Yes, there should probably be an announcment in the next few weeks, maybe when Megadeth get back from their concert in Dubai. No word on any bands, but I think Scott Ian said Anthrax wanted on again, and Dave talked to Overkill and Annihilator about maybe doing it.

Word on the street is the Special Mystery Guest is going to be Avenged Sevenfold, which would make more sense than any of the rumored bands, considering they're given fourth billing. Plus, the band is going to be announced May 23, A7X are on tour until May 20. For whatever reason they don't like to announce a band for the tour who are touring the US prior to it, same thing happened last year with Mudvayne.

The Von Oelhoffen deal was ridiculous. I was thinking either the Steelers bring him back for a low money deal or he retires, but he ended up getting a 3 year deal with a $3 million signing bonus. Steelers sign safety Ryan Clark from Washington, which means Chris Hope will definitely be heading elsewhere.

I like how Weiland knocks Axl for letting other people write his songs, but there are court documents that show that Axl took home 41% of the songwriting money for Appetite in a five member band.

So now the Redskins have picked up Adam Archuleta as well. I don't understand how they're going to remain under the cap after the draft and everything. Anyone else get a strange feeling the Skins are going to try giving Randle El more than his fair share of snaps at QB?

Just to clear some things up on the eye situation, it didn't actually fall off or anything, just came out of the socket. It's nearly impossible for an eye to just fall off without being ripped out or something, since there are nerve connections and many other things holding it in. Coming out of the socket isn't that big a deal, just very painful for a little while. It's probably one of the least severe injuries you can have to the eye in terms of vision loss and what not.

It was approved by a 30-2 vote and none of the teams that everyone thought were going to present a problem voted against the deal this time. It was Cincinatti and Buffalo who voted against it, two of the lower revenue teams, so I wonder what the revenue sharing deal ended up looking like.

I'm sure a lot of the book will be factual, but you have to take into account that a lot of the information is provided by his former mistress, so it's not the most credible source. I doubt there will ever be hard evidence against Barry that can justify keeping him out of the Hall.

This year's stats: 35 catches 558 yards 1 TD He's great as a punt returner and for the occasional trick play, but he's a pretty mediocre #2 receiver. I think he's more suited to be a #3 than anything else. I can see that Super Bowl TD pass getting him way more money than he ever should, but paid like a #1?

I found these pics on another message board, it's hard to debate any of the calls based on these. Jackson's pass interference, watch the position of Chris Hope's feet relative to the E before and after the push Roethlisberger TD, note that the ball is in Ben's right arm Locklear's hold on the Jeremy Stevens catch at the 2, his hand is clearly around Haggans's body, you rarely get away with something like that.

I love how on every site I go to some Seattle fan posts a picture of Ben after he was pushed backwards on the TD run. I'm still not completely sure that he crossed the plane, but this picture is a much more accurate representation of the play to base an argument on

I think if you look at the rule the Hasselbeck block below the waist call is correct. Hasselbeck went low for the tackle which is fine, but he made contact with Deshea Townsend (a potential blocker) below the waist before making contact with Ike Taylor. The penalty is designed to make it so a player on the team that threw an interception can't take blockers out of the play, which Hasselbeck didn't really do, but based on the actual rule I believe the call is correct. I didn't even know the rule existed until I saw it called a few times in the past several weeks of the season.

I'm very interested in seeing what exactly Bettis ends up doing in this Super Bowl. It seems like he's getting a lot more attention than a backup running back should be, but with Parker struggling in all the playoff games, and having a little fumble trouble added to the Bettis story, I have to wonder if they don't try and get Bettis the ball a lot more.

Well it was kind of interesting. Says he talked to Izzy recently which could be good news, at least good to hear that he's letting the past be the past and maybe not holding grudges as much anymore. Almost leaving a door open to a possible reunion some time in the future, but I won't hold my breath. The "people will hear music this year" isn't really all that revealing though, and still leaves the album's release in doubt. Maybe just another song on a movie soundtrack, I think the rumor was maybe DaVinci Code. I guess having a full set of other songs that won't be on the album is good as well, no 15+ year waits next time.

Sean Salisbury freaking out about the Troy Polamalu interception overturn on ESPN was pretty funny. I've never seen a call like that. I was also shocked on that play where Faneca had a false start that the officials didn't notice, then 3 or 4 Colts jumped as a reaction and the referees said there was no penalty. It has to go one way or the other, it can't be neither. So now I see after the game Peyton Manning throws a bunch of blame at his offensive line, and Vanderjagt decided to blame God apparently.

I think it's still in the plans at some point, but I'm not entirely sure. I know that a while back they put up a little animation sample from the people who will be working on it on their website. I don't know if it was ever planned to be Clerks 2, I think all along they've been saying they'll be making one or possibly more straight to video movies out of it.

ESPN Radio Host makes comments on passing
jimmy no nose replied to Paul Stanley's topic in The WWE Folder
On a related note, I have ESPN radio on right now and the host here in Pittsburgh is Mark Madden and he just said something like "How many of my friends have to die before congress stops worrying about the sanctity of Babe Ruth's home run record and start looking at the business where steroids are actually killing people?" -
I used one a few years ago, it worked fine. Only problem was I ended up with ink all over the floor that wouldn't come off. Haven't really tried since.

Could be good, could be really, really bad. Roth tells some interesting stories, but sometimes he goes off on the longest, most unfunny tangents and laughs at his own jokes the whole way along. He said on Stern this morning that his show is going to be more political, so I don't know how interesting it'll be. David Lee Roth's politics have never been a big interest of mine.

I've only played it for about an hour and a half, but I'm a bit let down so far. It really isn't much of an upgrade over THUG2 other than doing away with some of the dumber story stuff (so far at least). I think with the idea it sounded like they wanted to go for they should have skipped this game and really went for it on the next gen consoles. It's still a fun game like all the Tony Hawks are, but it wasn't really a big improvement.

Jack Thompson's idea for a game.
jimmy no nose replied to Open the Muggy Gate's topic in Video Games
Every time I read one of these articles that are against video game violence the author mentions some game where you get to cut off heads and urinate on them. What game is this and why have I been missing out for so long? -
I always thought it was kind of funny how they brought in Butkus because they wanted someone to be the TV personality type head coach and he was just an awful TV personality. He was always either just boring or yelling about nothing. Ray Crockett was alright as far as fake coaches go, but there was no need for Butkus on the show at all.
