For the record, I'm not intentionally being obtuse.

I don't follow.

I'm really glad I opened this thread again.

When's the last time we had a thread about cover songs?
Giuseppe Zangara replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in Music
Good man. The all covers Ultraglide in Black is their best album, though that all originals half of the If You Don't Already Have a Look comp surpasses the covers half. -
Cam'Ron plans to confront Internet Pedofiles on new DVD
Giuseppe Zangara replied to UZI Suicide's topic in Music
About two years ago, I would've made a more empassioned, eloquent argument, more along the lines of what others have done in this thread. But, really, me and hip hop haven't seen eye to eye in awhile. The current mainstream stuff, in spite of it being "hip" with many of my peers, is just awful, awful garbage. Young Jeezy, Three Six Mafia....people like this shit? There's no innovation here, nothing that shows any sort of creativity or thought beyond what will sell. I swear some of this stuff sounds like the potential crunk preset from Casio's Gangsta keyboard line. Press a button and yell about lookin' for the time to find a dime to your heart's content! The "underground" scene isn't much better. Recent stuff from the Roots, Mos Def and Talib Kweli have all been major misfires. The Def Jux label hasn't released anything worthwhile since 2002. Anticon was never good. -

A reasoned, thought out argument. Was that so hard? Why couldn't you have done this earlier. Nor was it ever meant to be. Hip hop is about rhythm. If you're basing it solely on what other forms of music have, then you're missing the point. This isn't rock music, this isn't jazz, etc. If it still doesn't appeal to you, that's fine, I'm not here to try to change your mind, but you tend to come into these threads and make yourself look as idiotic as EvanderHolyfieldsMissingEar. Please, stop. I can't argue with this; it's partly why I don't listen to much hip hop these days. I was actually enjoying your post until I got this. Quit being stupid; you're better than that. -

The Czech Republic went off to listen to the Arcade Fire rather than debate me. -

How is this not a valid artform? What argument have you ever provided that didn't come off as the drool-soaked rambling of some fucking halfwit who reacts just because he doesn't understand it? -

EvanderHolyfieldsMissingEar just went on ignore, by the way. -

The two posts prior to this one right here are some of the worst I read in any hip hop thread in this board. Actually, Czech's made some equally stupid ones in the past. -
Proposing anal sex during intercourse.
Giuseppe Zangara replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in Brandon Truitt
I simply hadn't watched anal action in a very long time. That I avoided the porn didn't mean that I didn't wanna stick it in a tighter crevice. -
What's this thread about.

If you post the pic everytime he posts, it loses its charm.

Why not just piss in some ice cream? I'll piss in your mouth.

Proposing anal sex during intercourse.
Giuseppe Zangara replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in Brandon Truitt
I never did this girl in the ass, nor any since. I watched some porn not too long ago. I was unware that anal would be involved—it wasn't marked as such—but, lo and behold, the guy stuck his cock in the girl's ass. I didn't like watching it. At all. Totally killed my boner. That it did was a little depressing. I don't have much interest in doing it these days, so the girl I'm seeing now is safe. -
Captain, what do you think of Cohen's last two albums?
-
"Another Sunny Day" is now my third favorite B&S song, after "Lazy Line Painter Jane" (#1) and "The State I Am In" (#2).

I don't dig TBWTAS so much; I like DCW, but it leans a little too heavy towards sunshine-and-lollipops-and-gee-aren't-we-so-fucking-cute at times. With one possible exception, TLP is more about the songs than the schtick.
-
The Life Pursuit for the current B&S sound; If You're Feeling Sinister for their sad bastard early stuff. Push Barman to Open Old Wounds collects their EPs spanning 1997-2001 and serves as a good overview of their work.
-
wtf dude. Get on this, now.
-
I'm not even a huge B&S fanboy, but it's been a long time since something new has made me this excited. This album provokes reactions in me. Happy things, good feelings, etc.

It's a Stones-penned tune that Keith Richards let his buddy Gram Parsons record a year before the Stones did it themselves. Not a FBB original. -

Hey, I said I like the JAMC original just fine. But the Pixies took it, cut out the British moping bastard part and turned it into the bright, fist-pumping, anthemic love song that it is. -
I hate going to the secret board and seeing there are no new posts. Makes me read threads like this.

I'm drinking Boddingtons right now.
