HBO, Showtime, Cinemax, TMC, and Starz are a pay service so they can do pretty much whatever they want since you pay an additional monthly fee (in additional to your satellite/cable bill) to view it. Cable in general is unregulated by the government and that is why RAW can do things Smackdown can't and also shows like South Park and Nip/Tuck can air. Local channels are generally affiliates of the 4 main networks (ABC, NBC, FOX and CBS) and air affiliate programming during the day (soaps if the network has them) and during the evening. They run whatever they want inbetween and also show local and the network news (except FOX). Some are also affiliates of the WB and UPN (smaller networks than the other 4 but are devoid of network news and usually don't have as many shows or as many nights of network programming). There are also some local independent stations that show whatever they want. These channels are all regulated by the FCC since they are broadcast networks (you can get them over the air vs cable channels (Spike TV, CNN, MTV) which you have to pay a fee for and are thus not as regulated. PBS is a goverment/corporate/viewer funded network of shows (Sesame Street, wildlife shows, etc). PBS has affiliates just like the above broadcast networks. Hope that helps. It's just a general rundown.

It hurts that you try and be an asshole and fail doesn't it?

I just get called my last name constantly through high school, college and work.

I don't think you should look up to a video game character.

Odd I didn't have to join to see it. You all must just be inferior link clickers.

You know.... they are just videogames. Christ.

Hey, I don't like to fight. I just try (and usually fail) o be funny. And I hope that comment from CC as to -iB-. I've only started maybe 2 topics in WWE Folder ever, a ORton one 2 months ago, and my error-filled Velocity/Confidential one. I was talking to IB, but now that you mention it... Your posting in the WWE folder sucks. Get better. Keep this whole assholeish thing up and I'm going to have to start liking you for being more than a fellow BCer. Because god knows being from BC isn't exactly a plus in anyones book.

Alamo wasn't promoted as a Disney film though. So that arguement holds no water. It's just a bad movie that shouldn't have been made.

Hugh Hefner can wear whatever he wants because he's fucking a different Playboy Bunny every night. Al Keiper can't.

Men don't wear bathrobes.

What a sloppy 4th quarter by Dallas.

Join the club. Not going to get any easier with the Red Sox coming in next, either. Maybe they'll catch another break and the Sox plain will get held up again somewhere. You're annoyed? You haven't had to watch the Mariners play.

By Ray Waddell NASHVILLE (Billboard) - There are a number of solid arena tours out this spring and summer, including those by Eric Clapton (news), Britney Spears (news), Rod Stewart (news), Eagles, Prince, Madonna (news - web sites), Metallica (news - web sites) and Van Halen. The last of these launched with impressive on-sales last week, surely easing the minds of some promoters who ponied up artist guarantees of $750,000 to $1 million, according to sources. Band manager Irving Azoff would not confirm the figures. An on-again, off-again rumor for much of the first part of this year, the Van Halen reunion with Sammy Hagar (news) on vocals is now shaping up as a solid top 25 tour for 2004. The tour opens June 11 in Greensboro, N.C., at the Greensboro Coliseum. "I knew it would blow out," Azoff says. "Van Halen is rocking." Azoff says the tour will ultimately consist of four legs of 22 shows each. Reuters/Billboard

Canadians lack the fire to motivate anyone. See Benoit.

This list is so whack.

Rock is funny, one of the few black guys that can pull off white jokes and not come off overly racist *coughlawrencecough* Woody Allen, give me a break. I thought they were a tad nice to Allen, Letterman (who I really like), and a few others who aren't known so much for their standup. And Jay Mohr can make me laugh my ass off from time to time. And I'd have Mitch Hedberg on the list before some of those names. Comedy Central definatly threw a bunch of their guys on the list...but not him. I like Rock a lot. I just don't think he is Top 5 material IMO. Top 10-15? Sure.
-
*Mind Explodes* I don't have an issue with Pryor being ahead of Carlin.... but why is Chris Rock in the top 5? Did Woody Allen ever do standup? And Jay Mohr sucks.

I refuse to go to a Mariners game until they get to .500 . Which means sometime around the All Star Break.
