Spine of God is one of the funniest albums ever made. Seriously.
-
There's one here in town. They often have awful cover bands playing awful songs awfully.
-
I think we should have an intervention.
-
Spacemen 3, which was Jason Pierce's band pre-Spiritualized, for one. Also, check out Galaxie 500. Go in chronological order with them.
-
Wait, I think it might be Seamonsters now.
-
The Replacements' "Bastards of Young." Just a dude sitting on a couch, listening to the song on his turntable. Nothing happens until the end of the song where it starts to "skip," causing the guy to get up and kick in his speakers. There was another Replacements video in which the band just sat around and did nothing for its entirety. I think it was for "Alex Chilton," but I can't remember right now.

So Tom Waits' Rain Dogs is my all-time favorite album, I decided. I was thinking the Wedding Present's Seamonsters might take the top spot, but I may've burned myself out on it. (I still love it, though.) But I was listening to Rain Dogs earlier today, and goddamn if it doesn't continue to be the most gorgeous and twisted thing I've ever heard.

Also, after listening to it, I'd say "Blue Orchid" is a weird choice for a single. Not very radio friendly, though that isn't a fault.
-
The three that I own plus the numerous others I've heard from a couple of Zappa-leaning friends. I've heard enough of a broad range Zappa material to know I'll never love him. I'd admire him a lot, though.

Meg White looks like she has down syndrome. She plays drums like she has down syndrome, too. As for the song, man, the vocals are irritating as all get out. The song itself is kinda bland, but nothing terrible. (Outside of that godawful falsetto.)
-
I like them, though I wish they had at least one other song as awesome as "Hotel Yorba." They're just good, as it stands.
-
I'm never gonna think Zappa's more than just alright. And I'm fine with that.

I used to have a crush on this cute Asian chick that vj'ed there.

Why is this thread still here.

I don't know what Ed the Sock is. My memories of MM stem from my senior of high school, which was forever ago.
-
Didn't Fuse used to be MuchMusic? That (MM) was an interesting channel about a decade ago—they'd play stuff that never got further in the states than college radio, while also playing Backstreet Boys a year before that kinda shit would fly on this side of the border—but man, it was downhill when they started to cater to the American crowd. Granted, I cared for little of what they played back when they were Canadian-centric, but it was different from what I'd see on MTV. (Keep in mind this was the mid-90s, when that channel slowly turned into all Real World, all the time.)

Man has been in college for 11 years

I know a guy like this. He hosts a weekly three hour prog show at the station I do my show; I think he's working on his fourth degree right now. A number of us suspect he's a virgin. So he's not totally like the guy in that article, but still. -
Maybe I'll go my whole life without hearing them. It didn't work with the Bravery, but there's hope for this one.

I've already got Earth on my "to check out" list. I'm gonna mention a band I think I've mentioned here before, but some of you guys might like Growing. They're kinda like Sunn O))); they're just as slow and riffy and loud, but with a greater concentration on melody. Get either The Sky's Run Into the Sea or The Soul of the Rainbow and the Harmony of Light. Both are worthwhile.

I support this proposal.

I can't claim to recall too much of Maladroit, but there's no way this song's moronic, sub-Blink 182 doggerel is better.
-
Yeah, it was at CG. And isn't the new LB just a remix album with a few new tracks? I don't know how excited I can get about that.

A gimmick created by Agent of Oblivion
Giuseppe Zangara replied to Giuseppe Zangara's topic in No Holds Barred
Kotz called me Sunday as I was about to go to sleep. His voice was jittery and nervous, asking me about what happend on the board during his absence. I told him that I don't know and to leave me alone. -

Incanetic. Has Agent of Oblivion ever made any other gimmicks?
