I'm listening to Talk Talk's Laughing Stock now, but feel free to continue talking about The Shape of Punk to Come. Or Laughing Stock. That's cool, too.

People who are hung up on the notion of this band being a bunch of Nation of Ulysses rip offs should have their testicles removed, by the way.

Listening to it right now. The techno excursions are the worst thing about it. Most everything else is fuckin'

    4 years?!?!

Bob, I told you about the time Agent of Oblivion and I met and I mentioned your name and Agent fell into hysterics, right? The conversation then moved on to something else.

I like The Man Who Fell to Earth, but—and as much as I am loathe to use this phrase—it's not for everyone. It's such a bizarre and weird movie. (I don't toss around "weird" lightly, mind you.) There's so much about it that makes it ripe for high comedy, yet the film takes such a solemn, elegiac tone. I can understand hating it.

I mean, who cares about anything else the English have done, outside of beer.

I thought "rock music" was assumed.

Anyone here see The Man Who Fell to Earth? Criterion put out a nice two disc set of it.

I ended up having to drop the periods due to anyone from outside this place being confused at the lack of a question mark. Great, I've completely ruined the English language.

I brought back ?s after seeing too many other people pick up on it. Whenever I do it now it's more out of habit than anything else.

Oh, I definitely prefer Low to Station to Station—the former is my favorite Bowie after Hunky Dory—but I'm saying the pieces were there for Low, without being very Eno-y. Station to Station drags in spots, sure, but the highs are so very high. The title track, particularly during the "it's too late" conclusion, gives me chills.

Give it up, dude. I stopped caring about having a board persona or whatever a long time ago; your behavior in this thread speaks volumes.

I like that Hoff picks now, long after I stopped with the elitist bastard schtick, to rail against me. You're a slow one, bro. A slow one, indeed.
