dameshek on LA's ESPN radio station. He was Adam Carolla's sidekick during his radio show in 2006 and the show is only about halfway a sports show, but it's one of the more entertaining shows I've heard coming out of the ESPN radio stations. Mark Madden does a show locally (Pittsburgh) that's sometimes good for a sort of manufactured controversy to stir up his callers and some decent hockey talk. He also gets fairly regular calls from the Disco Inferno under a variety of different aliases.
