I have no problem admitting I enjoyed Garden State, save the final ten minutes. Total sentimental crap.

Lamest brag ever.

I almost started this thread at the other place; now I'm wondering why I didn't.

Even now, my mind is switching from the riff in "New Noise" to the chorus of "The Weight."

Nah, it sucks. Big time. But then I think "Girls, Girls, Girls" is good, so, ya know.

I doubt Jay and Eminem have beef, but Mr. Mathers was partially responsible for the worst track on The Blueprint.

He's pretty fucking sweet, yeah. I wanna get that Miles Davis complete Cellar Door sessions box that just came out.

Kotz thinks I have no sense of humor for not liking anything from this site. That's debatable, but I really want to kill the cruel bastard that did that Hobbes one.

I did Vicodin once. I got nice and blizted from it, too. I don't think I pop enough pills, really.

I'm sure, given the appropriate context, this was very touching. -
I don't like the hook, either, but I like West's production just fine. And I like an insult to have a little more insight than "you suck," so I prefer Jay-Z's. (And yeah, Nas' line about Jay's misogyny was good, but hypocritical.)

I got this from the myspace bulletin board. The post included a link to another story, which mentions the older man ran what was apparently a Suicide Girls-esque site, which briefly featured this girl. That article also linked to his livejournal, though there's little of note there, outside of his last update three weeks ago, wherein he posted the following: "This Journal has been closed as I have found most people are not worth careing about" -

Long ago, I stopped feeling creepy for still finding the recently deceased attractive. That would be my message to her were she on my friends list. -

September 7th, 2005. Five hours pass between the last innocuous message and the first "oh shit, you're missing" post. -

Thank you, Fox News. -

Few people outside of hardcore hip hop heads care that Nas is technically better; in the minds of the average rap fan—who look to MTV, BET, commercial radio, etc.—Jay-Z won, which is only due to his being much more prominent in those venues than Nas. Anyway, "The Takeover" is a better track than "Ether." Nas' track is little more than him saying "Jay-Z sucks" over and over again (albeit with clever wordplay); "The Takeover" is a far more thorough evisceration.
-
It's irrelevant whether Nas had the best dis track; Jay-Z sells more records and has higher cred, so he "won." Shit like this is only a popularity contest. Plus, yeah, Jay-Z is such an attention whore. But, then, that's a rapper for you. EDIT: In response to the Banky post below, I wasn't saying sales anything to do with the beef itself.

I'd be fine with you not liking "Won't Get Fooled Again"—okay, not really, though we can pretend for the sake of argument—were it not for you saying that the embarassingly cloying, wretch-inducing sentimentality of "The Song is Over" is not only better, but also one of the best tracks on the album. Wow. Next, you'll be telling me that "Squeezebox" is one of their greatest songs. Say it ain't so.

Are you kidding?
