Once I become champion for another five days this will change. Down with House Rules.

The biggest knock against Gambit is how much fanboys tend to overrate him. But he was fairly unique. His powers, the playing cards, the fighting style, all pretty different. Meanwhile Cable's traits... aren't. He has guns? That's it? Cliche. Not to mention one of the most fucked up backgrounds in comics and the fact that Rob Liefeld had a hand in his creation. The best thing about Cable was his overpowered appearance in MvC2.

The Great Debate: Spirit Squad vs. UMAGA
Golgo 13 replied to King Cucaracha's topic in The WWE Folder
Spirit Squad. Ditto. I'm amazed whenever they still come up with gimmicks like Umaga. It's not the 80s anymore. I wouldn't even mind Jamal so much if he wasn't such a lame savage retread. By and large Estrada is the best part about the gimmick and I wish he was with someone that was worth trying to get over and not one with such limited potential. The Spirit Squad is so amazingly over the top. They're taking a shitty gimmick, having fun with it and making it work. It also helps that they're passable in the ring for the most part, with some cool spots and offense. Everytime I see their video or them hamming it up in the ring I bust a gut. What's not to love. -
Mitch - Nick Mitchell. Mikey - Mike Mondo. Nicky - Nick Nemeth. They're so over the top. And awesome. All of you should accept this.

Yeah, Lucy is in development, along with Death Clock Metalocalypse (also by the creators of Home Movies). I'm down on Adult Swim, but both are something new that's actually worth looking forward to. TGTTM>Minoriteam>Perfect Hair Forever>Squidbillies>12 Oz. Mouse. Five worst. Minoriteam-Mouse's awfulness may as well be interchangeable. TGTTM redeems itself on occasion.

It's not like I'm actively avoiding it. I've been meaning to watch it, but the one episode I saw was on YouTube and the quality was awful, so now I'm waiting on a better quality torrent of the series.

Dumbass gives Feds more ammunition in the shutting down of video games

I point to this as something Crono likely wouldn't have posted. Whatever. I don't care. I even want him back, for crying out loud. An endless source of entertainment. -
Dumbass gives Feds more ammunition in the shutting down of video games

He came along a while after Crono was banned. I still don't think they're the same guy. Too many differences in their political posts. -
It was the movie that aired. About a year ago, I think. It was okay, I suppose. I was entertained. Though I don't really have a good memory of it, no idea how it was received nor how it stacks up as an Escaflowne production, since I've watched exactly one episode of the series thus far.

Dumbass gives Feds more ammunition in the shutting down of video games
Golgo 13 replied to a topic in Video Games
...no. How does this give them ammo? It's not like they're profiting off it unless someone actually did donate to their PayPal. It's just a stupid web game at the end of the day. It's not even recent, having been released last year and it wouldn't even have received all this attention, much less any, were it not suddenly published by the News in trying to create a story. Granted, the homepage is awful, but I tried it out. It's well done, isn't in extremely bad taste (relative) and remains objective as far as I've seen, never celebrating the shootings, going more into the issues surrounding the shooting, Dylan and Klebold's mindset, and effects afterward. I don't know, condemning it right off the bat without actually playing it is as bad as the politicians, soccer moms and sleazy lawyers trying to throw wrenches in the gaming (and entertainment) industry and create a name for themselves in the name of protecting the children. A non-story as far as I'm concerned. -
Sci-Fi... WHAT?!

I'm not saying he's the sole reason, but I think the image WWE projects plays a significant part, perhaps more than any other. Vince has been the face of American wrestling for 20+ years and WWF was really the first promotion to get such huge worldwide exposure. Yeah, there were regional companies, occasional television specials and weekly programs in the past for some promotions, but none on them were ever on the scale of WWF. He could have taken small steps if he really, truly wanted to. His version of the formula used for years previous is the one ingrained in the minds of much of society and is the one that helped in some way to foster negative attitudes. Like I said, he's not the only reason this is happening. Maybe simple differences in society is a factor when talking about America, Japan, Mexico and Canada and how the styles were traditionally presented to their respective cultures. It seems as if wrestling isn't nearly as villified in any of those for some reason, despite each being just as staged.

