The main site is certainly an eyesore and distraction to the boards. It's obvious no one here cares about it or is even aware we had one and it's harmless in that way, but I'm sure there have been many who found the current page and been turned off immediately. I know when I find a site and their homepage is ugly and badly outdated I don't bother with it anymore. I say we should just tear it down completely and link to the forums, but the comprehensive database sounds cool, more useful and potentially more appealing than the site ever was, especially if we do something like combining it with the wiki idea. We at least have some knowledgeable people who had no interest in writing for the site but could easily get involved in something like this. My stance on the MMA folder has lessened. It's still the same MMA folder, so who cares where it goes, the discussion is what's important. Just from an aesthetics standpoint, merge TCS and LSD back into Forums. There was absolutely no reason to muck around with the layout in the first place. As long as the NSFW sub-heading is kept there should be no problems. Or at least put the Socket above LSD.

I collected Marvel stuff way back in the 90s and in some cases attempted to make my own by modifying existing figures so that I could have more obscure characters. Before that it was TMNT. Some figures such as the Marvel Legends and McFarlane lines have caught my eye since but I've never made an attempt to get back into it.

The dub is up to 69 which airs this week. In Japan it's up to 216 with a few more to go before the filler ends in Feb.

TSM Board Name: Geedorah Wrestlers Name: MANSON Nickname(s): Savage Messiah, Raging Bull Height: 6'1 Weight: 229 Hometown: Denver, Colorado Age: 29 Face/Heel: Heel Stable: Slaughterhouse Five w/ Michael Alexander Ring Escort: N/A Quote: N/A Taunt: Devil Horns, Crucifix, Crouch/Kneel w/ Horns Weapon(s): Crooked metal bat, metal mask, chains of various sizes, and others he's used in the past, including brass knuckles and bullropes. Looks: Caucasian. He has dark eyes, long, black hair, and a thick Bruiser Brody-esque beard. He's muscular, although not to excess, while his upper body is adorned with various tattoos. His attire ususally consists of faded, blue jeans, black kneepads on the outside, and black boots underneath, black elbowpads, tape running from around his hands to his forearms, and a sleeveless black t-shirt. In addition, the cloak, mask, etc., is all gone, in favor of his old leather biker jacket. Entrance: The house lights drop, and after a brief pause, a low, guttural growl kicks 'Scientific Remote Viewing' by Cephalic Carnage into gear, as the crowd rises to their feet. As strobes pulse, spotlights roam the arena, while smoke pours out over the stage, and the curtain soon parts. Out comes Manson amidst the chaos, raising his clenched fists high above his head at the top of the ramp, as the jeering fans herald his arrival. He rolls in under the bottom rope on his approach, standing and thrusting his arms out to the side in a crucifix, then after a moment, raising an arm above his head and throwing out the horns while backing into his corner, to more heat from the crowd. He flings his jacket over the post and leans back against the turnbuckle, waiting for the match to begin. Stats: Strength: 5 Speed: 5 Vitality: 6 Charisma: 4 Style: He's a bit more well rounded, although he still relies on strength and strikes, mainly, and while noticably quicker, don't expect him to start flying around. His submissions use is still minimal, very rudimentary, and whatever groundwork he uses mainly consists of dropping someone long enough to beat on them. Just as aggressive, violent and unpredictable as before, but is also a bit more in control, as well as a touch more wily and tricky. Very willing to take it to the next level when need be and he is just as ruthless, still lacking regard for his opponents and, when the time comes, for himself. Likewise, still a filthy bastard, he'll cheat, fight dirty and enjoy it. Signature moves: Gamengiri Koppou Kick Flashing Elbow Burning Sword Brainwash [Facewash] Imperial March [Curbstomp] Uranage Suplex Half and Half Suplex Rocky Mountain High [Rydeen Bomb] Fireman's Carry Double Knee Gutbuster Common Moves: Sleeper Saito Suplex German Suplex Gargoyle Suplex Suicide Dive Slingshot Plancha Cowboy Kicks Mounted Strikes Knee Lift High Knee Roundhouse Kick Punches European Uppercut Headbutt Kesagiri Chops Spinning Backfist Rare Moves: Savage Elbow Gutwrench Piledriver Heaven's Gate [Goku Raku Gatame] Rocky Mountain Murder Bomb [splash Mountain] Finishers: Iron-Cutting Sword [Lariato] Instant Hell Murder [inverted Brainbuster] Rocky Mountain Hydro Grind [spinning Fisherman's Buster] Notes: He's more relaxed and low key, greatly toned down, though he retains most, if not all, of his old traits and is just as eccentric. Continuously in danger of losing himself and giving in to more maniacal tendencies, however. Likewise, the loaded cloak, mask, bat, etc., is no longer worn, but is always kept conveniently close, as a sort of security blanket and for more nefarious purposes when the time comes. Bio: Born in Denver, he trained in Calgary. He made his IGNJL debut on November 2nd, 2001, as Mafia. After stints in Havoc and New Sound in early 2002, in August he changed his name to Manson, but was soon injured in a match with WC and wouldn't return until Spring 2003. He left for Japan shortly after the SWF/SJL consolidation, but would return later in the year. He won the USJL Title from the Masked Man on July 2nd and then engaged in a bitter feud with Max King over the belt, during which King would injure him in Denver and eventually caused him to lose the title to Vladimir Everheart. Prior to Ashes to Ashes he attacked Nathaniel Kibagami, turning heel, although nothing would come from the potential feud as he simply continued to feud with the heel Revolution Zero. On May 28th, 2005, he won the Hardcore Title from Insane Luchador in 'Hate Me Now' but lost it back five days later, meanwhile forming a team with Arch Griffon. His team with Griffon done, he joined JJ Johnson as Blood and Thunder, eventually winning the Tag Titles on March 5th, 2006. Their reign and team were eventually broken up due to Spike Jenkins, though Blood and Thunder would later pair up again on good terms. Some time later he became MANSON and later still, after leaving in September, he returned in January 2007. In May he set his sights on Landon Maddix, eventually meeting him at Ground Zero in an eventual loss. He formed Slaughterhouse Five with Michael Alexander in the meantime.

