I have the NERO StartSmart burning program on my computer since I got it, and up until now it's worked perfectly. I'd pop in a disc and burn a CD within 3-4 minutes. Excellent, right? But today I went to burn off some CDs and realised that it was taking an EXTRAORDINARY amount of time, as in 40 MINUTES to burn a CD??! Anyways, is there something I did, and not realise it? If anyone has any ideas or helpful hints, please share them. This is driving me nutz!

As far as I know, it's still at 52x Burning Speed, which I've always had it at. Also, I NEVER test burn my CDs, so that's not changed. Even when the CD was burning (slowly I might add) I went to open the Internet Explorer and it took forever to open, if at all. Same with anything else I tried to do while burning.. Somethings fucked, I know it..

I'm in the process of making a mixed CD for this evening. A friend of mine is getting off work in a couple of hours and I wanna have a good mixed CD made and a couple of joints rolled for tonight's festivities. So, any ideas? I usually stick to somewhat of a criteria or a format when making these CDs we have for our reefer smoking adevntures. We include any Rock/Alt tracks that may be good today (ie) Foo Fighters, Franz Ferdinand, Stereophonics, etc as well as any other lesser known acts that can be surprisingly good, (ie) Interpol, Hot Hot Heat, Fall Out Boy. Also some great hip/hop beats from today (ie) Kanye West, Jay-Z, Sweatshop Union, etc, But we also go back in time a little, not exactly "old school" but 90's style music, with some occasional Method Man, Biggie, Nirvana, Sloan, Offspring, etc. Also, to mix it up a bit we go take a blast from the past a get some really old country song by the likes of George Jones, and/or some classic Ray Charles song or an early Stevie Wonder track. Also to spice it up, and for some comic relief, we try and include a couple of clips, from movies, tv shows, etc to liven up the mood. But right now, after making about 20 or so of these CDs over the past year or so, I'm running out of ideas/songs. So, I need some help. Any input you can give me to turn me in the right direction or introduce me to a gem that you know of, or a classic tune I might somehow be forgetting. I just started and I have: - Kanye West "Gold Digger" - Our Lady Peace "Boy" - The Trews "Sweetness" - Napoleon Dynamite (Kip - "Always And Forever")

..and they sleep with their Wives, of all women.

"Specialist" is the song that turned me onto Interpol. Amazing.

Tonight, myself and my buddy were out for a bite at the McDonald's on Topsail Rd. when we seen two younger guys break into the William's convenience store behind the local Burger King. We were just finished our food as we heard some glass break and we looked over and there were two guys - one dressed in a black hoodie with some logo on the back, who seemed to serve as a 'lookout'. While the other guy, who looked like he was breaking the glass open enough to crawl in, was wearing a similar style red hoodie. Both guys were wearing ball caps. Within 3-4 minutes a cop car came driving up Topsail Rd. and sped over to the parking lot. My friend and I, were fucking SHOCKED. Watching all this take place before our very eyes. Anyways, the guy in the back hoodie seen the cop car speeding over and took the fuck off! The other guy was crawling back out when the cop came closer to the store. As the cop got out of the car, the guy in the red hoodie ran off down the lot. The other guy was no where to be seen. The young guy ran down across Topsail Rd. to the intersection of Topsail and Cowan Avenue. The cop chased after him screaming "Stop! Get down or I'll fucking shoot you!". The guy ran off down Cowan Avenue as the cop stopped to radio for some backup. About 30 seconds later a police jeep pulled up and went to the scene of the crime. The first officer then ran down the street at an INCREDIBLE pace after the little bastard. Another minute or so a steady stream of police cars, with sirens and lights, came down Topsail Rd. Ghost cars even showed up! The place was full. The whole force seemed to have joined in on the action. My friend joked, "Next thing we'll hear fucking choppers overhead!". Just as we said, we hoped they'd catch the little skeet, we see the original cop walk up from Cowan Avenue WITH THE YOUNG GUY! Justice at last! The little fucker got caught. What an experience. We seen the whole thing go down, beginning to end. It was like we were watching an episode of "Cops", or better yet, a movie. After a few minutes of discussing the shit we had just seen, several other cop cars began to cruise the area looking for the other guy who ran off. We didn't see much else, as we called it a night. This is one for the books.