No, no, on the lower back, with just the right outline that it looks sexy as all hell when you're hittin' it from behind. Played. Out. Completely. So. There. See, not enough women are willing to get something on the upper back. It's still a relatively unexplored frontier for females. Typically I've seen someone get the fashion accessory on the lower back, settle and are done. The upper back opens up options for designs and likely also means they're willing to go for more if they haven't done so already, like a nice upper arm piece, for example. Granted, it's not as inherently arousing as the lower back, but they each serve the same general purpose anyway and it's less likely to get malformed as the years pass.

I like au gratin. Au gratin is good.

Real mayo can go to hell. Miracle Whip is good. I prefer mustard... spicy brown is the best. I only use ketchup with hamburgers and fries and breakfast on my eggs/bacon/sausage/potatoes. It has no place otherwise.

FTW = For the win. I like cornuts. They're not very filling, though. Taco Bell is preferable, but regular frozen burritos are a good substitute. Most of the time I just storm the kitchen without discretion.

As mentioned, as long as Vince doesn't have the dignity to treat himself, his wrestlers, his company with respect, why should anyone else? He makes a number of half-hearted gestures in attempting to make them into a legitimate, respected business, then presents the TV product in a totally different light. And to most of the world and America especially, the WWE is the be-all, end-all of wrestling and is all they know. I used to be a proponent of "movies and TV shows are fake too" but the more I think about it, it doesn't fly anymore. I blame kayfabe primarily. Case in point, Kane at a premiere in wrestling tights. That's just ridiculous. You don't see real actors and actresses doing that shit. To most of America when they do that and then go on TV, clearly cooperating on moves, it looks silly, like kids essentially dressing up and playfighting. This shouldn't even be up for debate. Many educated fans are just that, they know the ins and outs and have a sense of perspective, but they're a fraction of the audience and we have to accept it. As long as wrasslin' presents itself as an overblown carny sideshow with all the dignity of a strip club or used car lot along the highway, that's who they'll attract and that's all wrestling will be. The negative attitude about wrestling has been reinforced by decades of this stuff. Decades. It's futile to try and change minds on the matter. You'll just be wasting breath and time.

Could one of you guys catch me up on the Marvel Universe?
Golgo 13 replied to haws bah gawd's topic in Literature
Partial answers. Others can correct and add on. 1. His armor was given to him by Stark before or at the beginning of the Civil War storyline, during which Spider-Man plays a major part as a middle man, as he's torn between Pro-Registration (Iron Man) and Anti (Captain America). Culled from Wikipedia... 2. Apocalypse was revived during the House of M fallout, as a result of being accidentally infected by the techno-organic virus in the past... by Cable... who was infected by Apocalypse in the eventual future. Time paradox wackyness. Cable then apparently revealed that he was responsible for awakening Apocalypse because the mutant community needed to be strong and needed a strong villain to do so. I don't get it either. As for the Horsemen, they're Sunfire, Gambit, Polaris and a newish character named Gazer. More from Wikipedia... although on Sunfire's page it seems he's broken free of Apocalypse's control. "Gazer was saved from death and forced to battle an archeologist for the mantle of War, which he won with the aid of Apocalypse's majordomo and scribe, Ozymandias. Both Sunfire and Polaris were captured, and reluctantly altered into Famine and Pestilence, respectively. Gambit, however, submitted himself willingly to be transformed into Death, as he had come to believe Apocalypse could be helpful to the mutant cause though he would require to be watched." -

Yeah, but isn't Sony taking a huge loss on the PS3 units? Likely a lot more than Nintendo is. Yeah, Nintendo has to sell 3 to Sony's 1 essentially, but it's my understanding that a lot money out of that one has to go toward making up the difference, along with software sales. Sony just has the resources to take any loss and are looking at long term profit. I believe it's accepted that Nintendo is just about the only company that makes actual positive profit on consoles sold alone due to lower production costs. If true, it basicallly evens out on the end. What it depends on is if Nintendo can actually move enough units to keep up with the profits of their competitors, which they should be able to.

Tried it a few years ago. I mean completely. I didn't like it. Give me meat. Yeah, just try reducing your intake.

Win the tag team titles, bitch. Check yourself.

It's actually not a bad idea.

It looks like Naruto filler will be continuing for some time, into early June at least and maybe beyond, if as mentioned, they continue airing them until the new movie premieres. Though they seem to be stand alone comedy-ish episodes which is the one thing thing the fillers have done well. The 2nd movie was barely average also. I'm assuming the 1st isn't worth bothering with.