SWF Storm card for January 10, 2007

You saved me the trouble since I was about to come back anyway. -
Oh yeah. It's the new season also... I know nothing about most of these shows though.
-
None of the auditions in the Haruhi polls were all that good but maybe things will come together once they actually start production. In any case there'll still be subtitles. And of course SaiGAR is finally under way. Mechazawa for the victory.
-
Now how long before Mike unbans him.
-
He posted a bunch of these in response to Thread Killer during a fite in Boardum and was banned.
-
Some awesome viral marketing by Kadokawa and Bandai by the way. I'm guessing they'll be using Bang Zoom! as the studio. Did you catch the Code Geass parody site?
-
Miller. Yeah, the Nuggets are great on paper, but still, chemistry and all that crap. Either way it'll be insanely fun to watch. At least the Nuggets will have an All-Star now.

I guess you're buying so it's worth looking into ADVs Complete Collection Thinpak sets. There are less frills than the single releases but they're a cheaper alternative, though I think the FMP sets have all extras included anyway. From a look through ADVs site the original is going for $90 and Fumoffu (which was just released) for $50. And no, I mean it doesn't tie in at all, really. The main plot and side stories of Fumoffu were released side by side, but as far as the anime goes, cross references and what not are kept to a minimum, meaning barely any and there's no strict interpretation as to where certain episodes belong. You know those omake chapters sometimes released with manga? Think of Fumoffu as those, basically supplementary material meant to focus on characters' personalities and various underutilized aspects of the series, where it fits doesn't matter. As for Geass we've seen parts of it before, especially from Sunrise. Keep in mind I've only seen bits of Seed since going through the awful Wing. It's generally well done and there's something for everyone, including harem romance, comedy, of course action, war, politics, etc. It's definitely not a stretch to call it a more grounded Gundam. Naturally mechs are reminiscent of Gundam, FMP, Patlabor, etc. The mechs are more or less a prop in the grand scheme, however, the true backbone and crux lies in the rebellion and characters, which is what sets it apart. I like the dueling moral ambiguity thing when it's done well and there's no shortage of it in Geass although time will tell where everyone falls. The dual leads are of the hopeful Sunrise idealist, where the appeal lies is that they're strong and proactive in their role, neither of them whine and cry like in so many other mech shows, basically angst is nil. None of the main characters really fit into the stereotypical archetype of their roles in the series as dictated by anime standards. The designs by CLAMP are hit or miss and there's cheese here and there but it's shaping up to be the best of the season as long as it keeps up this consistency.

I'm all for anyone shoving Nate Robinson around.

Yeah, you can't ban, I assume you can't rearrange the layout at will (I'd like to see you hide the wrestling folders from view, personally), can't fuck with people's accounts, what fun is left?

Oh I know the play he was talking about. It was nothing but a reverse, however, nothing excessive in the context of a game where it was still within distance. It's not like he pulled some NBA Jam shit by going through his legs with it... or bounced it off the floor and traveled in the process like a dumbass. The only thing Karl is guilty of is not pulling people earlier but with the way they've blown their leads this year it's understandable waiting until then. Just before the fight began he had sent Kleiza out to the table so I think he was ready to start pulling guys. And hard fouls, yes, but not bulldogging players down with an arm around their neck. Just getting between him and the basket and coming down on his arms or putting a body on him is enough.

Hell that's probably the only thing you'll be able to do this week and get away with unless Mike/Mole throw a tantrum regarding that too.
-
Call it homerism but Anthony only backed away, expecting a horde of Knicks to follow and readying himself, especially as Camby got in-between and more people did the same. He was still ready to go later as Robinson approached. Of course it was still a dick move and a shitty punch on review, the only thing that made it look any good was Collins tripping. There was also no way Smith was going to be able to dunk that once Collins got in between, much less some reverse deal like Isiah referred to. It would've been a lay-up attempt at best so the horse collar was excessive at that point.
-
Yeah, I think that was Collins who was sprinting toward him just in front of the scorer's table as Jeffries was held at mid-court. I honestly don't see what the big deal is. Malice at the Palace it ain't, but being the biggest fight since then and since he's the NBA leading scorer, an example will be made. If it was some scrub it wouldn't mean shit. It's just a fucking punch after all, that's never happened before. Anthony is already seen as soft, I think, so this will do nothing to tarnish that. In fact he probably needed something like this, sucker punch or not.
-
A late flagrant on JR Smith kicked off a huge scrap in New York just now. Carmelo landed a clean one on Collins which prompted Jeffries to chase him to the other side of the court before being tackled. Everyone on the floor was booted.

Let me see if I can clear this up. Tom may have confused you with a former SWF writer who had a similar El Dandy related screenname and a meat based character (seriously) who wasn't particularly good and may or may not post here anymore. That's all. And Czech has occasionally graced us with his presence, so there's one down.

The primary plotline runs from FMP to TSR. Though they were originally published concurrently the stories in Fumoffu don't tie-in strongly chronologically to either and someone could watch Fumoffu without needing to watch FMP/TSR and vice versa.
-
GDS? If you've seen FMP then you know what to expect and if not, it's probably recommended viewing going in. TSR is so much better regardless. Since it's only 13 episodes there are no wasted moments and is quickly paced, the action and villains are great, and the character development, especially Sousuke's is well done. I'd probably rank TSR and Fumoffu (speaking of, for comedy it doesn't get much better) even at the top with FMP second. Eh. I don't think it's been any better or worse than usual. Black Lagoon (though technically a continuation), Code Geass, Death Note, Bakumatsu Kikansetsu Irohanihoheto and Tenpou Ibun Ayakashi Ayashi (fulfilling my demon slaughtering steeped in history and shogunate era politics fix, but unfortunately subbers are slow on both) are all worthwhile and are first tier in my eyes. There's more enjoyable releases out there which have one or two flaws or may not appeal as broadly, like Kekkaishi, History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi, Hitman Reborn, Kanon, Pumpkin Scissors (loads of potential, just waiting to see if GONZO fucks it up, as usual), even dumb Shonen Jump-type action like Busou Renkin or D.Gray-man. Maybe it's just because I have a high tolerance/hate to give up on a series partway through. It's actually an American production but is quite good, although I completely missed out on the second season. There's obviously a lot of effort put into the production, the animation is always smooth, as is the fight choreography. It gets a little heavy handed with morals at times, which is to be expected, but it's still more mature than a lot of kid's shows, so you can do worse.

He has your number, Bob.
